As I watch each video, in the back of my mind I'm like "this MF know so much about watches he must have INVENTED time" and then at the end of each one he's like "nah I didn't" and I'm like "dang my fault he didn't invent it, he just be tellin' it".

I agree completely. I have the white version with the orange second hand. It's a great watch, but the lack of tool-less adjustment on the bracelet is a glaring omission. One of my Citizen (PMD56-2951) watches has a micro adjustment in the clasp, so it should be standard on every modern Omega.

I agree. It's very aggravating. I love everything about it but the fact that it doesn't have one is leading me to think about selling. It just infuriates me that a watch company of this scale doesn't include with a watch of this level.
Major detail missed - Caliber 8900 (41mm version only) has a jumping hour hand in place of the quick-set date. Handy feature for frequent travelers that's also on the Globemaster. The downside is that Cal 8900 is thick AF, making this watch a chunker compared to earlier A-Ts. The Caliber 8800 in the 38mm version makes it a fair bit thinner, though it's still thick overall compared to pre co-axial Omegas.
I absolutely love the Aquaterra but there’s a few reasons why I chose the OP36 over it: 1) the butterfly clasp doesn’t compare to the clasp and micro adjust on the OP, 2) Retail price is 10% more for the Aquaterra and 3) Resale value is so much less than OP

You often get 10-15% discount on the AT though, at least I got mine for 10% off. You'd never get that on a Rolex, that being said, even getting one at retail is borderline impossible. @@giusepperocchi2979 I just bought OP 41 for RRP. So I don’t really get this video’s title.
I love my white 38mm Aqua terra. I bought it preowned for half the price as new, at the time that used OPs were about the same price. Trying out both watches, it was clear that the AT offers much more for the money in terms of having a date, a nicer dial, and better resistance to magnetism. Great video, I you could have gone into more specs and even a side by side comparison . This felt a little like an AD to go to your website.
Great review! I have owned this exact AT model since 2018, and it's my #1. Several Rolexes have come and gone in that time, but the blue AT 8900 remains. I think it is better than the OP, Explorer, and DJ in every way.
You are definitely correct….. this is an unbelievable beautiful timepiece. I’ve had this exact watch for three years among other timepieces in my collection. Although, I love every single one in my collection, I wear this one the most. This Aqua Terra is underrated and quite frankly no one really talks about it. It makes it really special that not a lot of people having this one. The blue dial is really beautiful and the hour markers on the dial luminate in the dark. I can not say enough about this timepiece. It’s a “must have” in any collection.
I got the green one 6 months ago. I am still in love with it. I will wear my usual, cheaper rotation and kind of leave this one out because it feels more vanilla than a lot of my watches. But every time I throw it on my wrist, it will catch the light and I will wonder why I don't wear it more often. It is an amazing watch and hasn't lost a second over a solid couple weeks.
Just about perfect. In addition to drilled lugs the clasp needs on the fly adjustment, then I'd grab one for sure.

Couldn't agree more! As much as i love the simple perfection of the OP/ Explorer 1, i have to agree spec wise and design wise the Aqua Terra blows almost every other GADA watch out of the water for less money at least in the luxury category. I'd rather put my money on the AT, better bang for buck and a gorgeous design
Exactly like mine Omega, whose I'm very proud owner since July 2021 and purchased at AD "Krona" in Zadar, in Croatia . I'm still in love with it and cannot take my eyes of it whenever I put it on my left wrist and indeed is an eye-catcher according to my experience when watch lovers notice it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great watch overall. My main gripe with it is the clasp. There should be an option for clasp with micro adjustment. I tried all combinations of removing links and half-links but it is impossible to achieve comfortable fit with the stock one. Another minor gripe is that the omega logo on the crown never aligns nice. It is always sideways when you screw it down.
While I still prefer the OP, I wouldn’t spend $10k+ on one. At retail, I’d rather have the OP than an AT even though the AT is technically better. The OP is thinner, smaller and I much prefer the design. I never liked the AT dial, it’s too thick (13mm+) and even the 38.5mm version wears closer to 40mm. Compare this to the 36mm OP that wears like a 38mm and is around 11mm thick but wears thinner. For me, I’d rather spend half the AT and get a Black Bay 36. That has most of the great qualities as the OP, a dial I prefer over the AT and is much cheaper. Sure the movement isn’t in house and the finishing isn’t as nice, but I much prefer it for myself.

