According to my bad math, I think you received TEN red lipsticks That's crazy. But I'd rather receive 10 lipsticks before getting coupons, scrunchies, stickers, or a key chain.

How cute would it be if Alexandria took some of the products she wanted to share and put together her own advent calendar for her mom?

I actually did this with body shop for my daughter. I bought two calendars. Took out what I would use and then added everything left over plus other bits and pieces and created her own, she loves it!!

7+ red shades is over kill they were definitely trying to get rid of product that never sold

Im actually suprised that a expensive brand actually gave the most bang for your buck... like so many full sizes! Even the "mini" would be considered deluxe samples. Other beauty brands really need to take note... cause so far so many are a rip off and you'd be lucky for 1 full size anything! Even those perfumes, for a set of 4 is around $100 online!

I think this Advent calendar is one that would be best for going in with a few friends and then divying (sp?) the goods. I mean if there's 4 of you, you put in $75 dollars and everyone gets 6 things. That's not bad.

You just missed a second v: divvying 😊 And I agree. There is probably more real-world value there if you go in together because each of you can choose things you're actually going to use and enjoy. It's probably true of most of the calendars. Well, the ones that aren't all free sample sizes and tiny squeezy tubes anyway. I don't think there's any way of getting any value out of those, no matter how you divvy them up.

@@SayHelloToOblivion Honestly, I would have everyone draw a number, then go in order picking items, taking turns until everyone has 6. That's the most fair, and everyone would likely get at least one thing they really want. This also really only works if you really like YSL and would enjoy pretty much all of the items, even if you're not obsessed with every single one.

Red Is a universally flattering color for all skin shades so it makes sense for it to be the main shade in the calender. They could have added at least one nudish one though.

I fed you but some of them looked exactly the same. Like at least mix it up. Some people don’t do bold. Some prefer pinks and browns. I think mixing it up like that is better cuz even if you end up giving away most shades at least there was variety.

Well, you could always buy the YSL 2022 advent calendar! I feel really confident that you are guaranteed numerous red lipsticks in next Christmas’s advent calendar! Think of all the wonderful Christmas presents you can gift out of this one calendar! That is, if you feel that the ladies in your life would enjoy the products from this calendar! Oh, one other thing, I was actually looking at advent calendars just about a week or so ago, and any company who still has 2021 advent calendars, they are selling them heavily discounted in order to just get rid of them. So you could just see if YSL has any of these calendars left for sale. Makeup is fine to be left for a year, so long as you don’t open it. Once you open and use any makeup and/or skincare products, you are supposed to only use it for the number of months it says with the little picture of an open tub, usually on the back or base of the product, but I’m sure you already know that. 🙏🏼😉

Just FYI, the coral one with the star in the middle is a lip balm. So it hardly has any color to it. And yes, you can pop off the gold rings in the middle of the lippie and use it as a ring.

Honestly even the minis are mostly not that small, around 12 bux per item considering there is full sizes, and not ANY bs items like stickers, this one is good for a luxury brand

when this series first started, i used it as a drinking game by taking a shot every time you got a red lipstick/lip tint and/or a sample. i gotta stop i’m gonna get alcohol poisoning 🤣

I'm low-key a red lipstick person. I have a warm red, cool red, neutral red, deep garnet, watermelon red/pink and burgundy, and the one I choose depends on the outfit. It's amazing the difference in red tones and how some reds do not go with an outfit, but a different red totally does. Though I do agree, this is a bit ridiculous in an Advent calendar. The amount of lip products was excessive, and all red, that isn't something everyone is going to want.

How do you keep them from smearing everywhere? I've stopped using lipsticks all together for this reason. I've got a wide assortment. Some even say budge proof, apparently they've never met me. 🤣 I've lined my lips and yet still look like Ronald McDonald in an hour.

@@blackwidow8412 I mainly use the Bareminerals liquid matte lipsticks, which don't budge, as well as their BarePro lipstick line. I pat off the excess, and those formulas work for me. I'm really pale, too, so smudging and bleeding into lip lines is something I definitely worry about. I've had other formulas bleed into my lip lines.

You should get Wren an advent calendar next year, but just open one or two things per each of your advent calendar videos for him. My dogs get so excited each night for theirs. We have the Aldi wine & cheese calendars, so as soon as I grab those, they run over to their advent calendars. It’s adorable and totally worth the $25.

Your puppy dog brings so much joy to my soul I forget how bad the calendars are going to be.

"Mauve", or mallow in English, is a plant with soothing properties! Growing up in rural Italy, my grandma would tell me to chew on "malva" leaves for toothaches :) the colour is named after the flower in most romance languages.

It would be so fun if you posted a linktree or something next year to all of the advent calendars you’re getting (or at least the ones you’re sure about) so we could buy the interesting ones and open them with you ☺️ it’s definitely cheaper to live vicariously through you without buying them though lol

Ok, so this calendar is very expensive and definitely lacking in variety but it’s not the worst I’ve seen. If you’re a red lipstick fan JACKPOT! 😂 At least you’re getting actual products that have value in this calendar. In comparison to the dumpster fire that is the Chanel advent calendar, this one is great. I heard that the Tuxedo cologne is suppose to smell really good.

When I had covid I just said I felt "a little congested" and it stayed that way the whole time I had it... lol other than losing my smell which left very slowly so slowly I barely noticed.... so careful! Lol but congestion was my only symptom before the taste and smell and those were my only 3 symptoms all together

Harrod's has a Mont Blanc advent calendar that's over $4,000. I nearly choked! This YSL calendar seems much better than some you've opened, which I won't name.

