Always fun to check out a brand new watch from a brand new brand. Do they play it safe or go for broke? What do youu think Monro did? Cheers, Jody

You do have to admire this watch's versatility. It has GMT, world time, and, if you're in a pinch, you can use the case as a wok.

Hi All, thank you so much for the comments, we are only a small start up and wanted to do something different and not too generic. We know this will divide the room but you have to go with what you believe in. We have massive plans and have already designed 5 new models that we hope will appeal to everyone. Once again thank you for the comments and have a great weekend.

I like the case shape and the slanted knurling. Those fixed lugs are confident and confidence is attractive! I have a different taste with hands and indexes (I prefer thicker hands and differing indexes for better legibility), but don't let me dampen your spirits, I'm not buying any watches now... I just wanted to let you know that I like the air your watch puts out and I feel like you'll have success. :)
Design, specs and proportions are all over the place
This is very interesting, and you really can't argue at under £200. I think I would like it more it a more reserved colour, the blue or green look nice. I think my main complaint here is that a travellers watch and an adventure watch are really two markets with little intersection. An adventure watch can be large but needs higher wr, brushing to hide the scrapes and less complications. A travellers watch needs a thinner profile and smaller dimensions generally. Here, you get the size of an adventure watch with the specs of a traveller. And fixed lugs are great for an adventure watch, but at 14mm you are then pushing dangerously close to 17mm/19mm total thickness..... fine, but at that height and 44mm it wont travel well and with 100m wr it doesn't complete with a diver.

@@alfieakaronaldog 😁 I think my only real negative is the thickness on a mandatory nato, which I could ignore at £200. It just feels like an odd combination of goals that are not really compatible.
IMO, this is a design studio that is so intent on designing something different that they didn't really ensure that they designed something cohesive. Don't like the case, don't like the lugs, don't like the polished finish on everything. I do like the dial, hands, crowns and early bird price.

Came to say something similar. The watch appealed to me until I saw the side profile. That case shape in full polish is just too much for me. Too bad, cause there are parts of this watch that do well.
Ouch! That double pass rubber under that pie plate case is monumental. And not in a good way. I like the world traveler genre, but this one's not for me.
Great, a watch that looks like a wok pan - just what we needed. 🍜
1/2 off for a new set of bowls? Sounds good.
The bezel and crowns give an interesting geared look. However, the rest of the design element don’t flow well together, to my eye at least, and the size and thickness make it something that I could never see myself wearing. I am not even sure that I would stop to give it a second look if I were already in a watch shop with the money burning a hole in my pocket.
There is another option for straps, although not saying that will increase the options by much. There are also straps that have some sort of screw to open/close the strap loop that attaches to the fixed lugs. For example Vario offers those for their 1918 Trench watches.
Nice to see another "affordable" microbrand GMT with decent specs and wonderful colours, especially the orange. Great video Jody!
The only design element I can't understand is the pressure rating. The package looks like it is set up for some globetrotter in beast mode...but if you start really thrashing around in water it might get a bit leaky. I would have expected 200m WR (at least), or even go full Ray Mears and get it sealed up to 300m WR.

I have yet to sport a leak on any decent watch with 100m WR rating for any water activity I involve myself in, incl. light scuba diving. I've also taken my Hamilton Khaki Field and Bulova Lunar Pilot (both rated at 50m) for a swim many a time, no issues whatsoever. 50m WR is plenty enough for most uses one would encounter, the question is only if the manufacturer can stick within the design tolerances and I found that most decent watchmakers can.
Bloke next door's got an old MG and the headlights look remarkably similar. Good vid Jody 8-)
Agree it is a bit of mishmash of design elements but at the early bird price might be appealing. Thanks for another great review.
I live a fairly active outdoor lifestyle and the last thing I want when I’m in the wild is large metal bobble flopping around on my wrist. The form/function ratio seems off on this one.
Beautiful...love the twisted knurling. The minute hand opening that crests over the hour hand is spectacular. Details like that make me geek out!
I’m loving this watch the depth could be an issue but the white and stealth black are lovely. Good starting point.
The size is crazy in combination with the case shape.
@Subcomandante73

It is an adventure watch so you can use the case as a soup bowl :)
The £399 RRP seems very high as it has the same specs (and less WR) than either the Cestrian or Depth Charge dive watches. At £199 it seems okay value.
I was seriously thinking about this until: 44mm & Automatic. I shouldn't admit this but I'm so tired of automatic watches. It's been solar or nothing for me for a little while now and that seems to be working out just fine. As to size, I definitely have some 44mms but that's the very highest upward limit for me and I already have more watches than I want in that size. I was extremely glad when the downward trend in watch size started. Right around 40 seems to appeal most to me with anything in the 38-42 range being just fine. Also, the non-screw down crown is not good for me. I somehow manage to catch the crown on things and I've damaged several watches this way. A non-screw crown on dress watches is fine but for a daily driver? Probably better for me to avoid. $250 and an Orange dial does sound nice (with a black rubber strap or steel bracelet, the orange rubber strap is just too much orange...). And the green looks like a keeper also. With only one exception, the few green watches I have are very bright green. If anyone picks up one of these, maybe a post a few weeks after you pick it up with info on how you like it??

