Next time you mow by your house keep the grass discharge facing away from your house at all times. You will have less of a chance of shooting a rock through one of your windows. You've done a great job cleaning up around the house, it's looking good.
It would be very pretty to move those daffodils that are coming up by the sand over against your rock wall

If you do replant them, Abbie, put 4 or 5 bulbs together (not fewer). They seem to thrive better in a group. They will multiply each year. In 5, or so, years they can then be spread around the garden and the edge of the wooded area. They will brighten the garden in the early Spring before the rest of the plants awaken.
The drone idea to know more about your land and what can be done in future planning is an excellent move

Exactly 💯
The stonewall you and ur mom made is awesome!!
You need a small riding lawn mower with a little trailer to connect to it to haul soil etc. Best thing we ever brought. Do not need a big one. Beats even self-propelled mowers.

A towable Gorilla cart with dumping and towing abilities, so much better than a wheelbarrow around a yard. i have one for three summers now and it helps with `so many tasks. Mine hold`s 600lb`s but some go up to 1,200 pound`s.

Getting a tractor with a loader and a bucket, as she said, is much more useful than a trailer.

@@jburch1544 you are so right i thought she `said it was going to be like a ride on lawn mower, my bad.
Miss Abby there is a tool called grandpa‘s weeder. You need to check into this tool. It is a genius tool for removing weeds.
Looks wonderful! Reminder for mulching: never pile it deep, never volcano mulch trees. Never should mulch touch bark or stems. That girdles and rots bark, and kills trees and shrubs. The root flare should always show.

Very true. I see many landscapers doing this..! Bad news for your trees.
Move those daffodils to the rocks at the edge of the hill going down to the creek.
Abby! Rescue those beautiful legs from the burn pile! You can make your window desk with those!
Beautiful transformation, Abby!!! 🥰🙏❤️🌻🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
It's like eating an elephant....one bite at a time! Keep up the momentum! Looking great.
There maybe beautiful bushes in your woods you can transfer by the front porch that are native to the area and free.
Let the big machines level it for you with a good slope for drainage away from the house!
A cute little bird house would be nice on your lilac tree and a bird bath
Be very careful mowing back there with the rocks. Thank goodness you didn't hit one and send it through your new patio doors. Everything is coming along so nice, Abby. 😊❤
A load of topsoil for the backyard will do wonders. A rake will help fill in any holes. You can throw down some grass seed when you're done. Love seeing all the improvements inside and outside.
I Love it 💗💗💗! What a boost to have the flower garden cleaned up and pretty! The rocky lawn will improve. Just be careful those rocks don't go flying into your sliding door! Might want a piece of plywood against it when mowing and weed eating there.
You can have the backyard graded when you do the patio. Then just reseed the grass I’d think.
Perfect idea is to rake the area first and use the mound of sand to fill in and level the back yard. Its great for grass as it will grow through the sand as long as you keep it watered while its growing through .😊😊😊😊
That mulch garden looks really beautiful
It looks better all the time! Maybe some Weed and Feed would help that area, just in the sparse spots? It might give it a boost? You’ve definitely got enough on your list to keep you busy! You’re doing it!🎉 I’m impressed every time you post. 😊
SUGGESTION: contact your county Extension Office for when to plant things in your gardens. This office is the most reliable source of info. Good luck.
Gorgeous mulched garden!!! 🤗🎶🌻🎶🏡🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I have been watching almost from the beginning, I remember the tour you gave in the back and also the inside of the house. The tile is how I got pulled in I am 80 . House coming along but enjoy watching your growth you have come along way
You’re certainly getting your steps in by mowing the lawn! 😊
Top dessert that back lawn area with that pile of sawdust.
Yard looking better all the time
A lot of bushes that I think would be great in your front for flowers and structure like knockout roses and hydrangea can be planted in containers this year and then planted in your beds after you do the siding. So that might be a good compromise. They can still grow and get bigger, than if you were first planting them, but you can move them out of the way while you do your porch, etc and later siding… ( and maybe scratch the itch to get started ) I also recommend looking up winter sowing on KZread. It’s such an easy way to get a bunch of plants because you’ll be needing a lot. It might be a terrific project for you this winter and make a good video or two.

