    There is an art to ... being able to take, what appears to be on the face of it, two random and seemingly disparate items, but you assist the listener, to make the connection on their own. Another way is to turn a double entendre, back on the other person, as it their mind that's "in the gutter" when you were leading them the entire time. Cerebral gymnastics are a hoot

    Seriously? So you didn't get how him explaining that Ryan replaced generic phrases with things that conjure funny visuals makes the process of learning to be funny less abstract and gives you a clearer idea of what to go for? Why can't people accept that social skills are SKILLS? As in stuff that you'll inevitably suck at in the beginning, regardless of whatever advice you get, and that you'll have to practice and fail repeatedly before you can be good at it. Just because a piece of advice won't make you instantly funnier doesn't mean it's bad advice. If you think it is then you just don't understand how skills work.

    This won't work for normal people irl anyway. You'll come off as cringe, annoying and tryhard. Nobody in everyday social situations wants to hear someone acting like they're trying out weak stand up material. There is a reason nobody talks like this. It works because RR is already a rich celebrity. You are all missing the part where he has established clout so people will play along with his jokes no matter what.

  • @victorlima224

    @victorlima224

    2 жыл бұрын

    Here’s what you have to do. The main thing that flying requires is the ability to throw yourself at the ground and miss. You must throw yourself forward with all your weight and the willingness not to mind that it's going to hurt, however it will surely hurt if you fail to miss the ground. The difficulty is in missing the ground, and doing so accidentally, as deliberately intending to miss the ground does not work.

  • @victorlima224

    @victorlima224

    2 жыл бұрын

    It is also advisable not to listen to what others may say, as they could say something such as: "Good God, man, you can't possibly be flying!". It is vitally important not to believe them or they will suddenly be right, and you will find yourself failing to miss the ground once again.

    Does he work in sales? Very effective at reducing tension and making the customer comfortable to buy & less likely to closely examine every verbal detail.

    @@mmcs4973people sometimes confuse self awarness and noticing your not good at certain things as self deprecating. Its not though big society issue rn is using words that are only half correct. Self deprecating you literally dont like yourself. " i suck at etc etc " " im not smart in etc etc " Or a big one " im fat " if you are fat or not smart in a certain subject, point it out then change to improve in that subject its just being realistic with yourself. This comment confused that topic. Cheers hope you learned something.

    I used to chill with Ryan in my late teens and early twenties. He is the most down to earth person I have ever met. This is rare in people who posess such intelligence and wit.

    One of the keys to success and popularity, I think, is to have the "intelligence" to treat others as equals, each valuable in their own way -- and to "level that playing field" with wit and humor.

    I think some people are naturally born with quick wit. I have a three year old granddaughter that can come up with witty comebacks at her age. I told her to stop running around like a chicken with its head cut off (she’s wild). Her response” cock a doodle do”.
