    The worst map is Dynasty's Pearl, especially for lights. But really, all city maps sucks due to their smaller area. On Castilla, I never go heavy side even if I'm driving a heavy tank. The windmill area is a death trap.

    True, so frustrated and annoyed of being spotted so easily. Sometimes, by the time the light goes off, I lose ton of health or meet the death.

    You can go windmill on Castilla, but you need medium support on castle

    One thing to mention is, its significantly harder to to go Castilla with more lightly armored heavies that utilise their high dpm or alpha, fv215b, wz-113, BZ-75 etc etc. with heavily armored superheavies or heavies at least you can get bounces on some track shots, spaced armour or upper plates. those tanks are just a damage farm for TDs and tank destroyers. Though maybe this could have a solution by playing more carefully in those tanks but i feel that thats one important point to mention.

    Some of my personnal thoughts about maps on wot blitz: Castilla: Campstilla, where every tanks can camp on the hill. Dead Rails: Gun depression domination. Hellas: Turret armor flexible Mines: "No hill no victory!" - Most players Vine Yard: Dead Rail but with 2 cities side Black Goldville: B and C priority Rockfield: 183 on top of da hill Canal: A point got all attentions Desert Sands: Size scrapping HT flex armor Oasis Palm: Capture MT side and camp Winter Malinovka: Gun down HT Port Bay: I like top spawn Middleburg: "No hill no victory!" Part 2 Himmelsdorf: Turret armor flex part 2 Fort Despair: I mean, nobody push too much in this map Falls Creek: Rarely I saw my teamates push Ghost Factory: "No factory no victory!" Faust: If 1 side lost, the whole battle doomed, especially MT Mayan Ruins: I mean no one rlly care about the hill this time? Alpenstaldt: Hull down go brrr Molendijk: Gun down base position I guess Canyon: Nobody likes go through that canyon Copperfield: Whats the middle for? Yamato Habor: Nobody fight in middle for some reason, I guess

    Port Bay is terrible and unbalanced. If your mediums don't take the corner you get ruined by cross fires. The town is absolutely untenable.

    Not to mention that mediums on the main hill can easily spot tank destroyers camping on the ridge on green side, but not on the other side because its further away

    Problem is even if your mediums suck, why would you let the mediums have a clear shots to the entire heavy side?, yeah if your mediums are dead, the enemy mediums should have to drive to your side so your team has enough time to clear the heavies, the mediums shouldn't be able to just kiill your mediums and proceed to snipe 5 seconds after. If they place some walls or more spots to poke that aren't exposed to the TDs and the medium, at least heavy side in castilla will become somewhat bearable

    I despise Mines and Vineyards for the same reason - uneven spawn advantage. Castilla is great, if you get the good side, for both td farming, and med farming, if they fail to send a tank to the church.

    @@roastedsand5917Mines, the side with the island to the left is faster for meds or lights to take the top, and unfortunately that dictates too much of the battle outcomes.

    Completely agreed. The only advantages the worse spawn has is easier and quicker access to mid if you climb over the hill, and the ability to use that secondary hill past the river near there spawn where mediums and fast moving heavies can use. The better spawn also has way better access to base A on supremacy, as if you spawn on the worse spawn, it takes longer to travel to base A than the other spawn. This map sucks.

    MT/LT can take that TD spot to cross the river quickly and get into town, good for early spotting the HT but you gona be trap when enemy MT/LT arive

    Castilla should be for tier IX - X players. Most people cant even handle Mines correctly. What I hate mostly about it is, I have more draws on it than all other maps combined.

    Mines is also quite bad, but not as bad as Castilla. On Mines though, the spawn that is next to the cap circle has much better cover for TDs. Meanwhile on the other side, the available cover for TDs is much less.

    True. The entire 7-8-9 sectors are td spots for one spawn while the other spawn only has that one td spot that is subject to countless blind shots because when you spawn at that side ,as a passive td, there is nowhere else you can go.