You might wait until everything is marked down in August and September. Also store anything in pots somewhere they will be protected from harsh weather.
Great job, Abby. The yard and garden look marvelous!👍🏼👍🏼
Look great. Oh when those trees leaf out. Beautiful Beautiful. I love it. You have worked so hard. It’s all coming together now. Wonderful spot & that porch will be beautiful .
Fill the depressions in the 'lawn?' and sow some grass seeds. Keep mowing the areas and the grass will grow and spread to the denuded areas. Grass is remarkable, it is one of the few plants that will thrive if it is cut continuously, but not cut too short.
Abby, this is a gardening tip! When you have an established garden & you have a weed with a root system you can't get out, carry a can of WD40 & snap off the leaves & use the wand to spray down the hole at the weed roots. This will kill the weed!!! I have done this for years👍👍
It looks fabulous Abby, you are doing a fantastic job of rescuing that beautiful old house. I can't wait to see how everything looks in midsummer! ❤❤❤❤❤
And your garden is looking so fresh and alive. The smallest addition make all the difference!
But that bed looks great 🌱🌱🌱 Gardening is joyful 🌸
Abby, at least you didn’t break any windows mowing. Mowers love to spit stones at glass. It looks real nice. 👍👍
Love the rock wall. The flower bed looks so much better! Can’t believe you push mowed…lol…those days are over for this old lady. Didn’t ever notice there was a house next to you. Does anyone live there? Just curious. I really like that you have that empty land across the street to gaze over. You are doing a lovely job GF! Kudos to ya! 👍🙋🏻♀️✌️
Smaller plants establish very well faster than the bigger ones.
The next time you want to work outside for a quick project you may want to rake around your mulched garden. The rake will be helpful in getting up the small sticks and dead grasses. It would be even nicer than. It’s coming along nicely.
You are doing good work, the yard is looking super good, cant wait to see more progress.😮
Tell ya what- I'm jealous of that raised stone wall! Excellent job!! I have years when I was younger of doing them around my place. Really looks great, you did a fine job!
The garden is beautiful, I love your ideas 😊
Love the results of your garden and yard work Abby. Everything is looking so good! Tonight I was watching Homestead Horsemanship as a baby was being born. She was named Chantilly Lace and of course I thought of you and your paint color. Couldn’t resist passing it on. 😊
Abby, the garden looks very nice 💐💐💐💐
I like your sweet flower garden with the stone sitting area nearby it. Home ownership entails endless chores that have to be repeated over and over…weeding, raking, mowing, cleaning, etc. When the summer heats up, you will be very thankful for a tractor/mower.
I remember when I was 6 or 7 I went across creek where big lilac trees growing. I climbed up and took home for my Mother. She was very happy.
Here are some thoughts: Clear a wide walking path down to the stream. Build a simple stone and wood plank bench to sit on at the end of the day. Work on creating beds in front of the porch by gathering up the rocks and tilling the soil. I would plant bushes this summer. I have followed your channel since your first day and still can’t wait for the next video.

