Can you imagine being chased by one of these? You'd hear a light pattering sound in the distance, 2 seconds later it would be light thumping, then seconds more and it would be just feet away. The next thing you'd experience would be a 125lb animal slamming into you, jaws first, tearing at your flesh as it swings to the other side of your body to slow down. You fall to the ground stunned, and disoriented. Then it's 2-inch incisors bite you over and over in your neck and spine. Then you lose feeling to your body as your nerves get damaged from the bites. Finally your jugular drains out and your brain starts going dark, and you die. All happening in a matter of seconds. At least that's what I picture.

If you had a helmet and some neck protection, killing this thing shouldn't be that difficult once it loses its speed. Just stand and wrestle it head on, break its limbs, and snap its neck. Or just use tools and weapons, the human way. Humans rule.

Haha you really think you could just grab a cheetah and "snap" its neck lol your real funny..with the speed that it would be going at which in the vid said 75mph plus its 195 pound frame of muscle crashing into you at that speed? Your ass would be flying like you got hit by a train..maybe even worse cuz its running as fast as it.

***** I don't think so, it's really hard to grab something moving that fast, especially one that's covered in oily, musky fur. They have a faster reaction time than we do as well. It would probably correct/evade before you put your hands on it.

Brilliance in Natural Genetic Engineering aka Evolution, regardless of your love for other Big Cats, the Cheetah 🐆 stands in its own class as amazing convergence of just the right genetic adjustments for pure speed, changing direction, straight line, and precision tracking while spending much of the time in the air. Can watch and re-watch never gets old, remarkable filming, timing captures the raw power, agility, and 'undisputed king of speed on land'❤

Think about this: humans could not match the Cheetah's speed until less than our last century's technology achieved it. We can only catch up with nature by defying our own nature. Therein is something either perverse or transcendental about us.

Some may argue that nature gave us intelligence and thus the ability to create technology which we, as a species, have used to to survive the ages. If that is true then we are not defying our nature. Now is there something either perverse or transcendental about us? It would probably depend on your point of view.

We have a choice to either guide our technology toward surviving long enough to evolve, or to bring on our own extinction. My hope is that we, as a species, will evolve to dispense w/ our useless natural behaviors that threaten us & our environment. The long-term future could be amazing!

Let's not forget 75 miles/hr is not the average speed of a cheetah. Some types of cheetahs max below 45 miles/hr but the average is 60 miles/hr

For non-american, that's average out to be around 96.5 km/h.

Only very fast superbikes can accelerate to 60 mph in 3 seconds. This makes the cheetah's acceleration mind blowing.