    The opposing spawn(South) has 4 TD fire positions that is 4 times more. + the island bush is great for light tanks to spot people crossing in and out of island, fast TDs to counter island, punish hill rushers, create crossfire.. spot while not being getting spotted etc So no south spawn is superior by far.

    Personally I think Falls Creek is the worst. As a td or heavy you get bad positions. Only meds can do good on that map

    Port Bay is the worst because it's so dependent on the medium flank. One decent medium or unluckily hit when crossing the river, battle over. While Castilla is bad, there's plenty of ways to break open the map. Heavies can snipe at the castle from the windmill, and most TD positions have no solid cover so it's heavy damage once spotted.

    Tbh, Castilla back in the days was one of my favorit maps. The map's biggest problem isn't even the map itself, but rather the level of the players. Recently the quality of players on the NA server has dropped drastically, I have never seen so many bad players in such quantity. We are seeing the worst era of WoT blitz in terms of players.

    Biggest issue is meds not contesting the castle hill , leaves the heaviest open to crossfire

    I hate dessert maps. There are too many uneven covers for us td players to support our team that engage at them and if we reposition to cover those spots, we are easily spotted which paints a big target on our heads

    True, this map blows. On deadrail you can kinda push if you know where the TDs are, on Campstilla if the heavies hug the rock on hill and you don't have a gun depression med, you are screwed on green side. While I don't like Yamato because of med side being STB-1 fiesta, at least you can rotate somwhere on that map. On campstilla you basically coinflip to see who gets the best meds.

    More or less correct. South side does have a few advantages though... 1. Fast heavies can cross river then spot enemy TDs and counter hill while controlling B. 2. South spawn heavy hill is slightly better for supporting meds @ castle. (North side is not equal - you can get TD'ed.) South spawn has decent TD position on the south side of island near B... you can kind of support B, Castle and hill. Few north side advantages not mentioned. 1. North spawn lights can now(after pbr remake) cross river, climb up island and spot enemy heavies crossing into hill, river, camping near river and you can even blind shot enemy TDs because the gap between houses is exactly where enemy(south) TDs camp. (Works as a counter play for south spawn heavy crossing river.) 2. The small hill next to the big one near heavy hill is climbable and in a light tank you can spot literally everything from there . (Castle, Island, TD spots, heavies, river.) Very useful in tough very high ranked late games.) Overall late game spotting advantages are insane on the north side. All hills are climbable and you even have bushes and trees for better camo. :D

Btw could we talk about naval frontier and how frustrating it is to cross the road with your heavy....

    The only possible advantages of being on the 'green' side of castilla is when you drive over the td hill, across the river and on the edge of the city, that way you can shoot into the sides of heavy flank at a greater angle compared to the better spawn. Also its easier to pressure mediums in your heavy on the 'green' spawn because you can push right up to their side of where they sit on the hill, where you can go hull down against tds on the big hill whilst spotting tds in the corner. ONLY under the condition your mediums do their job. compared to the better spawn you'll have to drive all the way around the hill and leave your side for tds to poke at. although if you are on the better spawn you can just drive where the mediums go... the differences comes to when there is too many tanks there and you dont have enough space, heavies pushing side of medium flank theb becomes useful.

    Forgot to mention, that the green heavy side on the hill is a bulge, while the other side is like a bowl, and red side also has better shots off on the green side in heavies if mediums choose to, but green mediums barely have any shots off

    This season is honest to God the worst season map wise I think possible. Half the maps are either camp hell or direct confrontation where there's very little room for counterplay

    Yes, this is the map I hate the most in this game. First is the HT wing, the hill is very steep and open to the point that lowering the gun at 8 or 10 degrees is very difficult. Second is about DT, it's very difficult for blood-soaked DTs to play on this map, there are few bushes, the map is small and there are some places where there are bushes that seem like they don't exist. Third is about MT and LT, the castle wing can be said to be very important but the map is very small so it will most likely be sent back to the garage by DT and this wing needs support from teammates which rarely happens in the game. this game. So that's my opinion about this map😅

