About The Wandering Village:
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with the creature to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world that now surrounds you.
Build your village
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over the creature's back. Plan production chains and optimize them to utilize the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Live on the creature s back
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with the creature and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Discover different biomes
Travel through a multitude of different biomes and adapt your village to their unique opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artifacts.
Research new technologies
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Survive the wastelands
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

you should change the production of the dung collector to biogas for the decontaminator first. have a stock of biogas for when you need to decontaminate the land
Seeing Onbu walking happily is hella adorable!
I like that if Onbo likes you and is happy it will have it's head held high and walk like it is listening to a happy song only it can hear. :) (Edit) Bile extractor OR compost heap are used to produce the ingredient used in the Decontamination building to fight against spore spread. :) You need one or the other. Be aware, the Bile extractor will cause damage to Onbo's health.

Yes, more please. One thing most city-builders lack is an endgame. It would be cool if this game has multiple possible endings.

Time ending: you survive 200 days, and your village has thrived Population ending: you have sustained a population of 120 people, and rebuilt a nation on the back of the beast Distance ending: you have traveled 500 kilometers, and have found a new land to settle in, free of poison Economic ending: you stockpiled over 5000 points worth of items (complex items worth more) and have become a traveling wonder of the world Domination ending: you have cleared contaminated objects or treated patients over 400 times, showing that you can handle anything that comes your way

**Endings**: 1. Death: Overwhelmed by a lack of food/a lack of water/other disasters, the villagers' new home turned into a mass grave. With no human to care for it, the Onbu slowly but surely followed, perishing in a doomed world whose fate was decided long ago. Requirement: All villagers die. 2. Onbu death: With the death of the Onbu, their last hope of building a sanctuary was gone. The villagers followed soon after. Requirement: The Onbu dies due to a lack of care from the villagers. 3. Greener pastures: Against all odds, both the Onbu and the villagers found a new land untouched by the toxic spores that ravaged most of the known world. Requirement: Travel a set distance/each biome at least ten times. 4. Stewards of nature: Deciding to take matters into their own hands, the villagers dedicated themselves to scouring the world of the toxic spores, vowing to never rest until future generations would be free of the plague. Requirement: Max out the dedicated research trees.
Remember when you change your crops, change your kitchen items as well, to give your villagers more food.
Can't believe he hasn't mentioned the strongest shaped dirt patch yet...

You know what's funny? I started watching this channel before I decide to choose a course to pursue. Fast forward a few months later I'm doing civil engineering. Somehow fate can be quite interesting. Like I had no intention or interest in doing it and now I'm doing it and I'm actually interested in said field.

So the game has become available on steam and is waaayyyy too good. I inadvertently managed to spend 10hrs without realising as the desert biome music is just sooo good.
Wow I guessed your score for the bridge review in the intro. I'm getting better at this. Maybe I should get a shirt!
So happy you picked this game up, I’ve been excited for its release for quite a while
Been watching your videos recently and I’ve been loving your content I’m a very big bloons td6 and timberborn fan now because of you 😂 and I love watching how much of a comedian you are it brightens my day sometimes and I’m thinking of becoming a patron just because 😂
I always love watching his vids during my engineering class
FYI water isn't such big of a deal, especially if you have plenty of food is store. Water is used only for plantation, not drinking. So with a good stock of both water and food (both raw and prepared) before a desert episode, you'll be fine. I never had any "water issue" in desert. I just switch my production to corn and cut the herb and 'shroom production to still have some production, but generaly what I have in stock is sufficient. Note on food, berry bushes are particularly usefull, they produce whatever the climate, and they're expanding, as more bushes pop in existence. So the efficiency of your production will slowly but steadily increase. For now I have two gathering spot that now are at 100% or close, producing muesly non stop and still have extra btw, I do the same as you, at least for now aim to gather as many nomad as possible, so can have everything fully staffed at all time
the minimal contact on the top is clearance for expansion of the bridge when it heats up of course... imagine not even engineerinating bro
that bridge was a trust bridge (trussed) and had some amazing structure too harsh on the marking there :P
Thank you for your noon EST uploads. I get to enjoy these at lunch daily
Build air wells and tanks! Also you need another building to process the dung into gas for the decontamination guys.
Absolutely loving this series, the aesthetic of this game is utterly phenomenal.
I think Onbu is the metaphor of Earth and that's beautiful.
FUN FACT: did you know tht in Minecraft, turtles, when hit by lightning, becomes bowl of soup..... so taking into consideration that Onbu is a giant turtle-dinosaur-village carrying-sentient-creature so imagine if he gets hit by lightning then ur entire village suddenly becomes a village on top of a giant soup bowl yeah tht dark lol
Hey RCE idk how you didnt not think of that but you can just run threw or lay down before storms
You should add a second compost heap to make poo into biofuel for the decontaminatior. Especially since you should start hitting spore clouds soon. Also remember you don’t need the decontaminator staffed until you hit the spore clouds so treat it like an emergency fire brigade, keep it closed unless you see a spore cloud coming and fill it with people even if you have to sack some people. Also you should build a second decontaminator around your farms just in case they get infected.
Matt, you can try to tell onbu to walk or run to control the pace. Like when there is a tornado up ahead you can tell him to run to avoid it
I just bought the Onbu petting sim and ready to play some this weekend!!
So...uh... there's lore in this game?! The armor (EDIT: and the fact that onbu is a bit diffident, but still used to have people riding and giving him orders... doubt the horn blower is something you came up yesterday) makes you think that onbus were used as weapons (hence the missing horn, onbu lost is during a war) and someone decided to go nuclear spreading a biological weapon (the gas) to try and win the war, but it went out of hand rendering the world a wasteland with only nomads, ken shiro style... very interesting if it's told through small increment hints like a souls game...
17:53 Last episode you chose to cut the trees around it, not to leave it alone
Serious question: where can I find more of these bridge reviews?
I’m just surprised people haven’t started posting photos of bridges in RCEs discord for a bridge review episode on the channel
Yay new vid! Love your content mate! 😀
My only opinion on that ramp is it might be a little wasteful from so much wood
Matt!. Try 'the line' in infra space
this is the content i was hopeing to find when i go to youtube. love all your videos!

