The singer of this song is the beautiful ,adorable Corrine Drury. "Breakout" is such a banger, a great song to put you in a good mood. My 7 year old granddaughter loves this song as well.

When I interned at a radio station in college in the mid 80s, I met Swing Out Sister. They were very cool. Corinne has a great voice and she's really tall! LOL.

Reminds me of when our eldest daughter was 3 she would sing it loud in her itty bitt voice in the back seat of our Audi...so many beautiful memories!, Swing out Sister was a great group also check their other hits “Forever Blue” “Am I the Same girl”. Yes, it was a very nice cover of Dusty Springfield covering Barbara Acklin's original recording of Eugene Record's song (Record was the lead singer of The Chi-Lites, who did "Have You Seen Her?")

Perfect pronunciation of Corinne’s name, Amber! Swing Out Sister brought a very classy 60’s vibe to 80’s pop with a love of Dusty Springfield and Burt Bacharach songs evident. The video is so much fun, something that wasn’t a priority in late 80’s British pop! They’re still going today too and are still as good
