This is my favorite Project Zomboid video on the internet. Seeing a man take a chance, theres something there, they both know it. He's coy about it, showing his hand in a virtual world with feelings based in reality. She doesn't run... lets him slowly open up and show his perspective of what could be. She holds her cards tight, but kindly. Then!.. She is taken from us all! Shown dignity and love, but as always... never enough time to express ones true feeling before they leave us...

you know sometimes i wish this were more true. It certainly feels like this when you start off, but slowly drifts away from it and makes you wonder "why didnt they just do it like the sims did?". An example: cooking. Imagine how much easier it would be to click the fridge, stove or whatever and click "cook..." which then took you to a menu with all available options, instead of the terrible crafting menu, then cooking tab, theb being close to containers with all the stuff, etc.

i love it when a game provides so much fun / immersion, that you can just be some "NPC in somebody elses game" and it still feels great

What a brilliant, and sickeningly wholesome, story of life, love and the ultimate sacrifice! You built a fantastic garden for Loushy, decorated the house up all nice, she got a pet cat of sorts.. you started by painting the walls for her and ended by painting the walls WITH her. A tale of two friends separated by a great divide, finally meeting in the best Northern Exposure meets Only Fools and Horses crossover we never knew we needed! 😁 You two are absolutely adorable, properly good stuff mate, well done! (and as a Kentish lad myself I fully support your "The North" comments 😂)

The customisability and the varied play-styles are the main reason I keep coming back to PZ. There aren't many games out there that offer the huge variety of mods - from the minor additions/tweaks to the full-blown game-changing mechanics that the PZ workshop has to offer. I love this game and I am very thankful to you and other content-creators whose videos got me back into it after abandoning it nearly 10 years ago. EDIT: As a fellow Brit I whole-heartedly agree with the "NORTH" comments...damn heathens....

I always chuckle when I see "THE NORTH" sign posted. Glad someone else thinks about it. This was a cool video, and I definitely feel like the PZ community in general is pushing ever more towards narrative game play. The raw survival aspect is mostly figured out now (although B42 will mix that up I'm sure) and realising the deeper game play is in how you live in the world rather than how you survive has been great for all of us. I'm breathing new life into PZ by joining my first ever multi-player experience with Mister Lamprey's server, and while it is outrageously difficult, it's actually been some of the most PZ fun I've had just because there's a growing community working together.

You and Loushy are so adorable together! My bf and I had started the game together roughly about a year ago now, and then we brought on a friend to our coop server I ran. It's been a ton of fun and ive put in some hours on the game enough to experience most of it (still havent made it to some HUGE cities yet) but its just kinda wearing on us so we decided to take a break until b42, however long that will be or if it will ever appear, we don't know but we're excited for the update nonetheless!

I've been playing this game for a decade now, sometimes I feel burnt out but other times I use mods. For the last couple of years my youngest son and I have started playing every other weekend. It is funny that he was in nappies when I got the game and now he is a teenager I get to play with him. His friends have recently brought the game as well because he kept saying how much he enjoyed it. So now I have converted an old pc into a server and we all play. Although it seems I am off in the wilderness and trying to find guns and things while both he and his friends go on zombie murdering sprees lol. But when I felt burnt out on the game but nothing else interested me I use mods mostly and then I will roleplay. I have even started playing on other peoples servers and have been having a blast. PZ has so much to offer, it is more like a blank canvas and you can play it anyway you choose. Thanks for the video, cheers.

Gonna need a mod for turning fish you catch into wall mount trophies of course the main point being having a big mouth billy bass something that i literally havent seen in person since the 90's in northern kentucky as a kid. Loushy would be able to keep her next gargantuan fish she falls in love with AND she could make it sing Take Me to the River and Don't Worry Be Happy. Im dead serious btw now that i actually think about it ive only ever encountered billy bass's in kentucky as a child during the 90's i actively associate them with kentucky even though i know thats not correct lmao

For anybody waiting anxiously for B42 and struggling to find something to do in the mean time but love to play Zomboid, I highly suggest looking into what role-playing in video games is and finding a role-play server to join on Zomboid! Role-playing in games can extend their playability immensely, and when you have a game as tailored for RP as PZ is you can truly find unlimited ways to occupy your time and be entertained.

Always love all your videos, for the news of Project Zomboid I'm still waiting for 42 but you keep me interested in this game.

