This list is really a top individual favorite cover list. This is primarily subjective. The cover was the lure to convince kids to part with their ten coppers. Most are appealing because it is essential for sales. A list of the worst covers would be harder to compile and more interesting.

Lists are always tough for so many reasons, but there's some great covers here... but when you say greatest, I think historical significance has to come into play, so that imo puts Action Comics at #1(I'll mention my favorite cover as a kid/teen collecting: Uncanny X-Men #268, Cap, Widow and Wolvie by Jim Lee, with the caption together again for the first time)

True story about The Walking Dead #19. I had a Robert Kirkman autographed copy I obtained at the Baltimore Comic-Con. Not the comic, the autograph. I took this issue with me because it was the current issue of The Walking Dead. This was back when getting autos was no big deal. You didn't have to pay for a VIP ticket or even pay for the auto. Creators would just sit at a table like a normal person and all you had to do was walk up and ask them for an autograph. There wasn't even a line. Years later I ended up selling this book on eBay. I totally screwed up in how I sent it. I sandwiched it between two pieces of foam board and sent it in a big padded envelope. When the buyer received it, it was bent. I was able to file an insurance claim and I made the buyer whole, but the book was ruined.

Oh god that was a terrible list. Even Superman 1 didnt make it huh? No Cap Schomberg? No Baker? No Wrightson? wow

This has got to be a troll list to drive traffic to their site to complain. Ignoring the crap modern comics listed over classic covers, so many great, iconic covers are ignored completely. Off the top of my head, where is Crime Suspstories #22, Sandman #1, X-Men #251, Love and Rockets #1, Zap #0? I appreciate them including Eightball, but not that issue.

Everyone has their own favorite comic book covers of all time. That list is pretty good, I don't agree with many of those choices, but here's my additions: FF#1, purely for the classic beginnings, Punisher #1 Zeck cover, FF #5 Kirby, Mr miracle #6, Captain America annual #8, legends of the dark knight #23 Bart sears, green lantern#50 parallax. An honorable mention to Dick Tracy for the best comic strips ever, was collected later into a "comic" book, and Modesty Blaise comic strip which was more adults & James bond-ish.

My list would annoy most people because I kinda hate most silver and golden age covers. My list would be all modern. It's also why I hate seeing the comic wall of people on KZread that's just a bunch of keys. The walls are always the same and a bunch of boring covers. I don't personally understand key collectors and slab collectors for that reason. A lot of first appearances don't even have the character who appears on the cover.
