Predecessor dev team and their CEO are all former competitive streamers for Paragon. They didn't want to wait to see if someone would use all the free assets epic released for paragon after shutting it down, so they learned unreal and decided to remake the game.

Here's hoping there's going to be a nice influx of new players when the open beta starts. Would suck if it ends up suffering the same fate as Fault and Overprime.

Pred had the best chances to succeed from the beginning out of all paragon successors.. I'm optimistic about it. Let's hope it can live up to its potential

I hope so too. I love moba's and put tons of hours into smite and league. The main issue I see is that Predecessor doesn't do enough to really stand out. Also, the verticality is really only accessible to certain characters. I will say, the one thing they got really right was the items and kits themselves. I think the game would be very balanced if the verticality was more accessible, but it feels really bad getting stuck somewhere when everyone else can just jump up to a high ledge and shoot you while you have nowhere to go. I'm sure it's just part of the games skill curve but even as an experience moba player it felt so awful. I'm sure new players will feel it too.

I am close to 1000 hours and I still cannot get enough of this game. It is really good once you get the hang of it

But can it compete with smite 2? Will this game pull players from that game? I play a lot of smite and definitly will check this game out but smite won't be put to the side very easy. Time will tell.

Pred is still more personal and immersive when it comes to the gameplay experience. You're just simply way closer in the fight than in smite, what I've seen so far. The graphics also seem to be better, even with smite's enhancement. If something will pull players then this will probably be it.. and the simplicity with its low hero count, which makes it easier for new players to learn. But yes, in the end we'll have to see ourselves. Definitely keepin an eye out for smite 2 as well :)

I’ve put in about 600 hrs into this game. Highly recommend