Nowadays I game once every few months, this past weekend, and before that in December. We just reformed the company and finished up a bunch of hirings and systems implementation, and this weekend I got that feeling of having no immediate responsibilities. I’m not sure when I’ll get back to my new Maldraugh base but that 8 hours of gameplay really cleared my head and got me ready for all the new stuff I gotta do. Until the next breathing space, maybe 42 will be out by then…

Also taking a break! Attempted to play again but felt something was lacking, even with all of my mods downloaded. I find that I'm wishing for ways to make the game feel worth playing once you've already based up, found weapons, meds and food, have a vehicle and your base is zombieproofed. I'd been wanting for farm animals and pets long before they announced that they would implement them! B42 has me excited enough to make me try Zomboid again, but I get burnt out too quickly.

Omg!!! I've been super busy on my latest craftsmanship projects and summer job so I didn't see this right away until someone went "hey, did you know you were in Duck's latest video"?? L:MKDS. I feel like such an ass for not saying anything until now. This is so charming!!! That Lost Province wipe was such good vibes despite not being the greatest map. A+ community shenanigans.

A mate and I often run a 2 player server with a more 'action hero' theme. After taking a break for a few months we decided to run a game with a high percentage of sprinters. We had a session with 2 helicopter events in very close proximity and ended with some very close running battles fighting back to back with shovel and crowbar. It was insanely fun.

I've watched and appreciate your video's Duck. I'm only 400h in but I'm hooked. Wish I found this game many years ago.

I love this game because it never makes it boring,there is always way to play that i didnt play it,right now i am playing with mods for hidden bunkers so i made character that can shot flawlessy ,turned off spawning and now just clearing bunkers,finding acess cards and wandering around trying to find the rest of them,ussually i played harder survival type

I am not taking a break because I usually playing games in rotation and not skipping the game for months only for 1-2 week. I like the game because you can learn a lot also mod the game you wish to. I made some changes on various mods and followed other modders works and altered it to my like and added things what the game can offer. Multiplayer would be interesting with a like minded community but I usually end up in games what not requires so much activity in conversations. It's also glad you found a good person whom you can play together and ultimately most of the online games are about do something together which can make bonds. Once the new updates are added to the game and have a clear and faster way for the afterward content then I can figure out much more options and hopefully will find more mods that altering the game. Currently I am learning the basics of coding and doing stuff in the meantime to improve.

I've been absolutely enthralled with helldivers 2 lately but I've been playing bits of zomboid again, one thing I love about this game is that once I get the itch to play, zomboid is just so damned addictive lol. I've been nonstop telling the act man he should review this game though lol I think he'd like it Edit: The whole meal and custom made painting were absolutely adorable dude 💜🤘

I always found Zomboid to be a fun game where I can play outside of my base or inside on bad days (like when its super rainy, foggy, or when a Blizzard is sweeping through town). I build it up as much as I can and make list of items I'd like to acquire by watching house tour videos on youtube to see if I can get that thing I like in that video or something. Also I haven't fully explored the map too much. I think I've driven over all the motorways and roads Northwest, Southwest, South, and North overall for the map, I haven't really touched Westcliff or Louisville all that much. I worry about my base being in Rosewood and will the perishables be ok still if the generator remains running? This is why I want an Ice Chest mod or a refridgerated/freezer storage in a vechile. An RV mod with a Popsicle Freezer(s) is the only way to transport perishables safely I think. I mostly play solo because I don't have a friend who likes Zomboid and I play out this story in my head that I'm playing my favorite Heroine's story after she crash landed in Kentucky, of all places, and has to learn how to survive in this once civilized place when shes used to everything being so different. My head canon, for whichever character I play, really just boils down to the fact they need to go to a particular place, collect a particular item, and go to the Louisville bridge at the far northeast end of the city and their rescued/safe/happy ending.

I ended up starting a car collector playthrough. Found a Mclaren F1 and an F40 as well, now I want a Porsche lol.

