Great tips for beginners!
Another tip. When you take a pull on the line before you drop it on the pile, get a rough estimate of how much line each pull is. Like your wingspan is about your height, maybe 6 feet. But when prepping your line (flake) how much line per pull. 3 feet? Then as you pile it up keep count. And know how long the line is.