I've got the deep blue dial with full silver inlays including the second marker key. 41mm fits and looks great for my wrist. The only con in my view is that there is no option for the micro adjustment of the bracelet. Other than that, just can't stop looking at my wrist. Indeed, a beautiful timepiece.
I wish omega tapered their bracelets and not sure I’m keen on the polished mid links, but I own the black dial 38mm version on a rubber strap and love it 👍

I would always choose Omega over a Rolex but my worry with the Aqua Terra is that it looks to be a scratch magnet. The one in the video is an example. Prefer the brushed effect on my Seamaster 300 and would like to see something a little more robust & practical on the Aqua Terra.
I have the previous 42mm version with vertical grooves. Two tone gold and steel, annual calendar, gorgeous finishing. I love it, and it cost £3,500, so nowhere near the price of an OP.

OK now. Until I just saw your closeup, I didn't know that this watch of which I have owned for over a year and half, has a sunburst dial. Wow, how did they pull that off considering having the teakwood ship deck pattern? Very impressive and I just learned something again about how good Omega truly is.
The Rolex is a great watch, but double the price of the AT to us mere mortals is crazy (this used but in as new condition). I have the green dial and love it, the dial is fantastic and the hands and indices are insanely reflective in the best possible way. It's a little large at 41mm, but then so is the OP, but it's also slender and wears superbly on my fairly average 6.75" wrist. Only slight complaint is the lack of micro adjust on the bracelet with the butterfly clasp and the fact Omega haven't released a green rubber to match it (black and blue are catered for though). The perfect GADA luxury watch imo.

OP is 36
I'm debating between one of these, a Tudor BB GMT/36/41, or a Rail Master (My first love for Omega). I've thought about a GS as well but I already have two Seiko divers in my collect so if I get a GS it needs to be something special and will stand out from my other Seikos.
Nice vid. But what about comparing the accuracy of the two movements? Rolex seems to be more accurate?
I own this watch and love it. I bought it as a graduation gift to myself and wear it daily. It’s versatile and looks great regardless of what I’m wearing.
I wear my 41mm chrome dial/blue hand AT day and night. It fits every occasion from pool day to date night. It’s also keeping about 0.3 seconds fast per day on wrist and off. My only complaint is that the lume on the minutes hand can blend with the lume on the outer track at times, making it hard to pinpoint-but the lume is bright as hell all night, so a tiny imperfection on an otherwise awesome watch. My favorite aspects are the slightly (double) domed and flush crystal and how the case is not perfectly slab sided-you can’t see this in the videos, but it tapers inward a little from top to bottom. So many subtleties make this watch really fun to own! I got mine for $4,000 lightly used! And since I want a date window, I would want a Datejust, but I could buy 3 aqua Terra’s for the price of a comparable datejust 41 with money left over. If you’re on the fence, just buy the AT!
In reference to the micro adjustment of the steel bracelet…or lack of it…I opted for Omega rubber strap which is comfy summer or winter.
I have the AT world timer. The steel bracelet is a smudge and scratch collector. The dial jewelry is just as nice in my opinion as GS. The movement is fine for the price. Love it actually. Rolex offers nothing like it.
I’ve owned this very model for 14 months. I love this watch, super reliable and accurate, super versatile, feels special on the wrist and looks amazing. It’s just a quality watch throughout with awesome finishing. The way it catches the light just oozes class.
This was my first luxury watch and still a daily wear. Only con for me is the straps are not easily changed. First place I took it to gouged the caseback trying to get the rubber strap on.
Great watch! Love the AT's. My vote would go to any number of Grand Seiko GMT's, from the Mt Iwate models, to the Four Seasons, that offer really good value at the same price point.
I can't say I own or have owned either. I know I would be completely happy with a Rolex OP. But I have always preferred the Aqua Terra regardless. Even at the same price I would prefer the Aqua Terra simply because I do think it's a nicer overall package. It's a watch I aspire to acquire.
Just a simple observation but why aren't Omega ATs compared to Rolex DJ instead I mean they both have the same complications...
Enjoy my Aqua Terra every day when I'm not wearing my vintage Seamaster 120M !!!! BOTH are my favorite!!!! Thx for the review....... Agree completely about the availability! Thx
Ey! Currently wearing mine (the light blue dial with the blue seconds hand) and I have to agree on all fronts. It actually took me a while to wear it daily over my BB58, but at some point it clicked and now I can't take it off. Works at a wedding, works at the pool and works when you're just chilling at home with jeans and a shirt. Only con is lack of micro adjustment--it's getting pretty hot here in Miami.
I really want to agree, but being one of the folks with a smaller wrist, I tried various Aquaterra recently, and they are just too big and the bracelet just feels flimsy in comparison (maybe that's just me having worn from Rolex exclusively for >10yrs) it's a great one and done piece, if it fits, however, I went on to register my interest in an OP 36 instead

