@@tealblade2994 Highly doubt that consoles would run Java edition even half decent in vanilla. Java is largely just a jumbled mess of botched together solutions that's held on duct tape and prayers. Consoles with their toned down specs and a bunch of bloat constantly running in the background would grind to a halt and catch on fire while trying to process the jank lighting and block states.

Semicolon I play primarily Java and can still attest that it’s a lot less stable than Bedrock. However, Java also has its advantages in return for its lack of performance stability.

The mountains in the update are nothing compared to Terraforge but are still a vast improvement from what the mountains were before 1.17.

I really wish vanilla Minecraft looked a little more like this, it doesn’t need to be so extreme but man this mod looks amazing!

Imo the perfect terrain generation would be just large biomes but mountains can go to max height. Amplified kinda does this but in a really messy way and it ruins the immersion.

@@sebastiandewolfe7849 I'm gonna tell you, Java's pretty tedious and strenuous to code compared to others. And I think the MC devs are playing very safe with their updates(maybe too safe), and it seems they aim for simplicity most of the time(this is why most of their updates ain't pretty invasive compared to most mods). This is just an assumption, though(except the Java part, I'm taking BSCS and I'd rather learn C++ and C#).

It's their job to develop the game, how hard it is does not matter. If a modder could make minecraft this much better why wouldn't mojang be able to? What you said made no sense at all. Fans who just "appreciate what's there for them" are pretty much useless aside from giving the company money, for they don't give the least incentive for the game to improve. I'd say that the people who criticize for the sake of the game are much more of fans than those who just accept whatever's thrown at them.

as everything digital it has to be coded and doing so requires lot of effort knowledge lore creativity and last but most important TIME, we don't know for how long the mod was in process of making but i'm sure i took more than a month, second important factor is that bringing such a seed generator would bring troubles to other platforms if wished to implement there as well, and you never know if the bugs wouldn't start to occur as the time goes, and if this kind of seed gen. is more or at least as stable as the standard one we have now. We also have to remember that owner of minecraft is a company like any other and they are looking for profits not for pleasure of costumers if you know what i mean, imo it'd be to much hussle for them to do that

Not saying it didn't take a long time but rather that the processes involved are very well documented. tl;dr: This is basically what happens when you apply modern open world algorithms to Minecraft.

The part where you walk around with shaders on makes me feel like playing Minecraft for the first time again, it's absolutely beautiful

I have a 1080ti + i7-9900k and got like 45-50fps on the lowest minecraft settings with this 4k textures, this textures are only viable if you have a 2080 or a nasa sli. I really prefer play with optifine to play with shit fps like this.

@@VanitasKZread memory also plays a big role, so if youre running slower (sub 3600) or 8gb or even high CAS, or dont have much memory allocated to the game, its gonna struggle. Also i7 9900k doesnt exist, the 9900k is an i9 series.

I love this! It is even more incredible when combined with Ambient Sounds 3, Sound Filters and Chocapic 13 Ultra Shaders.

I really hope the Java edition lives on indefinitely, the whole modding community and shader support just makes the game for me, the bedrock version is like a walled garden, hindering devs creativity, forcing payment for simple things, and Microsoft just keeps pushing it over the Java edition

@L They are 2 completely different version of the game (technically speaking) with a few minor gameplay diferences, Java edition is the classic Minecraft everyone knows and loves, Bedrock edition came from Minecraft PE and was ported to consoles and win 10

The transition form soil to stone blocks makes the hills and mountains just that more realistic especially the shape of them as if they had undergone erosion from glaciers

I agree. Most mountains are below the treeline entirely, and even peaks that go above it have trees up until the cutoff.

Yea. Here in washington, theres loads of mountains, and almost all of them, even the peaks, are dotted with trees. Except the summit of the volcanos here.

@@cmw184 Foliage depends on incline, altitude, and climate. There are several characteristics which play into the growth of flora and how that varies across different climatic regions. In my opinion, having few trees on the mountains in this game really highlights the algorithm used to generate mountain dynamics. It's also going to be easier to build there.

Amazing... I hope this is still being updated. Those mountains are just perfect for some mega builds like Dwarven cities or mountain keeps

i use this mod with like sub 10 render distance and it's still by far my favourite! it has presets that are optimised for lower render distances so it's definitely worth giving a try even if you have low specs

The Minecrafts normal terrain is just ugly as hell Just like Nether, their terrain generator is Just messy, they also take too long for updating the game. Minecraft is made on java, fucking JAVA, onde of the easiest Scripting programs. Monjang is lazy as hell.

Its beautiful, ive looked at this for 5 hours now

I’m going to brag here and say that somehow my used laptop which had a dead bug inside of it for years, ran sims 3 and 4 with expansions, and somehow Minecraft all at the same time, before almost dying after years of it, only to now freeze and kill itself every once in a while. I am truly blessed.

This looks indeed incredible. What I think would also be cool, would be some sort of 'living minecraft'. Where aspects of terrain generation are altered (randomly...) as you travel into the world. So you could really never know what you'd find, and everything would be (even more) different, every time. Like, even, 'biome mutations'! I think this could also be very interesting.

More like "just wait until someone makes a mod of it so we don't have to put it in the game ourselves." That's an actual part of the criteria when making new updates and features, they don't usually put it in if there's already a mod of it.

Console players can't get mods, and some people with PC's also can't get certain mods due to laws in their country that is blocking the mod website, or just because their PC specs aren't necessarily top quality. Theoretically, if the update idea is on high demand, we would have a chance of getting a new terrain generation update.

@@pixistix_ I took that into account but was more like "It's not fair to do this because most players don't have easy access to modded gameplay" but I really don't know what to think now. Maybe you're right and there's some other reason that popular, reasonable suggestions just don't get added to the game because it's somehow harder to do.

This music and the view is so relaxing

This remind me of "realistic terrain generator" a mod that he already covered, VERY similar (generator wise) to this one, just whit less details and less stuff overall, sadly they stop updating it on 1.10. As someone that already played every version of minecraft for thousands of hours and that build huge stuff having a cool terrain its a must, and spending 40 hours terraforming stuff its not fun on survival, but sadly none of the mods that i like can be used in recent versions. but this, just put a smile on my face. I cant thank you enough for this, now i can build my kingdom whitout having to terraform at all and even if i just want to play this mod is just EPIC. thank you. for real. The only missing piece is shaders but that wouldnt be an issue very soon.

I think that was only because it was in a swamp/marshlands biome. (Terraforged does add some new biomes such as steppe and marsh land and warm beach, for example.)

This mod combined with Biomes o' Plenty is absolutely godlike.

I wouldn't go that far. Adding biomes o plenty makes the biome placement worse in my opinion

Might try doing some building with this terrain! While I can't run shaders like that without lagging, I think, as long as I don't have too many mods I can run it? Hopefully don't crash when I try
