Whoever was given the task of designing reptile for this game clearly put in as much effort as possible. To absolutely SLAMDUNK a character that has always been at a cross roads of a design and basically make all sides of the argument happy and make him look cooler than EVERY OTHER CHARACTER IN THE ROSTER is some hall of fame tier shit.

Not that i'm complaining Reptile is back but I do wish we got some representation of his Nimble Variation in MKX because that style is what made Reptile go from a character I like to my favorite character in fighting games. I still go back to MKX just to fuck around with Nimble it's so damn fun.

Agreed, especially in this timeline, Reptile/Syzoth learned combat by fighting his childhood bullies, according to one of his intro dialogues

feels like a large majority of people are trying to play reptile due to how much of a glowup he’s gotten, prolly one of the best redesigns in the series

Yup for sure the past designs for reptile really turned me off I didn’t like it as much but this redesign, attacks and the animations of his combos just looks so bad ass that it makes he happy they made him cooler it was much needed for this. Now I love reptile and I hope they keep him like that in future games

One thing holding me off is that MK games drop in playerbase and general interest really fast. The games also tend to not be as deep. Also the inputs feel weird compared to SF6.

When I watched footage of the game early on I was worried that the characters would have limited specials due to Kameos being in the game. But now I’m playing it and there are so many options and routes and cool stuff for pretty much everyone

Yeah I noticed pretty quickly a lot of characters just have some strings that will launch people as opposed to 11 where you had like 1 special that launched when enhanced and some krushing blows

Yeah it’s crazy that most characters get 30%+ with kombos that use no meter or kameo, it’s so fun. And as we get more kameos with DLC characters are gonna get even more options!

Coming from a dsp compilation to this is like having to chew a knife and fork and then being served a hundred dollar steak

This was a fun set of matches. Seeing you start off with very little to work with and by the end just demolishing with so many different combos was great. I faced a Reptile last night that would not stop spamming force ball, so this was refreshing. Good stuff Max

Reptile's been my main ever since MK2. He's had a lot of ups and downs over the years, but I'm really happy to see him kicking ass like a boss. Respect to NetherRealm for showing him the respect he deserves.

He was my first main but I abandoned him for smoke in 3 (so this game is good for me) but I may finally go back to reptile for the first time since 2 because he just looks so cool.

I love watching your vids because they teach my scrub behind so much like setting up combo starters.

I havent bought an MK at launch ever but MK1 had me so intrigued I preordered and even after only one evening I am having stupid fun with it

He's not some world-top pro, but I always find it funny when people try to downplay him too much. He has done tourneys and he's played for years. He IS better than most fighting game players, he's just not better than the sort of pro circuit types, generally speaking.

I recently got the maskless Reptile gear piece and it made me want to try him out. This makes me want to try him even more.

Gameplay wise, this game is so much fun.

Love how the silliness of being a lizard-man is so funny to Max 😂

Nice Reptile Online Matches Max. Reptiles Combos looks abit funky but very effective tho and that Armoured Wakeup is dangerous.

I was already debating going with Syzoth as my main but this sold me, he looks so flashy and kinda versatile

Bandito Sub-Zero...that's an interesting skin. :^) Reptile's always been my favorite of the ninjas. Green's my favorite color so I was instantly drawn to him in MK2, from then on I made it a point to get good with him in any MK that I played that he was available in. ........not that I'm any good at MK, but he's still my best/favorite character in the series. It's been years since I've played an MK, but it's good to see he's pretty damn awesome in this one. Really like what they did with his design, too.

Ive always loved this character, he’s super fun to play in MK1, definitely someone I want to keep using and practicing to main. 💚

That meterburn dash move reminds me so much of Saberwolf a.k.a Benny :) And many other moves, the only thing Reptile is missing is the "full moon" antiair punch :D

There's so many cool characters I haven't tried yet Mileena is too fun and I've just started trying Havik. My only gripe is the matchmaking doing a poor job of putting you with people of a similar skill level. I won my first set which was down to the wire then got 3 opponents in a row who clearly belonged at a way higher rank. SF6 definitely has a more beginner friendly online set up keeping you away from killers.

At 11 mins in was a nice corner kombo👍

The Argonians are back and better than ever before! Proceeds to summon swarm of Argonians to attack everything in sight and then buys Mortal Kombat 1 to complete the Argonian collection. (Yes I play a lot of Elder Scrolls Online but that is not the only game I play Lizardmen compulsively in.)

I it werid that when Max plays reptile, I think of his theme called Control by Traci Lords from Mortal Kombat (1995).

Reptile is back and he has the MK9 moveset. It's the best comeback

Also max some MK9 tech. Using slow meter forceball for approach is real good. It goes full screen and it's slow so you can just walk or dash behind it. Since reptile doesn't use meter on most of his combo's using meter on Slow forceball or the dash with the overhead to make unsafe strings safe is that goood shit

Reptile has been my main since MK2 all the way until his omission from MK11. His damage in this game and 50/50 mixup is unheard of. They did my boy Justice after all the abuse he’s endured in story.

I'm loving reptile so much, without looking up any combo's I was able to pull 300-320 dmg and some good counter combo's aswell. Most fun version of reptile we've had in MK

Don't have the game so can't comment on gameplay but as a kid playing the first three MKs, I'm really happy what they've done with Reptile for MK1, looks and story wise. He's been so dissrepected ever since MK4 lol.

So I have a question. As a casual fighting game player (I rarely play, and almost never against human players) what is the matchmaking for MK? I always seem to face people waaaay above my skill level. I mean I'm not horrible by any means. Just curious

you should try ending your air combos from the ground with forward 3,2 into death roll (enhanced version is just more dmg)

I've been having a blast with reptile in this game my only problem is that I wish his force ball was like mk9 or mkx, it doesn't travel full screen anymore, can't combo off ex dash, and there's no point of burning meter on invisibility doesn't do anything differently than the normal, pretty sure they will patch that later

Scorpion has been my main since the original mk but in this game i can not stop playing reptile he is hands down my favorite character in this game.

So when Mortal Kombat 2 comes out will you get to kameo random "guests" from other universes? 🤔

While it is really clever combining the reptilian and human history of the character for Mk1 I cant help but prefer when he's, well, a reptile. Just always thought it was neat having a non-human ninja

Sub-Zero in a sombrero...definitely never thought that would ever be a thing. Maybe I'm a minority, but I think it'd be cool if there were alternate colors or patterns for Syzoth's reptilian form.

Reptile’s Fatality is my second favorite one behind Geras’. His Brutalities are some of the coolest too

I don't really know fighting games that well but is there a reason they don't do their fatal blows that often? is it just to make editing easier to prevent demonetization or they just want to focus on their Combos or something like that?

Fatal blows can be valuable but dangerous to pull off. Leaving them vulnerable for major damage. So it's mostly a preference at the moment. There'll probably be future videos where Max incorporates them

Not to many guaranteed set up into them atm. But I think mostly it is to cut down on time editing the video. Remember Max pays someone to edit the video so every time he doesn't use a brutality or Fatality he is saving money.

The better you get you less you’ll use it. They aren’t safe. Once your opponent see’s that you have a fatal blow available, they’ll anticipate it. New players get overwhelmed and see it as an opportunity to come back and deal high damage, but it’s almost always better to remain strategic and not use it unless there’s a clear opportunity.

Is max playing Lie’s Of P again today or tomorrow?