41 mm has the 8900 movement which has the ability to move just the hour hand great for travel
I have owned the same watch since Feb this year. Love it and have worn it everyday in every occasion!! It's very very accurate to boot!!!
Good on you for being real about it!
I have an AT Worldtimer with the blue rubber. Love it to bits. And priced lower than a grey market DJ 41... which basically just looks fancy.
got a aqua terra annual calendar and so happy with it, rolex gotta ditch their ad scam !
I have a 6.75 inch wrist and I have the green AT. It’s absolutely fantastic.
I have the blue with the 8800 but with a leather strap. Those mid links are scratch magnets. The leather doesn't seem to be as available as the bracelet on Chrono24 and other places for some reason. It still has the clasp and lacks micro adjust but you can at least punch a whole where you want it in leather
I have the 38mm version of this colourway on my shopping list as we speak. Most likely on a leather or sailcloth strap as I'm not a fan of butterfly clasps
You forgot about quick set of the hour hand. Very useful for travelers.
Got one, - The Ryder Cup. Easiest watch in the world to read with white dial and dark blued hands. Love it!
Love my Aqua Terra. I do miss micro adjust and the line could be better. My first luxury watch.
I looked at the Aquaterra but don’t like anything over 40mm so I ended up getting an Omega Railmaster and the Christopher Ward Sealander with the white dial. Love the CW and its on the fly micro-adjust is far superior to the butterfly clasp from Omega. That butterfly clasp is my biggest gripe on my Omega Railmaster, it’s either loose or tight. You can have both watches for new Aquaterra money.

