I really the new No Time to Die Watch, but after a rare pairing, I realized what a missed opportunity Omega and James Bond had on their hands.... I back up my claims with plenty of wrist shots and videos. You won't find this watch/Bracelet pairing anywhere else on the internet, but after you see the video, you'll most likely agree that the watch was made for this Milanese Bracelet.
Also in the video, I review the Watchgecko Milanese Bracelet that I ordered.
We compare the current No Time To Die Watch with what should have been Craig's final watch in the role.
What do you think? Please be courteous when leaving behind a comment. This video expresses my opinions, and is not meant to offend or criticize anyone or anything. I am up for healthy discussion!

    Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been eyeing the NTTD for years and tried it on last month and was underwhelmed by the bracelet. Simply because it didn’t fit my wrist well and didn’t hug like a true Milanese should. I looked at all sorts of options including the shorter bracelet but it seemed like a lot of work. At the same time i love the heritage model AND I have the very exact watchgecko strap on a Longines dress watch and can attest to its quality. Thanks to your video you’ve actually killed two birds with one stone, so thank you!

    That milanaise bracelet is definitely a great choice! And I can't wait to see the new Seamaster as well, it will probably look so good on it as well. I would also like to see the milanaise on the Trilogy Seamaster 300. I did really like the No Time to Die as well, and almost went for it. Perhaps it was just a bit too light for me!

    Really interesting vid... big Seamaster fan and currently have a 2018 black SMP. Totally get your point about the heritage of the bracelet... however, as an owner, the bracelet was one of the few areas in which I think the watch is lacking. Mainly because of the lack of taper. I get this is part of the identity of the watch. However, I actually think the SMP on a Milanese is a dream. A bit more sporty than refined, but really happy with mine. 👍🏻 subscribed and looking forward to the next one

    Thank you for the comment and support Jay. I actually like the SMP on the Milanese, I think it’s beautiful! My point, which may have been poorly explained, was mainly in relation to the watch James Bond should wear in the film, and why I think it’s important for Omega to brand itself with longevity in mind, by using the same watch in multiple films and not a new one every film. When I mention heritage, I mean it as it pertains to James Bond and his iconic wave bracelet. But as a watch on its own, it’s beautiful on the mesh and I want to purchase one myself for the blue SMP 😊

    Absolutely stunning combo. Just saw you’re post from a few days ago in a thread about a sub. The Spectre 300 has always been my favorite and love the new Milanese bracelet. If you don’t mind me asking, how much does it cost to be serviced and how often? I’ve heard co-axial movements are more complicated and some watchmakers won’t work on them.

  • @TheSuaveEntrepreneur

    @TheSuaveEntrepreneur

    3 жыл бұрын

    The METAS certified Co Axial Movements are claimed by Omega to run in between service intervals of 5-8 years. The price of each service for a non chronograph watch is $550. It’s true that many independent jewelers and watch makers don’t work with them due to not having the training required nor the precision machinery needed to add small amounts of oil to certain parts. But that’s the sacrifice you make for purchasing a high end, in-house, and exotic movement!

  • @TheSuaveEntrepreneur

    For bond films specifically, they should have stuck to the wave bracelet. It’s better for the Omega brand to stick to a couple watches and continuously market them through longevity, instead of releasing a new one every movie. Casual fans will take notice of the same watch is in multiple movies, like the Pierce Brosnan SMP. Just proper marketing. The bracelet is a 21mm wide polished, and it you don’t notice scratches due to the mesh surface.

    I'm not entirely convinced of this 300-on-a-Mesh-thing... on the other hand, the NTTD-Edition looks absolutely fabulous. In my opinion this is due the fact, that this Mesh Bracelet has a distinctive taper to it. As I own a silver 2018 300 Diver, I was on the search for a Mesh Bracelet with tapering for some time. The most interesting (and fitting) alternative come out to be a Mesh Bracelet from MILTAT. They offer a tapering Mesh Bracelet either polished or brushed. I ordered the brushed and it came out quite nice on the watch. Nontheless I have to admit, that it's no comparison to the original ;) Take care and stay healthy!

    My point was specifically what’s better advertising for the brand. The original Seamaster diver 300m became such a popular watch, even a classic, thanks to help from consistent placement in 5 Bond films back to back. It became synonymous to James Bond. What Omega needs to do to improve their advertising and popularity of a certain watch model is to feature it more consistently. Daniel Craig, ideally, should have kept the planet ocean the whole way through. But in this case, with Daniels input of a vintage watch on a Milanese, it would have been a win-win to keep the heritage model one last go round and improve its branding through consistent featuring in 2 films. I definitely didn’t explain it as clearly as I wanted to. Regardless, both watches are lovely. My Boutique says they can’t sell enough of the NTTD watch. Im happy for them

    @@TheSuaveEntrepreneur I see what your saying.... I do love the seamaster 300 but I'm a fan of the pre-1964 39mm size.. For that dial design.....41mm just seems a bit oversized....I believe it also was thinner... that would still help repopularize the 300 lounge in general and increase the market share, similar to the black bay line... That would have been a good way to make something "new" for a Bond movie.... To reintroduce the original sizing, but keeping the more interesting lug design and the sandwich dial.... They could still go with a tapered 20mm Milanese bracelet (though I might prefer a beads of rice bracelet with that dial.) So there's my pick for the next official James Bond watch!
