I had a pair of black air force ones that I used as work shoes and later toured in my old punk band with, I probably wore those shoes for 2 years straight, about a year ago I gave them to a local homeless guy cause we had the same shoe size, he still is wearing that pair of shoes every time I see him

As a food worker, we look for shoes that you can’t tell are dirty. Black on black shoes work best for hiding dirtiness. That’s how I think AF1’s got such a bad rep: anybody who was homeless or nasty wanted to hide the grime with black shoes. As bill burr said, “if his sneakers are F’d-up then his life is F’d-up.” People who have given up on their lives also west black shoes because they don’t want to clean them or have people notice that they’re filthy.

its a really good and well priced shoe that looks good at every level of beat-upness, creaseness and cleanliness. it being a very black shoe hides its true condition at an initial glance. it could have the blood of a hundred dudes in them and it would never show on Black airforce ones. It just so happens to be a very comfortable and well fit running shoe in a pinch. You could do all the parkour and running and juking you could ever want in these. When you combine a good running shoe with a color that makes aesthetic repair a non issue (guy in the rap video just sprays the shoe), you end up with a good utilitarian shoe. if its a good utilitarian shoe, you can bet there will be someone somewhere doing crime wearing it. Think the Muramasa and ppls thoughts on those back then or the AR 15 today. Thats what a black airforce one is in the same way.