The Aqua Terra is also available in 38mm
Got an Aqua Terra in December. Great watch for the money and like you said, you can wear it anywhere.
Tried this model on at the AD and thought it was just amazing. Only thing that stopped me from buying it was the Iconic Omega Seamaster diver 300 with white wave dial which was surprisingly less money as well.
I own the 41mm blue and green and I just love them. I have a small wrist and to me they don’t wear that big. I love their weight, thickness and just how much they offer for their price.
So yes, I have an Aqua Terra. Mine is 8 years old and does “Gada”. I have the grey older style, with date window at the 3. And I like it well enough- that I gave my daughter the 38 mm version, small seconds, as a graduation gift when she completed her doctorate. And while my wife wears a Rolex or a Cartier- I’m good with this 80% of the time. The other 20%- are micro brand beater times.
Would you wear this with a navy blue suit? Or is the dial too light of a blue texture ?
This Coaxial cal.8900 movement is incredible in specs. Probably the most accurate everyday 100% mechanical watch movement ever.
For me 3 cons, shiny center links,AR coating that will not last and no micro adjustment on clasp.Aquaterra is still a killer watch to buy.
I've got the green version of this i picked up earlier this year. It's an amazing watch. My only complaint is the polished bracelet and the bracelet in general. DOesn't feel as high quality as the watch does
It’s beautiful but I don’t get how a watch today at this price doesn’t have on the fly micro-adjustments.
Beautiful watch. I have the SMP black bezel and white dial, am thinking if I should get the green AT in green dial. Would have preferred to have the green rubber strap but the one on the leather is really nice, decisions decisions!
Recently purchased a green dial AquaTerra as a possible exit watch from the hobby. Not sure I’m going to be able to get down to just one watch…but I’m testing the theory.
I honestly believe that the AT is almost perfect or at least it is the perfect luxury everyday watch. Top finishings, super legible and you can choose between a classic color or something more fun. Furthermore you can also choose between the 41 mm case or the 38 mm case. I cannot ask for more considering that you can buy it for a relatively reasonable price compared with other options.
Micro adjustments would be nice too
My first love in this hobby, but I have yet to buy it. I will. I’ll add to the cons: no bracelet adjustment, and the fact that it does not taper, which I admit is a personal preference. Rest is pretty much perfect.
I agree but Omega's branding is too convoluted. It is a seamaster and also an aquaterra -- seems unnecessary to be double branded, especially confusing give the 1000+ watches they sell. In this regard they could learn from Rolex.
The main draw of a Rolex vs an equivalent Omega is the lack of planned obsolescence. With a Rolex, you are assured of a watch that would look current even 20 years down the road. Omega however has put into place planned obsolescence and will drastically change the design every 5 years or so.
@sharinglungs3226
2 жыл бұрын
Depends on how you look at it. Planned obsolescence also means more scarcity. If you want one that looks like x you need to buy used ones. Also means more evolution and less likely looking old fashioned and archaic. To me you buy a Rolex because it retains its value more and there’s enough people out there who will buy your watch solely for the brand name.

