I went to the store about 30 minutes ago and was playing this song, the clerk was like "who you listening to?". I said "NF". The clerk went crazy. He was like "oh my God, finally someone else listens to him too." Then we got into a convo about how great NF is and how he doesn't get enough credit for how damn talented he is.

NF actually went live on Instagram the other day to talk about the mixtape. He said that this song was done right after the search and it probably would’ve been on the next album, however, he wouldn’t have it like that because he thought that it was repetitive and like the search. So, he put it on here, which is great because I think this is my favorite song on the mixtape. He also said that he added that rap part at the end after everything else, he didn’t know how to end it he didn’t like ending it without that. Great reaction!

Bro, I still can't get over how you latch onto lyrics so quickly. The fact that you can recite a line or two perfectly after one or two listens is astounding.

I love that this is titled Drifting (through your mind I feel like) and the chaos of the flows, the volumes, the extra and skewed voices all paint the picture of drifting through a painfully unstable mindset and then the lyrics make that picture incredibly vivid.

The beat sounds like it could be on either one of Andy Mineo’s “The Sword” or “The Arrow” EPs
