    Thanks for the review. Agree on all points. They have 2 sizes, the larger is supposed to be for people taller than 175cm. The difference seems to be in the size of the gas cylinder and that's it. I'm 187cm, sat in smaller one and ordered the taller, but found it usable only in the lowest sitting position. Mesh is also hit or miss in terms of sitting comfort. Sometimes I find the right position and it's good for extended periods, other times is get pressure on thighs from the sides. My previous chair was Ikea's jarvfjallet without armrests.

    Very interested in a good non biased review of the newer Hinomi release the X1. So few reviews on it and really curious if it is an improvement over the h1 pro or a step backward. The lumbar support being TPU instead of mesh is unusual and not sure if that’s more or less comfortable…

    I"ve had one of these for a couple of weeks...I ordered it in the Xmas sale, and for the price I paid I consider it decent value for money. The chair provides good support compared to my previous cheap old chair, but the lumbar mechanism can feel a bit too hard after an hour or so. My main reason for purchasing was being a musician I needed the flip up arms, and there doesn't seam to be too many options out there that provide this. Unlike you, I find the seat to be a bit too firm, not soft, and I don't find the frame noticeable at all. But I agree that for long periods its not that comfortable. My biggest gripe is that when I ordered there was no option to choose standard or extra tall... I think might just be sending out whatever they have in stock, which is a bit shady. Pretty sure mine is an extra tall as I'm 5'7" and can only just get my feet flat on the floor at its lowest setting. Its ok, but I would've preferred the option to go a tiny bit lower. At its full price I wouldn't have purchased it, but since I can't afford a Herman Miller or Steelcase (I don't want a used chair) it was probably a decent option for me here in the UK for me. I just hope it lasts!

    The "golden" rule is that part of an one hour, has to include getting out of the chair every hour. As someone who uses the chair for 12+ hours a day, you might want to seek out health advice, because the chair doesn't hurt my ass and I don't think it should be an issue sitting for two hours unless they have health problems. If you had someone spank you before sitting down, it's hardly the chairs fault it's not entirely comfortable.

    This is probably the most honest review for this chair on KZread. I've seen a few reviews from some UK KZreadrs from 3-4 years ago, and they generally had heavy praise for this chair, which felt utterly biased to me. They were also very defensive in the comments section, especially when multiple ppl pointed out issues with the chair itself. That's why I genuinely don't trust reviewers who are sponsored by the company (for which they are reviewing a product from) or if they use affiliate links without any transparency.

    What I can't get a handle on from you is whether you've actually sat in/tested the chair for yourself? You've commented on what other reviewers have said and how you felt about what they said, but what do you have to say based on personal experience? You said you wouldn't recommend this chair but again, is that based on personal experience? Because I don't see how you could recommend for or against it unless you're experienced it yourself. Reviews are great. But final determination should be based on one's own experience IMO.

    @mikeg6069 No, I haven't used this chair before, but that doesn't mean that I don't have experience with other chairs at the same price point. As per my original comment, I stated that this chair had been reviewed by other channels, who quite frankly don't know anything about ergonomics and were literally getting paid to make a biased review. Whenever I have recommended chairs to anyone on KZread, I always advise them to try it out first (if possible) because chair comfort is highly subjective.

    Has anyone made a chair that can pivot from the center and tilt from the front on the same chair? My home office is used for work and play so I need to sit up when working and I want to tilt back when watching TV. I bought an Ikea Markus as an interim solution until I find my forever chair and it does a decent job for work but is uncomfortable when reclining, especially because I slouch and have no plans to 'correct my posture'. A tilt pivot would push me back into the chair and I wouldn't feel the need to slouch forward while watching tv.

    Interesting - I was in the market for a chair with high adjustability and flippable armrests, got one on a local website (I'm based in Poland) for ~$370 and now I'm realising that this is exactly the same chair as Hinomi just branded with a different name! Apart from the lower price it also has a padded / cushion seat which, I guess, is more comfortable than a mesh seat in Hinomi. Quite happy with the purchase, especially considering the price but I agree about the armrests - wish they could be adjusted lower. Plus yeah, the leg rest prevents you from putting legs under the seat (technically you can do that, just need to spread legs wider) but the legrest itself is super comfy when you fully recline the chair and relax. Otherwise, everything is quite good - nice adjustability and quality of materials, solid build and comfort for everyday work.

    i brought this chair on the Christmas sale for 450.00 . the Hinomi H1 v2 unboxing experience is second to none. it is the apple of the chair world. ultra high quality! i am 270 pounds 5' 9" well proportioned! the headrest is the best in the business as well as the lumbar support. the chair well flex to allow movement but solid at the same time. the reason i returned it was the seat. i guess am too big because the seat frame hurt the back of my legs. i believe it is too curved! but in the recline position , with the leg rest it is so comfortable it will put you to sleep instantly! i miss it now! if they ever make a model with a cushion seat i will buy it again! i believe if you have a slim body this chair would be perfect for you!

    In all the clips where you're adjusting the arms, I think you can see that your hips and thighs are almost too wide for this chair. You're quite close to resting on the plastic frame rather than on the mesh. As a person of above-average height and weight, I found the H1 Pro v2 to be much more comfortable to an Aeron size C but still not tolerable for more than a few minutes. My old generic "Staples" chair had a larger mesh seat pan. For the last few years I've been using Hon Ignition chairs which are a bit more roomy than many others. I'm still looking for a true unicorn.

    Exactly. Chair comfort is highly subjective. To recommend or not recommend a chair you have experience with is problematic for that reason. To recommend or not recommend based on KZread video reviews is even worse. Does that mean video reviews are worthless? Not at all. Things like revelation of construction quality can be important. Things like actual range of motion, operational processes, dimensions, head rest positions, etc. are very important. But to translate that into actual comfort and rare largely based on comfort, well, that's where I have a problem. I think ratings and recommendations should be based on objective measurables with commentary on personal comfort for context. Just my opinion.

  • @StardustLegacyFighter

    @StardustLegacyFighter

    5 ай бұрын

    Yes, reviews should be as objective as possible, but it also depends on the experience of the reviewer and their credibility. For example, if you're looking for a safe ways to lose weight, would you trust the opinion of a fitness influencer or a dietician? I'd take BTOD's recommendations over those other channels (that I was referring to in my original comment), because those other guys are more likely to be biased and make uninformed comments, based on being paid to say nice things by the company supplying the chair. Nothing will ever beat trying out these chairs for yourself, but it helps to know that you're getting recommendations from ppl who know what they're talking about.

    I've bought this chair and had it returned after 3.5 weeks. 1. It is literally a rebranded OEM chair that can be found on some Chinese marketplaces for around $150, so all their claims about R&D and stuff are just BS. 2. All of the adjustments were of poor quality and either didn't stay in place (headrest and armrests in particular), or were too easy to adjust (or too hard to make it stay in a certain position you want). 3. It made my back hurt. One thing that I did like was actually the mesh, it was implemented perfectly - good firmness, the frame was wide enough that it didn't bother me (except for the lumbar support, where a piece of plastic could be felt poking into my back on the lowest adjustment setting). And I also liked some gimmicky features like the leg rest and folding mechanism.
