@@jamesbrayall8288 sure, you can activate any switch to check if it’s a fault of the physical button or the motor/wires, you can then see the electrical values of the motor to confirm. This particular model though is an overkill for DIYers, if you’re a diyer and planning to just do diagnostics go with the mk808, it’s %15th the price of this one.

In this case you if you don't hear any noise coming from the door panel then yes probably switch, if you do hear something engage/sound when you press the switch from the door panel then it's the motor. To Diag the switch replace with another door panel switch if you can and try that. Or you can go down the rabbit hole and completely disassemble the switch itself and see if it's burnt or if you can make it work again by creating contact points work again. I've done some stuff

With Honda’s manufactured in Canada, they typically put the small batteries in their units sold in the US. Just replace with the larger Canadian battery for cold climates. It’s larger, more CCA’s and will last twice as long as the crappy batteries that come with the unit.

The company that makes your new scanner Autel.. I think is the same company that's making, battery-operated, remote-controlled, flying quad copter drones. And seeing that your scanner also has a waveform generator and an oscilloscope. Makes me also think. They've adapted this gizmo. From a recording studio/radio station, equipment alignment device. It's what I used to use with, good old-fashioned, American-made, tape recorders. By Ampex, 3M, Scully and MCI. Which was later bought out by Sony. I used to live 600 feet from. In Ft. Lauderdale. Aunt declined their offer and an offer from Ampex. To go to work forr,, Scully. Only 3M didn't offer me a job. What do they know? I was one of the besst. Just like you Scotty! I knew my way around a tape recorder, transport. And knew how to make the audio electronics, even better. And some of my machines from 1979 are still going. I was informed of in recent times. As they sent me pictures of my test data sheets with my signature on them. Yup! Cooll! I built them real good. So they would keep on going like the Energizer Bunny. And was great fun and my honor to make them, better. Of course that was after the Beach Boys stopped, Making records. And Jimi Hendrix died. And Tommy James got away from the Mafia. A lot of folks used, Scully's. And so that looks like one incredible scanner. For someone with a late model car. I can't imagine it has much to read on,, earlier year models? Like my 2003,, Ford, E-150 or the 2007, Honda CRV. And since I'm not a mechanic. I will opt for the recording studio tester version. As I'm sure it's just that thing but much much less. As it's not going to test, your computer. If it's making a couple of lousy audio measurements. Or testing the integrity of a, composite and/or component, digital video signals? This company is in that business. And makes some flying drones for recreational and industrial use. And apparently they are also a Chinese company like DJI.. But they are run by Americans or something like that? And apparently not as big a threat as DJI may be? But I digress. Love your channel Scotty! K-Keep on keeping on! Step-by-step. Niagara Falls! Woo wwoo woo! RemyRAD

Electronic parking brakes are about as smart to have on a car as electron shifters are. Good luck if you dont' have power and need to tow your car and need to disengage parking brake and get the transmission into neutral.. Because it doesn't have any power. Some models do have a manueal lever in the truck for the parking brake, but for the transmission you gotta get the jack out and get under the car usually to get in neutral. Just another couple things to break and cause you problems

Why don't these scan tools group all the "trouble" at the top so you don't have to finger through the list? Why can't they detect if you now have a new battery and ignore lodging a code based on your old situation?

And a weekend turning wrinches to fix these problem we as simple as going to your local auto zone. Pick up a simple part. And replacing. Gone are the days of a simple car. Scotty-would you tell be which OBD2 reader would be best for being able to program a fob (without a programmed fob), please? Also, you did a review of an OBD2 reader (friend with a big red truck who came to show you) that was about $700. I went to your list of suggestions, but it’s not there. And, I don’t know if it even does the fob programming stuff. Also, some of the scan tools make you pay each time you reset the computer (I think I read that)? Can you please help me understand and make the best purchase for me?

How can I make it work to use this bidirectional scanner to do what I bought it for. Any advice will help since AUTEL basically just told me I am screwed. Please help!

I bought an old, used OBD1 scanner off of eBay, Actron CP9185. It works great, reading my 94 Ciera 3.1liter, and my landlord’s 94 Chevy Silverado 5.7liter TBI. Though both are 1994s, the Chevy truck uses the old OBD1 codes, that are two numbers, first code blinks the check engine light 3 times, blinking 1, 1-2, 1, 1-2, 1, 1-2 for code 12, meaning it’s talking to the computer ok. If any other codes are stored, they’ll blink next. Meanwhile, the OBD1.5, as it’s called, is an OBD1 connector, but sends OBDII codes, P0320, for example, the cat converter code.

Hey Scotty, all the scan tool videos and you keep saying to find someone like yourself to go through codes to reset modern systems after simple repair, how modern of a car are you referring too? If I have a 90's model or 00's which scan tool am I good with? I understand different models find different things, but how much modern technology do I need for a car with limited to minimal technology? Thanks for everything you do

You should point out, how right the guy was by doing 55mph. I told an employee on a trip from Canada to Florida not to exceed 100kilo per hour/60 mph, while pulling a trailer with a minivan. I would wake up from a nap and he would be doing 140. Had to change the motor when I got back and the tranny went soon after. You can pull a heavy trailer by taking it easy, but you will kill the vehicle and leave yourself stranded if you push it hard.
