Yes, but also I think part of the appeal of the channel is that Simp doesn't hide his failures. When a new video comes up, you never know what you're going to get and it's a real treat if it's a good one. I like this genuineness a lot more than if he replayed every challenge a bunch and only showed the best run

This was easily one of the most satisfying "Mission Accomplished" I've ever witnessed!

I love that your opponent just also decided to only move pawns for the first 6 moves.

not too uncommon for beginners to push pawns and nothing else at the start. i remmeber doing it myself a few years ago. from how well the opponent played (relative others at 100 elo) this guy seemed like he didnt deserve to be rated 120-something and just has a new account.

@@Syntheticlime new accounts start at a minimum of 400 if you choose "new to chess" You have to be bad enough or intentionally lower your elo to get it 100 let alone stay there. There's a decent amount of smurfing going on there, even by low rated 500s that want to Smurf lol

When I saw "Finish the game with at least five horsies on the board", I interpreted that as "(You) finish the game with five (of your) horsies on the board)." This is much more realistic but I think it goes to show how often understanding the challenge comes into play here.

It would have been impossible lmao. If the enemy's horses can't die too they should be included, otherwise the timer will run out, the opponent will blunder and end the game or resign too early, promoting 5 pawns without swiping off all opposing forces is unmanageable etc.

video idea: bring someone your level in chess, and you each get a random challenge from your videos (of a similar difficulty). first to complete their challenge wins, without knowing what the opponent's challenge is.
