Well that is definitely... oh crap, I lost the word in the time it took for me to comment. Something like emphasis and extreme, I here it a lot when people analyze science fantasy and fiction. well technical no. it vibrates to move 333 times in a second but a cut is cutting something and im skeptic he moves fast enough to dont have empty moves of the blade.

Thinking quickly, Allen fashioned a home-made reciprocating saw out of a bread knife, some bolts, and a reciprocating saw.

the fact that hes stupid enough to think he "made" something here by attaching a knife to a commercial product, and that he dosent realize that these already exist in the form of reciprocating saws and jig saws really says a lot about this guys brain power.
