LG's mounting system works across most of their monitors, so you can swap it with other LG monitor stands and Ergo mount. But you also have to account for the weight of the monitor.

I think he was saying (with maybe not so precise wording) that LG’s Nano IPS makes it more expensive to add more dimming zones, meaning this monitor would be much more expensive if it had as many dimming zones as a mini LED monitor. According to LG, the difference with Nano IPS is that they apply, “nanometer-sized particles to the screen’s LED to absorb excess light wavelengths.” So it makes sense to me based on that description that it would be more expensive if they added more LEDs.

It only allowed me to run 94 fps. It only gave me 144 fps 2 times. Never understood why. The flickering was only during loading screens and before i jumped out the plane on warzone. Other than that the monitor was beautiful and i loved the new design. I played it for about 3 weeks and i actually returned it recently to preorder the new 27’ oled.

Started as a decent enough review as long as it was about the stand and packaging, but took a turn for the worse as soon as it got technical: - At around 09:45. "Most things are 8 bit color"? Yeah... true... except for HDR content. Sorry, that was just downright stupid. HDR without 10 bit colors would be kinda moot because without that, all HDR would be is pretty much just a higher peak brightness. The ability to display more color variations is integral to HDR. It _would_ have been interesting to mention whether this is 8-bit + FRC or an actual 10-bit display. According to DisplayDB, this is 8-bit + FRC, by the way. - The distinction between IPS and Mini-LED seems pretty odd, too. IPS is the display, Mini-LED is the backlight. You could have an IPS display with Mini-LED backlighting. If I'm not mistaken, most Mini-LED monitors out there actually do use an IPS panel.... also, at $1000, it's pretty obvious this isn't Mini-LED, since a 32" Mini-LED costs about three times as much. And OLEDs do not have dimming zones. - Around 13:05 you have the next bit of nonsense: "you wanna be going about twice as fast as your refresh rate"? Seriously? Sure, if you don't want Freesync or GSync to actually work, you would want that. The entire point of VRR is _not_ to do that. As long as your 1% lows are within the sync range of your display, you are actually using your monitor. That sync range is usually from around 50% of the refresh rate up to the refresh rate of your display. I've never seen a VRR display that actually supports syncing frame rates _above_ its refresh rate, so VRR is disabled if that happens. Normally, you limit your frame rate to something close to the max refresh rate of your monitor (for example, 119 FPS for a 120 Hz display), disable VSync and let GSync / Freesync do its thing. Oh... and one of the good things about VRR? Those drops from 140 to 100 FPS will not cause a stutter or screen tear, so you most likely will never notice them. That's the whole point of VRR. - "A dollar per nit"? That's probably the stupidest measurement of "display quality" I've ever heard... you do realize you haven't checked the actual peak brightness of the display and even then, you won't get that peak brightness in most cases. So... what's the point of "dollar per nit"? LG's specs for this, by the way, state the brightness at 450cd (typically). I assume they mean cd/m², so that's just 450 nits. It's now over "2 dollars per nit". Is that still good value in this stupid measurement? - Way too much time spent on that "overclocking" bit, too. Either a screen can do 160 Hz or it can't. The manufacturer saying "144 Hz overclockable to 160 Hz" just means "we want to advertise 160 Hz, but we don't want to actually guarantee it". Touting this as a "feature" is ridiculous and should not be praised in a review... and you should review it as a 144 Hz panel, since that is what the manufacturer actually guarantees. Sorry, but there's just so much complete nonsense in this video... this was terrible.

1440p on 32" is still pretty good. Text is still crisp af at that size, but getting closer you 'do' start to see pixelated edges. If for some reason you just can't stand that, like it hurts you or something, then yes, go for 4k on anything 32"+. But, I've owned a 27" 1440p monitor and now have a 32" 1440p 'ultra'wide monitor, and I can't tell any difference in perceived pixel density. (ultra is in quotes because Gigabyte has a 34" version that I regrettably passed on... and worse, they just released an updated version of both the 32 and 34 model that has better specs... buyer's remorse to the max.) Personally, I think 4k on 32" screens is a bit pointless when 1440p is still so crisp, and you'd have to pretty much be nose to screen to see pixel jagged edges. I'd rather they put more effort, and price, elsewhere than 4k panels for 32" and under screens.

The only reason to get this over say, the Inzone M9 is the size which I don’t feel justifies the extra $100 for worse HDR performance. If you’re really into HDR, you’re better off spending the extra cash on a Neo G8. If you just want 4k 144hz, you’re better off with a M28U or 4k G7 for literally half the price at $500. These days most of youtube channels don't even try to make a proper review and instead function as some sort of short advert. I don't know have you noticed, literally two thirds of this video is just getting monitor out of a cardboard box. If you want get an actual opinion, you'll have to go to channels like Hardware Unboxed, HDTVTest or RTings. This here is a different concept of a video where they don't even make any tests, they just kinda tell you the product is on the market now and you can get it if you want it. Some people like that, I guess, as they don't have time or willpower to watch 30min video made of detailed tests full of technical jargon.

@@chronicnugget5595 Well yeah, that's what I said in the second half of the message... what's bad about it though is that these days almost any other tech channel becoomes short&easy product introduction. Competently made reviews are few and far between, and that doesn't surprise me, I think it will be even much less of them in the future. First of all, you're in danger of making a manufacturer mad if you say how things really are, and second, you're making yourself unatractive to wide masses who just want to watch a video without technical jargon and too much thinking and objections. Interestingly enough, according to possibly the most prominent car jornalist of today Chris Harris, this approach has destroyed today's car industry, that's why almost all modern sports cars are really bad. Jornalists simply don't dare to say something is bad, and even if they do, youtube won't like it, beause they are getting too technical, and that's boring. This process is a vicious cycle and has produced worst sports cars since cars are being produced. There is a similar trend going on in the tech industry, and it's all thanks to the way youtube platform works.

But since you do mention specs maybe you could sort them out before hand to avoid the "not so sure"s, those are a bad look. Another easy way to clarify things for you and the viewer would be taking a look at the box that's right in front of you or pull up the spec sheet. Other hosts, Linus especially, do this all the time and it doesn't break the flow of things and is a nice touch imo. Or just don't mention things that you're not sure about at all. Dell does it ALL the time with the Ultrasharp monitors, and even LG themselves have done it before with the Ultrafine! It's not like it's an unproven stand layout. What I'd like to see in a dream monitor is HDR1000, 99% DCI-P3, 40" 4K@240Hz, DUAL USB-C PD (up to 100W each), a proper (that means 3 OR MORE ports) USB-A hub, integrated high-impedance jack, 3 HDMI 2.1 and 2 DP 1.4 ports, and a 15W wireless charger built into the base of the stand. Instead of taking up valuable desk space, it would actually be a useful (and neat) location for my phone while I'm working. I would gladly pay $2000 for such a monitor. It's never going to happen, because why would a company ever build the perfect monitor? Yay for capitalism.

I really don't like how Nicholas "reviews/previews" monitors. I think his priorities are wrong. You don't need 4k on this size. And turning down your game to medium just to play near 144 fps (with the best hardware atm) is just missing the point entirely. The prize discussion are also always weird. Comparing this 1000$ display to 500-600$ displays and calling it a "better viewing experience" should be obvious. It's literally double the price. But not mentioning the QDOLEDs for just 30% more is not really fair, is it? Also why does he talk about the toolless mount of the stand in every video? It's standard for good monitors. Sure, say if it's missing, but don't spend literally half a minute talking about that topic every time. And no ability to swivel is not "a good amount of movement".