I would love an quartz watch that has a clean swoop. Im sure the technology to do it efficiently exists. As for solar, because i know that letting the capacitors discharge kills the watch, i avoid it for the convenience of being able to replace the battery instead of the entire unit if something goes wrong.

I actually love the fixed lugs, I was really digging this watch but too thick and too large for my wrist!
Great review! As always, your review is very unbiased. As for the watch, I love all the attention to detail here. I especially like the world time chapter ring, that is a really nice touch. I do however feel that the fixed lugs, bowl shape(which to me think back to a trench style watch maybe ?) and the dial hands keep this watch on the undecided list for me. I wish them well. I think they are going in the right direction!!
44mm is a no go for me sadly. I’ve been waiting on more micro brands using the NH34, but sadly this one is just way too large for me.
I think I will go for the black PVD version - really like this watch.
Ive been on the fence on this one but im in, trying to decide orange or green. Im a sucker for a cool chapter ring lol.
I’ll take it in orange… I have not purchased a micro brand in a while… I like what they’ve done here and it will be my first foray into fixed wire lugs… as always. Thanks for the great video.
Love them. Clear and coherent design. Very much a tool watch. Too big for everyday wear? Maybe not, my Straton is 44 and 15 thick, perfectly comfy on a nato, anyday. Thanks 😊.
Great review, Jody! I think it's a decent enough watch for the price. The thickness wouldn't be such a problem for me if the lugs were different. From the side, it kind of looks like a soup bowl on your wrist. I like the dial and the overall look, but the thickness and lugs are a turn-off.
It’s a nice looking watch, but just a bit too large for me, and I’ve never understood fixed lugs. Thanks for the showing us the watch!
I can't really fault them with the 120 click bezel. This is an issue that even expensive watches can have. I'm looking at you, Montblanc Timewalker Chrono. The profile shot makes this thing look like a salad bowl strapped to your wrist. Some cases work well oversized. This is not one of them.
Not bad. It's too big for me, but for someone with a large wrist it should serve them well. I look forward to them doing a diver in the 42mm range.
Id get this if it had normal lugs. 42/44mm is my perfect size and it has got nice functions with the gmt. But it seems its already a thick watch and limiting it to only nato style straps make it even more bulky.
It looks like you have a pot-pie on your wrist.
I like the orange or the green

Thanks Jody! the Arctic White looks great. This would be a great first mechanical watch for an adventurous person who can handle this chunky block! Quite liking the slogan, it's on point I think. Now I just have to distract myself while the sale is live to save some money. Cheers!
What is the upper crown for?
Very nice. I like it. Not bad on the price.
Never big on early bird deals. I've missed out on a few and I am just not keen on paying more because I wasn't one of the first 100 adopter. Either way, it's nice, and I hope to see more from them under 44mm.
I like the design overall, but I agree second hand looks too small as part of the whole. I’m also not sure I can spare 16 mm off the top of my wrist. Still very tempting though. I’ll have to see what I’m thinking in the 19th.
"If you can't say something nice don't say anything at all" is my motto..
Interesting piece. Something about the logo makes me think “Medical”, a cross between the Royal Flying Doctor Service and a Defibrillator logo, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
This one will definitely get a look. Logo looks like a sunrise over mountains to me.
Great review Jodi. This one seems fine for the right person and for a first outing I would definitely consider it a step beyond other first attempts.
Hi Jody, hope you are fit and well. Great review as always, I do like the look of this watch but it is to big for me. Would have gone for it, if it had been a 40mm and did not have fixed lugs. I have a watch with fixed lugs already and it can be a bit of a bind. Hope they are succesful with this watch and look forward to their next design. Keep up the good work
Spec monster - style monstrous. Genuinely looking forward to the next releases though. Good luck 🤞🏽
Nice, but I'd prefer it with a clean chapter ring. The polished case would also get scratched to shit I think. Like the look of the orange one though.
This is a cool watch, I just wish it had traditional lugs and bracelet options
i got mine and its brilliant it doesn't wear as big as you think
I love the dial and hands, but i wish it was just a regular diver because the gmt stuff makes it way too busy.
38mm and 42mm options would capture most of the market. Not so thick though. Bit of a silly size choice in 2023 really. Pretty watch and nice style
Orange seems to indeed be the new black :)

