I remember playing the coop one night with a random and we played right to the end when you got to fight each other, the guy was waiting for me on his side while I crawled below and snuck up behind him, we grew this kind of unspoken bond and friendship going through the missions so it was weird killing him, good times though.

It was my first Splinter Cell, actually, and while I can argue as long as it takes that Conviction wasn’t nearly the best in terms of gameplay (huge kudos to the Chaos Theory) I wouldn’t even dare to say that it hasn’t been the best Splinter Cell story-wise. Oh, man, I LOVE how angry Sam is in this part, I LOVE how Michael Ironside is LIVING THROUGH that pain Sam endures and I LOVE how fucking stylish that game was. It has probably the best main menu theme amongst any other games I’ve played before-because it sets that creepy thriller vibe just perfectly. It was a good game

Though Conviction departed from the typical Splinter Cell formula it was very good and fun to play. The change in gameplay made sense given the story and we finally got to see what Sam is fully capable of when he's not holding back.

I remember the marketing for this was basically Sam Fisher unleashed. No rules or protocol to hold him back anymore, and immediately in that first mission you get to no diff all of them lol

I remember when this game was hated and said that it was the worst Ubisoft game. Now these people are ready to take back their words.

As much as i love the older Splinter Cell games, Conviction & Blacklist are my ultimate favorites. Especially blacklist. The karambit kills & the option to be non lethal or lethal was so dope.

No, its Hong Kong Massacre and game was release in 2019, game was inspired by Max Payne, but action scenes like mark and execute / killing in motions and takedowns are very similar to Blacklist and Conviction, where both games were released BEFORE first John Wick Movie @@3LITEADV3NTURES

Remember people hating it, when I finally got it I never understood why. It wasnt your typical SC game, but a welcome change of scenery and pace - imo. Also, Michael's voice is unmatched.

the hate for this game wasn't really there before and after its release. Blacklist, on the other hand, was when the hate train took off, and things were even more ridiculous there, more so since the haters couldn't get down why ironside stepped down

Blacklist actually brought some stealth elements back from the older games that people enjoyed. It's funny how times change. I always liked Conviction, but when this game came out the market was oversaturated with third person shooters and action games. The state of modern AAA games just make us look back and realize that these games weren't bad at all.

Fans still hate it

i put 80 or so hours into this on coop and singleplayer cause it was the fun kind of stealth where you can clear a path (or even full stealth certain segment's if you try hard enough) i just hope blacklist gets a sequel with Michael Ironside voicing Sam again someday.

Conviction is still one of my favorites of all time, made my eyes widen to see it get appreciated outta no where❤🎉

I like how the screen goes black and white when your in shadow and vains color in the light very nice touch to the game that im just now approaching, i miss this game.

Yo this game is actually fun i like the movement and the parkour the places u can climb onto like the pipes and his fast when moving the slide cancelling is cool

Majority of Ubisoft games are like this....absolutely hated at their release and for next year or two...but after a while they all of sudden become a masterpiece

I love this game so much. There was a time where it literally never left my 360's disc tray for over a year. Just never stopped playing it. Edit: Xbox 360, not PlayStation 2

When you're in the dark, you are almost invisible. It's a mechanic in almost all Splinter Cell games. The older games has a light meter on the HUD that shows how visible you are in the environment. While in this game, the screen turns black and white if you're in the dark.

The game play was buttery smooth. Extremely satisfying to thin out an entire room with Sam’s old man strength.

I was thinking this the past 5 years. Splinter Cell Conviction's seamless and smooth gameplay was unforgettable, especially that COOP oh my days

I am still playing conviction today because I was addicted to, since when I was 10

Ultimate nostalgia from this game. The interrogation parts were the best.

No, he was "hiding" in the shadows. You can check the hud, the color of it indicates whether the enemies can or cannot see you. The ai in this game is stupid, you can literally stand in front of an enemy with a small shade covering you and they wouldn't see you.

It's incredible how he walks in front of people, jumps on them, shoots near them and no one sees or hears a sh*t. Stealth games: where enemies are deaf and visually impaired...

I remember playing this obsessively at my cousin's house, especially on co-op, just because of how creative and cinematic the game was. I was genuinely surprised when critics and splinter-cell "fans" hated on this game for being too cinematic and confrontational; they wanted emphasis on stealth and sneaking that was known in the older Splinter Cell titles. But when you consider that it was one of the few stealth games of its time that put emphasis on combat, it just clicked that it was a welcome break from the monotony of stealth; that Conviction turned Sam Fisher into something much more powerful than a shadow in the night. Then again, I wasn't playing Resident Evil 6 nor the PS Vita Metal Gear Solid games, so I likely wasn't as inoculated with the generic shooter games at the time as others were.

You got it backwards, junior. Sam Fischer from Splinter cell gave inspiration to joke films like John dick.

I recall this game back in the day my cousin had put me on this played all day long, sad i had to leave that day i didn't have a console yet but i had a PC did evrythng to get Splinter cell even sold my pride to ask from this dude i didnt like got his usb drive and never looked back 😂, this splinter Cell made me love stealth games i was so into it surreal moments aww good times, and I've waited for people to talk bout this game for so long my favorite level was at the army base least i think its an army base that was super fun Tom Clancy is a classic 🎮🎯💥

Honorable mention, the voice acting and dialogue of the enemy NPCs are spot on. Not only do they sound somewhat realistic and somewhat intimidating, but in the context of gameplay , they excitingly present actionable info.

I played it about 13 years ago on a GeForce 8600GT 512MB. Extremely well optimized, and the game´s mechanics were on point.

This game was even more fun on Co-Op

When they did Blacklist, I know they wanted voice and performance capture, which was why they changed performers... but they should have had Ironside as Fisher, taking over Lambert's old job. Then just give the new "boots on ground" guy a different name. Fisher was born in 1957, so he'd have been 55 in 2012. It would have made sense for him to step aside for a younger guy. And we gamers would still have had Michael Ironside growling in our ear.

I think Ubisoft nailed the art design with this one. I love how the screen turns black and white when in the dark and turns into natural colors when out of it. Cool idea.