Dear real civil engineer. The general contractor in me little upset you didn't finish the path to the doorway. For the farmer's Hut, what are you an architect.

Well that’s what happens when you build out of straw.
The fact that onbu has spikes means that it either has or is a predator
I bought the game and played for a while but for some reason I could never keep the food production going and as soon as a desert showed up everyone starved to death 😔 I don't know what I was doing wrong, I was overflowing with water and even made sure to plant cactuses as soon as it became to dry for beets
19:40 We were on the verge of greatnes! We were this close!
The funniest part of the video is that he did a bridge review of people making a bridge 😂😂😂
Anyone wonders how those people get on and off Onbu? Do they have a 200 m ladder or something ?
I don't know why do I love this game so much. I was waiting for the is game play video.
the heat wave is good actually, it increases growth of some plants like cacti
It be cool if you could make buildings, then you could name a hut Jaba. Jaba the hut.
Thanks to your videos I bought this game and I am loving it! The onbu trebuchet is the cutest thing ever... hahah

How long did you survive. My highest is 45 days
The Wandering Village series needs an opening tune.
Imagine this guy is chaotic and always leaves the scavengers he sent out to hunt. This is totally not me asking anyone blatantly about what happens if you leave them behind by making Onbu run.
Love the series
I love the onbu please continue this. Hes so cute and happy
So the original bridge review was 6.9! Nice.
You need to teach onbu some tricks. Sit, shake, roll over. No, wait, not that last one, not the last one!
I hope ombu doesn’t move a lot when he/she sleeps
RCE, prove you're a real engineer and design an Onbu/Kaiju rated box and girder bridge. Of course you are not allocated sufficient funds, I want it completed in half the time required (so my election term isn't up) and you better play nice with the architects.
Is anyone gonna mention that in the pic of the devs, the legs of the left bridge girl look like they’re actually the legs of the guy in the purple an gray hoodie behind her? Really threw me for a loop the first time i saw the pic.
I have a great idea! You can make the tesla valve in Minecraft
Best bridge review yet
Can u make a playlist of this series or link the other videos of it I can’t find them
I was going to say looks like they are doing a fusion, like “fusion ha!!!!”

I've wanted to get the game for a while, now that I saw your vids I'm going to :)
Does Blitz and RCE have some sort of unspoken rivalry? They seem to upload videos on the some games within a few minutes of each other.

Have anyone wondered, where is Onbu even going?
Another post since it got deletet. I wont send the link in here again: Yo RCE, one of the devs asked me on 9gag, what score to give the "bridge" at the beginning of the video. I told her/him, that i wanted to give you the stage since you are the engineering master. I think the bridge needs a 2nd actual review. proof: Link Deleted,