    I mean Hellas is a bad map too. If you end up spawning for example 3 mediums and 4 heavies, the heavies will go to the side of olympis and the meds will go to the other side. If your meds lose the battle the remaining meds will snipe you across the map in the 100 bushes there. Its just to go all on the other side but then youll get flanked or lose by points

    Disagree. If sides are like a mirror at all maps there's no diversity and less fun. Castilla doesn't mean to be played equal at both sides and is the always needed refreshing wind. If you spawn "close to castle" you play all pushing med side with two heavy armored, slowing red advance. Key point is the little hole in the hill where lights or little meds can play hull down if pushed and snipe to heavy side.

    Hey doodles you want toknow why dead rails worse? If your a heavy on the right side you literally cannot push without getting screwed because there's no position that enables you to get hull down plus the others side can get the faster and has a better hull down and more rock cover right next to the hull down witch enables you to get pushed but keep a stand theres nothing on right side like that if you get pushes and got spawn right your screwed

    Nah, this map is great. One of my favourites in fact. It’s such a huge map with a tonne of places to maneuver, snipe, ambush, push from. Sure, you can say ‘OMG you can see ALL of this area from THIS spot’, like a child, but no map is perfect and no map has anybody covering ‘all the spots’. “How is this fair!?” Really? I respect your tank reviews but with this review you sound like you should get out more. Less whining please.

    Almost every map is horribly unbalanced. If u ask me Vineyards is the worst. Your team just has to yolo the med side from one of the spawns and you will win 90% of the time

    if im a tank destroyer in the bad side of the map I drive up to the castle using the shortcut to get up and pray no enemy TD's are camping at the back just the meds pushing and then I farm the enemy HT's side

    TBH, I think the problem here is that you arent a TD player. I feel personally, that you are more of a medium and heavy player. This would explain why you dislike these maps so much. I started the game loving TDs and ngl there were a LOT more places for a TD to hide. It was a good balance at the time. However, since the. WeeGee has slowly removed so many places that a long range TD can be effective. So I dont mind those maps because it teaches patience and challenges others game play while also allowing old school TD guys to enjoy the game as well.

    i like castilla, if you win med side (with the spawn that droodles got) in like an stb, you can either snipe the enemy heavies, or go hulldown on the small hill in “green” spawn. heavy side js fkn sucks tho. u just get farmed by mediums and tds.

    Every map is great it’s the teams that never listen or help that make the whole game suffer when u know the reds have 4 heavy’s and 3 tds and you’re team just camps light side while you have to beg them to grow spines and fight on the heavy’s side but they don’t move just insult one another it’s no use no matter how you talk or what knowledge or experience you have the team is to stubborn or stupid to even hear you out it’s a waste of time

    How do you move so fast in the replay, what control keys are used ? When I try to analyse my replays the movement is soooo slow when using keyboard keys #noob

    Pc only : use 1-9 to adjusting speed when you move around in the replay . Q=moves up . E = moves down.

    Castilla sucks bcs of the heavy flank. You can't go hill in you're heavy bcs most of the time team doesn't support and enemies will shot u from afar. I think they shouldn't allow med to shoot the other flank, cover it instead and, make the hill bigger for heavies.

    Also, the base A cap is much more closer in red spawn compared to other, and that's another disadvantage hahahhaha

    oh my god.... i never thought i see the day when multiple people will sh it on how bad castilla is, for anyone who disagrees with the opinion that this is the worst map in the game by a huge margin at that, well i can only say that you didnt play heavy flank enought. when i personaly see this map i feel like falling 6 ft underground everytime i decide to play a heavy, and god help you if the heavy tank you play is the maus or E100 you can basically just drive to the middle to speed up the process of getting clapped on by the medium side and TD's.
