And you also lied about his usage which is 23.9. He shouldnt be the first option to begin with players like pascal and OG. I actually really like this kind of list because it’s not claiming that one player is better than the other it’s just ranking snapshots of their season so far. For example SGA is my favorite player. Do I think he’s better than Giannis overall? Not really. But is he having a better season so far? Yeah. I think this is a great way to acknowledge what players are doing without having to definitively say that one is better than the other.

    @@yodahekidanu9006 I mean comparing a guard’s stats to a big’s stats is always a weird comparison because they do such different things but looking purely at the numbers the only basic statistical categories that Giannis is clearly ahead of SGA in are rebounds and blocks. I haven’t looked at advanced stats so maybe those favor Giannis but my original comment wasn’t about just stats. The Thunder and the Bucks have basically the same record rn. Going into the year which one of those teams would you have said is better? That’s why I think SGA has had a better season so far. The Thunder go as he goes and as of right now they are second in the west, where nobody thought they’d be.

  • @yodahekidanu9006

    @yodahekidanu9006

    @@spencerwarner9268 before the season started I think most people would of put the thunder as a playoff team, they weren’t considered so much worse than the bucks. The thunder are also doing worse than the bucks record wise. So because the bucks have a higher winning percentage and Gianni’s have marginally better stats (pts,rebounds,true shooting etc), I would put him over shai, slightly.

  • @spencerwarner9268

    @@yodahekidanu9006 aight bro. They are both great players so I’m not gonna argue with you in KZread comments or try to talk down on Giannis. I know what he’s doing all I was saying is the bucks (who were a lot of people’s championship pick) have the same number of losses and one more win (because they’ve played one more game) than the OKC Thunder (who a lot of people said would make the playoffs as like the 7th or 8th seed). That combined with the fact that he doesn’t have anybody of Dame’s caliber on his team to take defensive pressure off him and he’s still putting up mvp type numbers is why I said I believe Shai has had a better start to the season.

Do wish defense played a bigger part but I'll take it. Luka with a first half trip dub and Embid with 50 the day this video drops is fitting as well.

    "Hard to argue with numbers." I don't think it is "hard to argue with numbers" there are games where if I look at the boxscore, it'll say one thing, if I see the game I walk away with a completely different opinion. I've seen a clip recently where a team was allowed a timeout when they didn't have possesion, when it was a 2 point game with like less than 10 seconds left. These numbers seem to be very heavily reliant on wins, so imagine one team has 2-3 wins that it really shouldn't have. Games are sometimes decided by 1-2 points, and multiple bad calls and foul trouble or ejections can have huge impacts on games. Anyways a win here, a win there, and this list would probably look way different (also any team that shouldn't have lost would now have a win where they had a loss) like there are times when someone can look at a boxscore and think one thing then if they see the game, they might see a charge called where it should've a blocking foul. A couple of charges can put a player into foul trouble and limit their minutes. While a blocking foul likely would give them free throws.

    stats in general are useful, relying on a single stat that ignores so much is not. especially since the metric seems to be almost entirely based on game score, which is just putting standard box score numbers through a formula. If you are going to use stats alone to rank players imho you need to at least look at basic on/off numbers and how their team offense and defense looks when they are on the court. Basketball games aren't won simply by box score numbers.

    Respectfully….you are wrong about the KAT being the best wolves player rn. Edwards has been that guy and you said he hasn’t made a jump but that’s statistically. If you watch you would know he has made a huge jump from last year. KAT been playing great rn ngl but I’d say even gobert has been better than towns. Towns playing well for sure tho and that is a big part of why we are number 1 seed rn

    I will never understand why you guys are unable to evaluate players in the moment of the given season. Yes we know Giannis had amazing run in the playoff 2 years ago, but it doesnt erase the fact there have been struggles with bucks in beggining of the season cause of dame trade. IN THIS SEASON IN THIS MOMENT, shai has been the second best performer in the league, its so obvious. Nobody is saying he is better than giannis or this or that, its just about performance in first THIRD of the season. So chill