Totally agree. Been there.
so....Abby go get Ken and Bill or Baron and your dads cultivator and smooth out your back yard . In a short time you will have a lawn. Maybe throw some loose hay on it and you will have grass seed included.
Flower bed looks great!
Your yard looks much nicer but you knew it would. Hope you have many happy years in your yard.
Garden bed looks lovely what a difference a tidy area can bring to your senses. I would leave the planting of the gardens for a little longer, why add to your work of having to weed and well as the heavy work to do inside and out. Set your areas for the beds de grass the area pave around and lay down cardboard inside the cleared bed to keep the weeds and grass from growing until you are ready to choose your plants. Amazing the amount of work you have learnt to do well done Abby
I love that all of those beautiful stones came from your land. I can’t imagine living somewhere that you have that. It all looks really really good! Keep up the good work. It’ll all come together.
Abby your lilac garden and rock wall are perfect!
Your little garden is lovely , sure wish you were here to mow our lawn for us !! You go girl !
Sooooo glad to see your beautiful home get the glorious setting it deserves. Happy gardening
IT is a little better if you put the mulch in garden cart , a couple bags at a time will save you time.
You might want to transplant those daffodils in front of your stone wall. That would look lovely!
Your mulch garden looks great mulch really makes it look beautiful makes the colors look vivid!
Abby I've always believed a clean or tidy mess is better than a mess. A easy fix for cheap temporary fix; with a paint sprayer paint those out buildings until your ready to deal with them. I would pick a Forestry type color to make them blend in with the outdoors. This could be done in an hour or two and you would have a better curb appeal and visual change as you look out from inside. As for the back grass area I would top dress it after you put the fire ring in. By adding some top soil lightly it will fill in the voids the some seed and straw. Amazing change until you are ready for patio and in the meantime the grass will get opportunity to become strong and thick for surrounding the patio later. You're doing a great job keep up the good work and being out doors will be a blessing after long hours of inside work. Love your channel and your family.
Hi Abby, just another suggestion with the Possibles of Videos. It will take a little setting up and doing! have your Dad plow the Grass and Weeds under with a Team and Level it, to demonstrate that it can be done. Then at a Futcher date you can pick the Rocks and Look at planting Grass! Might be fun! Dong this with a Team might make it possible get close to the House without tearing things down, a Tractor might be faster and mor problematic
The beautiful metal sheds you have there really add to the beautiful look around the lot. The beautiful building to the right belongs to your neighbors I would assume.
Everything looks so nice all mowed and the flower bed mulched. You are quite a worker. I watch you every day.
I am a fan of hydrangeas for your porch garden.
Sandy loam top soil. Sprinkle around into holes and then spread evenly with a rake.
Throw some grass seed on the bald patches now. Fill in some of the ruts in the back yard and seed them too. It won't take long and you will be glad you did it now and gave it a chance to grow before it gets really hot.
To smooth that lawn: after a good rain use the roller your dad rolls snow trails.
I think you should build a border with you rocks along the front of the house, approximately two or three stones high and then fill in with mulch. Even if you don’t plant it will look neater.
Abby the daffodils behind the house would look nice under the tree where you are putting the mulch.
its coming along so nice Abby. Sounds like a lot is happening at your place, so happy for you.
HI Abby. What would help the back yard is too have it disked. A disker is pulled behind a tractor and it tosses up the top 5 inches of soil. I have seen the Amish pull it behind a team if mules in Pennsylvania. Have you seen it where you are? A cultivator tills deeper and a disker is just the top of the ground When the tractor makes multiple passes with the disker it levels out the ground , this helps so you don't have to fill in holes. Once done when you know it is going to rain you just need to spread grass seed, which you could so by hand in that small area . Then wah- la you have a grass yawn!
You can put cardboard or several layers of newspaper paper over the soil then add mulch over it will help with the weeds.
For a temporary front of porch garden, plant in pots that can be moved as needed.