Love that shirt
I love that bright, seductive orange dial with the black bezel. However, I wonder how difficult it would be to find a bracelet that would work. Those lugs look like separate pieces that were welded on, which is a strange choice to me. When it's on your wrist, it does look like a pot sitting on a stove because of the shape and thickness of the case.
That calendar on the back is spot on. Plus or minus 0 months.
It is a good first effort. Nice to see someone not playing safe and pushing the envelope a little.
Great watch! One thing you missed to observe, it is built to stay on your wrist, it can't be pulled from it quickly and by force. It is a daily watch, for sure, made for NATO straps. An excellent design. Personally, I don't care for threaded crowns - I destroyed a thread of a titan case. I don't dive.
Did you mention if it's a callers gmt or a travelers gmt?
Just a guess but the side view looks like a funky fire 🔥 pit grab some firewood 🪵 lawn chairs and some beers and head for the beach 😂
I think adventure will take me to a slightly smaller watch. Great review as always!
It looks like a monster watch, so big and thick. Did they make this for the Incredible Hulk andr Hulk Hogan?
I think a decent effort, good value and attention to detail. The logo makes me think Mini but it’s just too big even for us gorillas and it rides very high. Might’ve different if I had it in hand.
I was all in until the dimensions. I'll stretch to 41mm but 44 is excessive.
This fixation with orange.
This is abysmal. Whoever designed this gets credit for originality, but a massive fail in execution. I think they are going to have to keep giving these away to KZreadrs to find enough suckers to buy one...
Matt finish might make the thickness less obvious and the indices are too long making the hands too short. Love the look of fixed lugs but prefer Panerai style lugs so two piece straps fit.
Look good but it needs 200m of waterproofing to clinch a deel from me
Nice looking watch and if you can carry off wearing a larger watch then for £200 it’s a bargain, nice choice of colours too 👍
Fantastic review - I like em
I was warming to this till the down-the-arm shot of it on your wrist, where it looks about 50mm thick unfortunately. Thanks, as always, for showing though.
Nice watch but for an adventure watch I feel it should of had a brushed case.
The dial design is quite nice. But it looks like hockey puck on your wrist. Actually more like a cereal bowl! Nato strap only approach makes the thickness issue even worse though there are plenty aftermarket straps that won’t add. Odd size and thickness choices made here. 100m water resistance is totally fine but given the size of this thing, 200m should have absolutely been the result. Definitely not a watch for me but could be nice on an 8”+ wrist.
An impractical watch with practical touches.
Agree with most of the other comments on here. Too shiny, too big and the fact that you have to use a nato or another pass through strap doesn’t help either. Otherwise great review
I like it, but it is too thick for my small wrist. A good start for the company thought.
Not a bad looker. The design elements are very impressive. I particularly like the Arctic White with the grey strap. But after seeing it on wrist, I'm kind of turned off. It looks like a flying saucer has landed on your wrist. Just too thick, with the reverse concave shape making it appear even higher. And a NATO watch strap is only going to compound that. I have a fairly large wrist, but I don't think I can pull this off. Even my divers are only 42. And as many mentioned, if you want an all around "adventure" watch, 200 m. WR seems to be the dead minimum. Maybe acceptable for the half off price. But for full price, 100 m. WR doesn't cut it for a watch of this style.
Interesting wristwatch. Looks a bit more like a wristwok. You might be able to cook some fried rice in that thing.

Ha Ha ... that's what I thought as well !
You lost me at 44mm and 51mm but it looks like a good watch for the big boys and I wish the makers the best with their launch.
I was on board... then a seen that, bell, shape of the watch. Combine that with the pass through strap requirement, and I'm going to pass. That all black version was calling to me, though.
Really nice, but it's a shame that fixed lugs
It looks really good, but 42mm is pushing it for me so 44mm would be just way to big. It is also quite thick so I would imagine hitting, getting it stuck a lot, but maybe that's just me.
Hi watch lovers from England, little story, I was looking for a watch, impulse buy, seen a Rotary GMT Pepsi watch second hand in great condition. I purchased for £59. New they are about £180. Mine is not in a new box, but a vintage style Rotary box which sell for about £20 on eBay. So I am extremely happy. I never thought I would ever buy a second hand watch but WOW.
Too chunky for me, but a nice first go round for a new company. If they take your reviews recommendations, they will have a very good watch.
I am no watch marketing expert, however I would have not chosen a GMT style for my 1st release. Not everyone needs/likes the GMT style so I would think it would limit the buyers. And 44mm is good for me but too big for a lot of people. Overall it is a really good looking watch.
Fair price, interesting handset, nice straps, some positive design features, nice colorway choices. But big watch, so much polished SS, date should be at 6, other limitations & design issues (likely my personal preferences), so this is an easy pass for me. I do wish them luck with the campaign.
I don't like it. I don't like the thickness. I don't like how far it sits off of the wrist. I don't like the high polish. I don't like the lug design at all. 🤢
For 200 quid that's a great holiday watch, looks quite fun and your up for some mad adventure. Bit wild for the rest of the year but we can't be sensible all the time 🤪
I still dont get the issue with color matching date wheel. it looks so get otherwise. I would have gone for t otherwise because it looks otherwise perfect. bummer.
Well it’s different and ideal for those who insist on not wearing watches with a bracelet. Ridiculously tall on the wrist and is likely to catch on everything in the vicinity. Looks almost like a fob watch with a couple of lugs welded on it from the side view. For £400 you can have a proper Seiko ISO rated dive watch and even £200 will get you something decent from Citizen, so not really that much of a bargain, especially given the size and side profile.
As soon as you mentioned the Seiko movement my heart sank.😢
It’s a nice looking watch but as an outdoor/adventure style watch it’s just to shiny for me. The size doesn’t bother me as I own 40mm-44mm watches. The lugs let it down imo as you can only wear that style of strap. Hopefully they will do well though as I think if they do get established then I think they can do some very interesting watches
