my theory on the lore: it was a person's birthday, and their parents took them to a birthday place. while they drove there, the car crashed. the kid survived, but the parents didnt. this made the kid so sad and depressed to the point where they fell off somewhere. this can be explained by the fact that you fall off the universe to move to other universes, and that the picture on the stack of blocks is a sad kid beside a deep pit. the kart racer is basically some sort of purgatory of the kid who fell off the cliff. the other entities in the game could be the parents, and victims of the guy with the axe.

although, atleast in later installments (the one i have atleast) when you try to do a trick in a spot you cant do a trick you do a little jump (and also some proffessionals use this to change directions faster i think too)

This game is one of the few horror games that actually unnerves me. The emptiness, the weird levels, the baby filled balloons, the bloody teeth, the guy with a hammer- it's all so weird and unsettling... I love it.

I always had a problem when it comes to "N64" style games where its just the game runs on 60 fps and not 20-30 fps but this game captures that and i love it!

FNAF did the same thing as kitty kart 64, since Clickteam Fusion is a 2D engine, every single part of the first 6 mainline fnaf games are all 3D renders used as sprites to give the illusion of a 3D game. It also provides this uncanny aesthetic that makes it feel like something is wrong, although you can't tell what, making everything seem outta place.

Also the balloon section is inspired, I believe, by Mario Kart DS's versus mode. I think Mario Kart Wii also has a similar mode.

Not too long ago I watched a few videos that explained some more stuff about Kitty Kart 64. I'll just list here what I know or what I still remember: - First off, the animal in the desert is a bunny, not a dog. - A drawing can be found somewhere in all or most of the 7 stages. Most of them show the sheep who also must have gone through these 7 stages. - Someone managed to translate what the white, faceless cats in the gloomy, flooded city actually say. The cat under the streetlight says that you don't have to be afraid and that he won't hurt you. The fishing cat tells you to go away because you're scaring away the fish. - The dark figure that hacks you to death at the finish line is known as the "Man in the Garage". - In the area with the many balloons you can find a mouse girl who claims that she shouldn't be there. When spoken to her again she anxiously says that she doesn't want to wake up, and then her head pops like a balloon. In this area a trophy surrounded by balloons can also be found but collecting it doesn't do anything at all. - And finally, regarding the music the music in the mud stage is called "Mud Karts", the music in the desert stage is called "Sand Karts", the music (if you can call it that) in the area with the cyan and pink blocks and the glitching bodies is called "Glitch Karts" if I remember correctly. The area with the many balloons is called "Congratulations" I think, the music in the gloomy, flooded city is called "Sonorous Karts", and finally the last area is called "Parking".

I decided to actually play the game for myself before watching this video, yeah safe to say I was pretty scared throughout and the only reason I beat it was my own curiosity. I’m still confused on that ending. I just realized this game is a metaphor, the only reason you go down this path and the cat dies is from your curiosity, curiosity killed the cat.

The parking lot feels like a slight reference to IMSCARED to me. Especially with the red arrows pointing you to your goal. Sadly the monster only appears when you cant run and DOESNT make bitcrushed droning when close.

I played like 7 minutes of this game, got bored and desinstaled. I never knew it was an horror game
