OMG, Silcone is a synthetic rubber used for breast implants, window sealing and many other uses that require a firm rubber like texture. Silicon is made from sand and is what is used to make electronic components.

Silly-CON. Silicon is the element, silicone is a polymer. Eg in silicone sealant. Here endeth the lesson.

One thing I do not understand is that the nanotubes allow acceptance of ions without swelling, but only because the tubes leave more space, but at the cost of reducing the amount of silicon material to absorb ions. It would seem you are giving up much as you are gaining in anode ion intercalation.

You seem to be pronouncing it "silicone" but spelling it silicon. These are two different things.

Even with current shortcomings with this tech it could be useful for military kamikaze drones. You only need to charge once anyway.

This a robotic view and old news. there are many companys working on silicon doped electrodes and other stuff. Panasonic just bought a company that has Silicon tech. Also the numbers seem way off.

Need better details explained in a way non technical minds can work with. it will be the non technicians (end consumers) who will make or break any new or existing products. Would somebody please tell the voice-over actor that the element Si is called SILICON (Si-Li-Con) NOT silicone! This seriously detracts from the credibility of your video!

I just thumbs-downed this in the first minute, and refuse to watch the rest of it until you pronounce the name of the element correctly. Even if you have credibility, pronouncing that word that way makes you lose it.