Most Rolex designs look old fashioned, the font on the Submariner's bezel looks like it's stuck in the 1950s. Omega's do hold value well. The Seamaster Professional and Aqua Terra's from the previous generation cost the same on today's second hand market as they did when first released.
I have the white/silver 41mm aqua Terra and love it. I wear it with suits, and jeans and a t-shirt. Great everyday watch.
IMO the Aqua Terra is the most perfect watch ever!!!!!!!!!!! It goes everywhere!!!!!!! And is gorgeous!!!!! Regards from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Love the channel... PS. If you could get the new Oris Rectangular to review, would be great!!!!
I bought a new 41mm black aqua terra about a year or so ago, love it. Best watch I own, comfortable (got it on the rubber strap), lovely looking dial, great movement, power reserve is awesome, for me fits all scenarios, looks good with a shirt and tie or shorts and t-shirt and a display case back. I also managed to get about £800 pounds off rental price which was the cherry on the cake!! The only thing for me is the screw down crown is small for my fat fingers!! :)
Very nice watch. VERY nice. I just bought a Lunar Pilot though, and this is way out of my budget. Still a great piece.
Got a Aqua Terra black and it's an amazing watch.
I have a AT grey dial with blue indecies on blue rubber strap. It's My absolute favorite watch. So much nicer and IMO better made than my old date just. Omega Is doing amazing things these days.
You didn’t mention the travel function;the hour hand can be moved separate from the hour and second hand.
You missed out on the fact that the co-axial movement requires far less service and will last longer as the movement has far less friction wear than a traditional pallet fork movement. Rolex says 5 years, Omega ADs have told me 8-10 years is about right. That means less frequent service, which can be had for $550 for a full service by Omega, a massive cost difference from Rolex, plus they send you your old parts, something Rolex will never do. Rolex is expensive jewelry that tells time. Omega is an awesome time piece at a reasonable price.
Absolutely love the AT. Just bought one brand new from AD for $1k under retail! It’s a good deal at MSRP compared to Rolex. For $1k under MSRP, it’s a bargain!
But it’s not half price, it’s actually more expensive than the OP. Also, you will lose money on one the moment to walk out the door of the AD, which is not the case with the Rolex.
That is exactly my watch. Couldn’t be happier with it. In my opinion a very versatile watch and comfortable.
I own this exact model and color. My first Omega. It's beautiful. This was my first butterfly clasp watch and I'm not so much of a fan. Otherwise, it's perfect to me.
Yes Sir, I bought one 3 month ago for a bit less than usd 5k in Thailand (or 1580,000 thb) and I am so satisfied with it. Best choice in this price range
Top notch watch. Incredibly comfortable with the integrated rubber band.
I heard that the Aqua Terra has glare resistant coating on the crystal, on the inside and outside, whereas Rolex OP does not have it at all. If this is true that’s a big deal. Glare really limits legibility.
Just tried this one on at an Omega boutique yesterday. Loved the look and fit, and I have a smaller wrist. Your site shows you are out of stock? Will you be getting any more in ?
I have a 38 mm ladies AQUA TERRA and am very happy with the purchase. The hands and hour marks are gold tinted and the dial surface with intricate waves is visually arresting, it's a watch that likely is a future classic!!
Gorgeous…. …. buuuuuut, I don’t think I could pick this over my Bluegauss or equivalent GS. Omega is like Porsche, can look underwhelming in photos, but amazing in person.
Yup; agreed! And I'd say the same thing for similar reasons of the SMP300 over the Sub, and the Speedy or even Speedy 38 over the Daytona. (And yeah, I own both Omegas, and would add I got both AD for less than the GM price of a Sub). Rolex though wears the crown on the President, and also the Datejust...both way beyond the Constellation imho. DeVille over Celleni but honestly Grand Seiko head and shoulders over both (and yeah, own GS). With Omega, the METAS is hard to beat, the dials and especially the ZrO2 dials under macros just look spectacular, the display backs, the co-axials with 10 year service intervals, etc., etc...
I have this watch and a very small wrist 41mm is perfect. I sometimes do 42 and 43mm. This is not a big watch at all. I absolutely love this piece. Forget he Rolex!
I love this watch, I bought the 40mm green dial and put it on a brown Cordovan leather cuff strap and I think it looks amazing, it's my daily wear.
I'm just curious if anyone knows why the butterfly clasp is a thing still? I don't know why you wouldn't want a traditional clasp with quick adjust
I’m drawn towards Omega. If I ever indulge in a luxury watch, this is where I’ll lean towards.
Great review T3, like button smashed! The Aqua Terra is a very nice watch and one I would like to have in my collection. I would like to see a comparison and your thoughts of the Aqua Terra compared to the Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80.
Agree with you this time 100%.
I went shopping, I tried on few stainless steel Rolex such as submarina, then I came back home with Solid rose gold Aqua terra with annual calendar(still sealed) because it was almost the same price or even cheaper than the SS rolex that I tried on. (I paid 127000USD equivalent by exchange rate on that day) I think it's crazy considering it's a great watch and the gold material cost itself would worth a lot, probably around 8-9000USD) So I think it was a great buy of an underated watch for Non Rolex enthusiast like myself
I love this watch with the white face. Are they still making these models ? Or is it just the bold coloured ones?
This is my daily driver. I am still smitten with after a month. This is what I got from it so far. It is a very good looking watch and very comfortable. I'll say the micro adjust doesnt bother me since I wear my watch loose. The thing I wish it had was better lume. It really not good at night. It helps with low light though. Water proof is great thing to have and not too chunky like dive watches. I have a dress watch and a G shock, but the AT can be my only watch.

By far better than Oyster Perpetual and buy it before it is out of market. Very very beautiful time piece if you are a watch lover.

Err, but the aqua terra has a bracelet with neither micro adjustment or on the fly adjustment so the bracelet option is pointless for people that don’t want their watch to flop about loosely on the wrist. The omega also has too many polished surfaces making it look blingy. I would love some omega's but with poor bracelets and dismal clasps I don’t give them a second look. I really love the look of the railmaster but I’ve discounted it as the bracelet won’t work for me.