Good morning Abby from our ⛵⛵ Lakes Region New Hampshire farm. Great job mulching your garden. Do pull the mulch back from the Lilac roots. A small used tractor with a grass mower underneath and a bucket would go far for your projects. Would save on lifting stuff and could pull a dump cart. You're and "old hand" at that '-) . After watching all your hard work from the beginning, it must feel so good to finally see a tentative moving in date. Not sure what the average house goes for in up state New York, but New Hampshire is around 500K, which is riduculous! We built our modular in 2016 at a reasonable cost, like you, doing a lot of the finish work around the house and yard. You are fortunate to have made a 'You Tube' record of the journey. I look forward to following your adventure.
Keep a hand shovel with you to help get the roots. And a pail/bucket for the weeds
Don’t forget if you have a tin roof. If snow falls off in winter it will crush your shrubs
Maybe Dad can help grade the back yard with the excavator? Just make sure it slopes away from the house.
A yard roller is a great way to even out a bumpy yard.
I like to outline my beds first. But down cardboard to help weed control then bark on top.😀
nice seat /wall you could grow bushes in big pots now then replant them when you are ready
I sent a contribution to pwe earlier this week. Hello from the rocky mid-coast of Maine, US. Saturday, May 11th, 2024
I have been here since the beginning. I can see you have made a lot of progress. You can grate the yard to even it out. Then bring it the top soil. That will be a lot easier than trying to rake it by hand.
My first thought is DADS FARM EQUIPMENT Maybe something appropriate
Hi Abby, Golf Corts use Sand to Fill holes and Level the Ground
I love the stone wall more of them would add to the look
Just an FYI, this happened to my friend. They were mowing the lawn and didn’t see a rock or a stick that had been put there and it flew out of the shoot from the lawnmower and it hit the sliding glass door and broke it.
Where you have the gap between the porch and the house make a small stone wall cover inside with plastic against house and fill and plant would look really cool, it’s only a little space so won’t need a huge amount of stone
Hey Abby, yep, gardens need ongoing work. Mulch helps but nothing stops the weeds.😅 buy your shrubs and rhododendrons and plant them in pots that way you can move them out of the way. Doesn't have to be store bought pots, I see scrap ply on the burn pile and probably some 4x2 lumber, make 4 sides and 4 corners. Doesn't have to be pretty just serve a purpose. Use screws to put them together then come planting time you can unscrew to access the plants. I love gardens but they do need attention and at the moment you don't have alot of spare time. Your doing great by the way, love the house and the progress your making. Cheers from New Zealand. 🎉
It looks so pretty Abby!! I love the flower garden too. You could also sow some flower seeds in different areas to add color here and there around the yard...even in front of the porch to add color to the house!
That garden is just beautiful. Looking better every day. I wish you lived closer to me, i have several plants to divide, but no one to share with. I am in Central Pennsylvania. Really not far but, far enough. Great job. I have followed you since the beginning and you should be proud of your achievements. Looking forward to next video.
It really is looking so good, Abby. Have a beautiful, blessed night. 🙏
Love the rock wall!
You are fastest mower I have ever seen 😂
Oh Abby girl…this property both inside and out has come a long long way so don’t be too hard on yourself. Everything worth having takes time and patience…a lot of both, you need to look at things from what was. I was having a tough day last week with all my husbands health issues and I went back and watched the Working Horses videos with you and Trudy riding Bill and Lady. I just chuckled myself into a better place just watching Bill want to take off in a mad dash and you trying hard to hold him back. I love when your dad lets Bill let his mane down and run…good viewing but he doesn’t share that often. Brings me joy to see you enjoy gardening. Being a master gardener I want everyone to enjoy the beauty of gardening but especially our younger generation. One day maybe William will be building you a small greenhouse!!!:):):)
The dark mulch is such a nice contrast! With the stones, the green & the dark background--it's so pretty!! Every little thing!! 🎉 You have quite a large yard to mow!! 😮 Looks great!!! 💕
have dadscrap that bad lawn with his bulldozer,,or burn it off,, the rest of the lawn looks great mowed. the mulch is a great decision..looks super with that lovely sitting wall. ❤😊😊😊

Yes! Gardening is therapeutic
Abby, the property is looking really nice!!!❤
Everything is looking so good Abby! Keep up the good work.
Keep an eye out for a good used compact tractor. John Deere, Kubota with front loader and mid mount mower. With maintenance those things last forever and with a place the size of yours it would be very handy. KC
