I make my own antennas all the time. And this guy makes what is sooo simple wayyy more complicated than it need be. Literally take some coax, cut it, strip back 6 inches to bare copper. Plug in other end. Thats it. I typically get 45 channels in my area. Batteries will likely only create more interference.

How long of a coax cable to where you strip it?
Correct me if I'm wrong but something seems amiss here. CNN is a cable TV channel, it is not broadcast over the air so how is that channel playing on the TV with only an OTA antenna?

When we went digital the law also says that all channels also have to be broadcast.

@@garrettmenteer2066CNN is a cable TV channel, it is not broadcast OTA (over the air). You must subscribe to a cable or streaming service to get CNN.

Hello, you can make a spring antenna in a compact and convenient way, it also works very well, I tried it.
4:04 when he takes off his hand u can clearly see the cable release like it wasn't connected to the tv... obviously he doesn't let us see what's connected behind the tv. Terrible soldering skills too

As an aside, don't attempt to use an antenna on a Vizio TV to get OTA broadcasts. Vizio TVs do not have tuners like other brands do.

Almost all types of antennas that are advertised in videos like this have limited functionality. It takes 150 euros of tools to produce a special digital and satellite antenna...😊

Sorry, but the trick shown in the video is actually quite effective and doesn't require expensive tools 📡.
This will not work! He replaced legitimate antenna elements with batteries. they are neither the right length or shape and since their far ends are not connected to any thing, the power stored in them means nothing. It might work for a UHF signal from as far away as 20 miles, but will not work on VHF.