For me it’s an escape of what it would feel like to move a hundred miles south of my home and coincidentally be in the zombie apocalypse. Just a normal day in Kentucky

I've been considering taking a break from PZ until b42 drops for months, but have never been able to go through with it simply because there is no game like it. There are few, if any, games as immersive as project zomboid, where my character and I can be totally separate entities from one another, yet where I still feel like I'm a part of the story, either in the form of a camera or a guardian angel. I can tell virtually any story I want! It's really addictive - even though I get a little demotivated from waiting on b42 for so long, I just keep coming back with new ideas for a base or playthrough. It really fuels my creativity! There was a while, though, over a year back, when I was a bit newer, where I did take a break for a few months in anticipation of b42. But when I came back, I realized my break was mostly just because I hadn't really developed my playstyle yet, and I was ruining my fun by doing things I didn't actually like to do, like min-maxing skills. Waiting also sucked, but it was my force of habit that was the worst culprit back then. Finding my playstyle and realizing what I liked and didn't like took me ages because in the beginning, I used to play with a group I had nothing in common with, gameplay-wise, but when I I stopped joining them, and now that I've stopped doing everything I didn't actually like to do, and started doing more of what I like to do, I just can't put the game down, even when I think I should take a break! :D

I play because it feels more like home , i build a lot of survivor base and love seeing them live their life 😁

I’m mad had the gas station in doe valley. Was working on knocking out walls and expanding the outside bathroom. Went to sleep and apparently left the stove one. I survived but half the gas station is gone. And most of the surrounding area has caught on fire. Just disappointed and can’t seem to go back.

I took a leaf out of your book and tried something different. Instead of restarting the game when I die, I am now continuing with a new character and every character is contributing something new to our safehouse in West Point. The dudes from Riverside and Muldraugh brought a ton of VHS tapes for the Newby Mees in the future. 'Our' aim now is to get every precious VHS ever produced. Louisville here we come. Gollum would be proud of us.

I've stopped playing entirely, i'm learning to make mods and learning Luascript. I know that some of it may change, but a lot of it won't.

As much as I love PZ, I'm taking a break till b42 drops or even when the mods I use get updated. But hopefully soon, I'll feel that itch to play again.

some people says the games are cheap but for me its whole some ❤ love the game so much.

What keeps *any* game fresh, for me, is... playing different games a lot, or at least switching between 2-3 "currently played" games. Right now, that is Project Zomboid, HBS Battletech with Roguetech, Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts, and Star Citizen. When SC bugs get me down, I switch out. PZ gets boring, don't play it for a few weeks, check out something new. That said, I also still haven't sunk *so* many hours in PZ yet, and still refining mod list, trying out different map mods and starts, etc. 530 hours in the last year or two, with many months-long breaks.

There are some crazy modded servers out there like the Z-Life RP server which is p much stalker with zombies in zomboid.

Yep!! We've done our own STALKER wipes before, even made our own mods for it :)

I was taking a break for a while, but I've decided I wanted to get one last good playthrough in B42. There's a ton of mods I have like the vaccine mod or the scrap weapons mod which I've never really experimented with and I want to experience them before B42 comes and breaks them or renders them obsolete.

Apocalypse love is the best love.

Yeah but the modders will fix most of them pretty quick and new ones will fill the gaps :) Things don't stay that way for long.

So i like how they have a no crunch mentality at the studio but I do struggle with how long updates take. It takes away from the momentum of the game and thus the community. Idk if the answer is smaller more segmented updates but yikes.

I only got 1000 hours in the game and 95% of those hours were me just figuring the game out lmao I just started really getting into it there’s a lot I haven’t done in this game yet and with my all time favorite mod snakes mod pack I can’t wait to hunt that’s something I strive to do every play through but end up just shooting up the town and looting because I’m a loot goblin I also finally built a log wall and gate a few days ago first time I really built anything in the game I’ve also never farmed before or foraged I haven’t done much in the game except for shoot kill loot etc 😂

I started 21 characters and 9k kills ago. My reason to keep playing kis the same as in rome: Total War: paint the map. I want to clear it all, and with a medieval weapon mod it feels like how it would be for me in real life (got some 20 swords in my attic) Also: I'm wondering, with Loushy so in love with the catfish, maybe she would like some little ducklings?

Now first week of June the spanish community event of PZ comeback to twitch for the 3rd consecutive year, it would be a nice way to leave B41 behind! let's hope b42 is around the corner 🙌🙌

I stopped playing PZ a few times because of the mods, every time I started to play with mods and see content creators doing challenges, it made me wanted to uninstall my mod and played the mod that they are using 🤣 the inconsistency is consistent lmao.. But thanks to you with the mods showcase, I can pick the one suits me well

Download Random Zombies Mod and put sprinters to 5% Make Hearing and Sight Random. Allow 1-5% respawns after a week. (Look up how respawns actually work and thank me later) Put Helicopter to Sometimes. Or use expanded Helicopter Events Mod. Set all loot to Very rare and weapons + meds to Extremely rare Unfit, Very Underweight, Weak. Enjoy until build 42!
