Someone has probably mentioned this already but this experiment with the silk screens has proven one thing to me. If you were to use a stencil rather than a silk screen the color would come out more vibrant, more like acrylic paint. PLUS, depending on how thick you make the top layer, that top layer could be textured!! Thanks for the inspiration Claire!!!

heyyyyy lovely - I did try stencils and they didnt work so great :( the paint would seep underneath - I only tried once though - however, I am sure there will be a way xxx I hope it works great for you xx

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Ahhh, but this isn’t paint, it’s jesmonite! I’m wondering if you couldn’t mix it to be kind of thick? So that it wouldn’t be as runny as paint? Also, I’m guessing there is a spray adhesive out there that is repositionable, that we could spray on the back of the stencils so they wouldn’t move. AARGH! So many What if’s! If I could just get my craft room organized I would give this all a try, but as it stands there is not one surface in that room that is open for crafting. I am completely overwhelmed :(

Molds&Shapes have outdone themselves yet again!? 😲😃 The trick with the silkscreen and the wonderful weathered effect was amazing too! 💜

Jasmonite is really a wonderful material, I can say this after watching your creation videos with Jasmonite 😍😍.Today's creations were somply so related to old times creations with natural mud,these tiles cluld actually give that feel,if used in our home walls💜😍💜😍,very impressive 😍😍

Beautiful, I have a suggestion for you I have never used homeware dyes or pigments whichever they are that you used. My suggestion is could you use them like acrylic paints when you use the silk screen. Since you know that when you use them they seal well when mixed inside the product. It was one of those things that popped into my mind every so often. If they are kind of thick they might work with the silk screen. Loved the video and those molds are amazing. Have a beautiful day.

We have started to use silk screening on our pottery class on the clay. Very effective! Just rewatched and where it is darker is where the jesmonite first landed.

I was thinking with the silk screen, if you do a thin layer let it dry a bit and then do another over the top you could get a stronger colour. Could use a heat gun and do a couple of layers of colour also

Claire you gave me addicted to silk screens now!! I had never seen them even used until you did a jesmonite piece a while back and I instantly fell into a rabbit hole and have only used one of them one time lol I've had issues finding the jesmonite ac100 here in the states so I'm wondering what would be a very similar option, I like that it's a rough chunky type mixture from what I can see and the eco resin is more fine I would say?? Haven't tried so can't tell but if you know where I can get it or what I could use in place of it to get similar effects id love that information!! I was here for the live but came in late and started it over and didn't interact because I knew I was behind everyone else but I truly enjoyed this, I was expecting you to do a quick piece with the cold cured jesmonite and the silk screen but I can never get enough on your channel I'm completely and utterly addicted to watching you! Your voice just brightens my day!! Much love and thank you for all you do!! ❤❤❤❤🤗

What if you use sticky backed stencils? I have made sticky stencils by spraying tacky glue on the back. I did this once to do a 3d design on a wall by using drywall mud with the sticky stencil . Or maybe a thinner mix of the jesminite? The mottled design does look pretty too though.❤

Hi! I was wondering… what if you used plain silk screen and cover the whole mold, apply jesmonite to fill up any bubble holes you may have?? Does that make sense? Do you think that would work? 😂 my brain is working over time right now 😂