The shoes with the red bottom are Louboutins. Louis Vuitton is the one with the handbags. And YSL is the one with the boring advent calendars 😂

I enjoyed this advent calendar more than a lot of the others you’ve opened. No being taken advantage of with samples and many minis. Even though I personally don’t wear red lipstick I didn’t mind you opening them. It was a theme.

I kind of like that they have every shade of red in both sample and full sizes. Not every orange-based red will match every skintone. Not every blue-based red will match every skintone. And I'm pretty sure they're very much the "find your perfect comfort red color" that you're always going to grab in a pinch for something nice. For finding your perfect red shade, this box is pretty nice. But I am also very much into reds, so my bias is projecting for sure lol. xD

Girl, I love red lipsticks but there were too many of them. But, they make for an amazing Xmas gift. You can gift friends and family and I bet they would flip out!

In my opinion, they put in a lot of lip items because they are selling less due to masks. I would be so disappointed to have a ton of items that no one could see or I would barely use. Not my type.

Yves Saint Laurent used to be rich old lady brand, it may go by YSL or Saint Laurent now but damn, if this doesn't bring me back the smell of my great aunts 🌹 musky perfume,ever present red lips and her enormous embroidered YSL bag, idk what could. They clearly know their core audience 😆

I myself wear a lot of red lipstick. Not every single day but most of the week. It’s fun. But I tend to go for matte liquid lipsticks because I hate to reapply all day. This advent calendar I’d love with all the red lipsticks and I would wear them all.

I have LOVED this year's series of calendars! Harrods has been my favourite good one so far and QVC my most aggravating bad one lol. I wish brands would send you them in PR a few months in advance to make filming etc easier. I also wish they would stand up, look around and compare what they're about to sell to competitors, because quite frankly some of them should be embarrassed, just saying. the "mashed banana" mascara wand is a curling wand. I like using these instead of an eye lash curler. The long bristles create volume and when you use the other side (make it look like a smile) it will curl your lashes. Love your videos!

I got the Macy's YSL bag last month and flipped out. It was my first Macy's after a 2 year wait list and it was "fancy", heck it even smelled "fancy". My Son heard "fancy" so much he put his headphones on. But it truly was "fancy".

Yep, that's a great mascara. You need to keep switching sides: coat with the long bristle side, push Up with the curved side (if the curved side has long bristles too then it would leave black dots on your loss as you push your lashes up). I love bougie mascara samples, I don't wear mascara often enough to be worth buying full tubes so I get bougie mascaras with points and promo codes instead and I absolutely can't complain ☺️☺️☺️

These videos make a rough day sooo much better. This is hell week for us that groom pets, so it is soooo very appreciated when we are able to get a smile

The YSL Black Opium is also my signature scent!!!! I love it, and I’ve gotten so many compliments whenever I wear it. Also, loving these Advent Calendar unboxings!!!!

The only thing I use every day fromYSL is the Shock mascara as it’s bullet proof waterproof which I need ❤️ Love their lippies as well tho

mine are YSL Paris (eau de parfum ONLY tho), Dior Dolce Vita, Mugler Angel and Chopard Casmir (yeah i like turn heads heavy hitters lol)

I like when after reviewing a calendar you show us how much was included. I understand we’re looking at value so sometimes it may not look like much, but it still puts things into perspective.

When I can't read tiny writing I use the zoom function on my phone's camera LOL so watching you use the flash to read the words made me giggle. ♥

I don't use perfume very often so I would actually prefer they all come in cute tiny bottles😂

Most well known perfumes do. They’re called miniatures but most of the time they’re quite expensive for what you actually get or are sold in a set with various different ones because they’re actually not meant to be used but rather to be collected

I think you're right about the need for more variation at the very least variation of product, but just as an FYI, YSL is sort of known for their red lipstick. Like when I think of YSL I think of red lipstick and so I think that's probably why they do that. Not that I'm super impressed with having so much in the calendar or anything. Because I do agree with you 100%... Even just variations of the kind of lipstick they put in there would have been nice, and maybe a couple less lipsticks and do some eyeshadow or hell, even a black Liquid eyeliner! Nail polish! They could have thrown another fragrance and a blush in there! And even though they're known for the red lipstick-- Maybe some Berry tones or nudes, just one would have been nice 🤷🏻‍♀️ but now you have a year's supply of red lipstick! Aren't you just *Thrilled?* 😉

My most memorable smell from childhood is the Beach Barbies that came with a bracelet with a shell shaped charm full of some sort of musk smelling solid perfume....

I would have loved to seen your reaction to the Chanel one but I don't think anybody would have wanted to spend $825 on that one! I saw one person react to it and it was pretty funny!

I think this is the best one so far, even with all the red lipsticks. I would actually buy this one.

If I could I'd take some of those reds from you I would. XD But seriously they're probably all shades of red because red's probably work across most skintones (I think back to the campaign I believe Maybelline did where it was shades that worked for all skintones and a good portion of them were reds) verses like a brow product that has pigment or a bronzer that could only work on certain skintones. That being said, yeah they could've done way less lipstick.

For all these products, 200€ at most would've been reasonable. That being said, great selection! Red is never boring... People complain about nude eyeshadows and lipsticks being boring but WANT them in advent calendars? I mean, alright, it's an opinion, but I think they're not as holiday related. It's every day items you can buy anywhere, whereas a luxurious red lipstick is timeless 😍 these would make great decor when they expire too.

This by far is my favorite youtube series to watch!
