I think you should add a bit of slowness to the giant so it doesn't come zooming at you immediately and so that you have more opportunities to actually combo the mob making it possible to beat (no deaths) without cheesing it

I actaully know mostly how command blocks work but I still learnt some from watching this

Having watched a KZread video on the history of Giants in Minecraft, its interesting how closely this resembles why they were removed after a brief moment of proper implementation, and why they've not been properly implemented since

The reason he cane one shot you is because of the way that you made it deal damage. You only made it where whenever the player is within like 10 blocks they get instant damage, however you didn't add a delay to it (using a scoreboard) so every single tick that the player is close enough to hit the giant they get damaged.

The mob that was lost into obscurity is finally getting its spotlight once again!

Awesome video!! For future use, you can put "true" at the end of effect commands to hide the particles. You can also hide particles in the "active effects" attribute. That way you can have buffed up mobs without all the particles!

2:48 You could give the zombie a helmet and that would also work to stop the zombie from burning

Using the instant damage effect disregards a lot of armor. Unless you want that, you should consider another source of damage (summoning an invisible entity before killing it maybe?)

2:32 Tip: you can turn off effect particles, I dont remeber how to if you summon a zombie with the effect but for the /effect cmd all you gotta do is for example: /effect @s speed 100 (time) 2 (level) true/false (Hide Particles)

I would improve some things 1. Make it that when player dies, it deactivates showDeathMessage, sends the message and then turns it back on, so it is just off for like 3 ticks. 2. For the kill command. Now, it would kill ALL giant_brains. You could fix that by doing execute as giant_brain at giant_brain if there is no giant in a small radius

I love how you make all the ideas that Mojang won't add. Also I think that it would be super cool is the giant dropped something when it dies like...maybe an actual item named a giant brain

Perfect video as always. I think you should add a message in the chat when you kill him and a achievement. You should also make him drop more rotten flesh and chances to drop his netherite armor. You can also add a chance that it drops Enchanted Golden Apples or op loot. Or you can create a sword with some enchantments that are not in the game (like sharpness 6, Knockback 3, fire aspect 3 etc.). You can scale that to a command that places command blocks with the data of the commands, so everyone can spawn that thing with a command. Again, great video Mysticat!

When you need to hide particle effects from the /effect command, you still should be able to put true after the effect portion. Like with the /effect command alone, if you put your effect alone, for example "/effect give @s speed 60 5" you can add true to the end, "/effect give @s speed 60 5 true", and the particles will not show. Great vid!

For the enemy riding the Giant, you could've made the zombie that spawned in the giant spawn with a leather hat. it's that simple.

I love the that riding point for the giant is right in the center of it's head, like it's some sort of giant robot mech being controlled from the inside.

I think it would be nice to have a roaming overworld boss. Of course, having bosses just kinda spawn would be annoying so I think it should only spawn once per world, but dissappear at midnight and reappear somewhere else if not loaded/being fought Also, there should be a way to revive it like the ender dragon.

i love everything you've done, but i think you should make a spawn world for them (end, nether and stuff)

You should make a datapack with all your changes and, when you load a new world, you do a command to enable/disable features (/enable )

well datapacks are per world so you cant really enable a datapack without having it manually installed into your world save file. Maybe a simple mod or script to load the datapack into the world for you could work

I genuinely needed this, I am making a minecraft server and I had trouble adding AI to the Giant to make a Boss, this popped up for me in clutch right now xd

It would be a nice idea if you made a datapack which your viewers can download from a link in this video's description, which adds this behaviour to the giant.

I really love how you're able to create what looks like completely new content simply through the vanilla game. That's such an awesome concept. Can't wait to see more content like this!

You can actually make the husk invisible forever by changing the NBT-data to {Invisible:1b}. Then the Husk will not be half visible, or loose the effect after 999999 seconds.

as someone who uses potion effects/command blocks to make magic spells in mc, i saw "instant damage 2" and immediately burst out laughing. /effect makes it so the amplifier of 2 becomes III instead of II, 0 becomes I, etc (adds 1). Instant damage 1 deals 3 hearts to non-protection, 2 deals 6 and 3 deals 12. The giant deals 12 hearts of damage to everyone near it every 10 ticks (0.5 seconds) and it goes through armor (which doesn't have protection). Either way very cool :)

You should look in to turning off particle display after giving an effect to an entity. It’s just a single number change or adding an nbt tag.

3:24 if you add the tag {Invisible:1} it will be invisible so you technically could do the {ActiveEffects} tag but the same thing will happen if you add {Invisible:1} tag to it

This guy is reviving the legends of minecraft and making it a lot better without even changin hb smth in minecrafts zip file

you shouldn't use the instant damage effect for the giant's attack because it can one shot player regardless of their armor(without protection so unenchanted netherite is basically useless). I suggest summoning an invisible slime with custom attack damage on the player since the slime can attack the player instantly after being summoned

In Java protein 4 makes instant damage look like butter, I think 2shotting is only in bedrock

but in the video he used the instant damage with the amplifier of 2 (aka instant damage 3), which would one shot the player is they wear any UNENCHANTED armor, even full netherite but instead if the used a slime, it will deal a normal amount of damage which CAN be reduced by armor. just a suggestion for his future videos

1-Husk just rides the giant so actually you need to give giant to slowness 2-He uses instant damage effect remember it is not modded mob or something like that 3-It is already powerfull enough

Suggestions: Add Slowness I or II Have a chance to enchant his armor (or if on hard or hardcore do it) Give the damage it does Harming I (maybe?) Give it a custom drop Make it drop a zombie head?

I want to use it on my server, you can add drop for a giant and extra drop for a brain. You can wear dispenser to giant's head and replace zombie in his head to ghast with resistance 5 and invisibility to shot fireballs

If you want to expand on the project, maybe you can offset the husk to be behind the giant's head and kill the giant if the husk is dead as well

I made one by modifying the giant's pos, armoritems, handitems, rotation and motion values from the zombie at the leg, it's kinda weird when the giant keeps looking up when fighting a iron golem

This brings back memories. Giants used to be the ultimate prank back in the day. So much nostalgia...

he is so hard to beat, since you just applied a damage zone around him, he doesnt have to physically punch you, so going foward and backward does absolutely nothing for you

I think they never removed this mob for datapack/mod makers to have something with a huge hit box to play around with, but with the new 1.18 caves I would love for vanilla to have an actual giant mob with stomp attacks and a massive health bar. Maybe not really a boss mob but something like a piglin but rarely spawns if a cave is tall and big enough.

it originally had the same AI as regular zombies, then it got removed. later in a snapshot they gave it proper AI of its own but then removed it before it made it into an actual update

3:16 you just could make the husk stay and when it is killed it dies or despawns.

I love how the husk is where the giants brain should be and also acts like a brain for it, I thought if I could get a mob jokey on a giant it would move so I wanted to test it but it turns out giants and commands for jockeys are Java exclusive, I’m sad that I can’t do this now

Not sure if anyone said this, but one 1.14 snapshot actually added the Giant’s AI back, as well as a few other things, but was removed a few snapshots later for some reason.

You should make it if he die he drop called "The Legendary block of Undead mobs" It's a cobble that have fire aspect 3,sharpness 6,knockback 3,unbreakable,sweeping edge 7,and the most important part whenever you hold the item it will say COBBLESTONE=LIFE

that husk is probably having alot of fun controlling that giant zombie mech
