About The Wandering Village:
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with the creature to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world that now surrounds you.
Build your village
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over the creature's back. Plan production chains and optimize them to utilize the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Live on the creature s back
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with the creature and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Discover different biomes
Travel through a multitude of different biomes and adapt your village to their unique opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artifacts.
Research new technologies
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Survive the wastelands
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

I tried this game myself, and one of the biggest challanges is just learning all the tells, the foresight, the actual effeciency of farms, and the struggles of decontaminating. Some of the things I can share is the following (these are not ways to play, or corrections, but just the rules the game won't tell you about): It is always worth builidng the latest house. SImply living in the most comfortable house will put productivity above 100%. Best part about buildings getting knockeddestroyed and need a rebuilding is that they don't need new resources to rebuild. So your glass/iron spent on any building is safe. For a farm, only do 9-ish tiles per farmer, meaning that a normal farm will at most have 36 farm tiles, and not the whole radius. Your farmers simply aren't fast enough to fill out the entire area, so it is just wasted soil. At worst, the bad AI will cause the farmers to prioritize planting more crops then harvesting, thus causing productions problems. By limiting the number of soil tiles, the farmer will be less distracted by onplanted tiles. For herb and mushroom farms the rules is around 10-ish per worker, so around 30 tiles per herbalist. 2 fully staffed decontaminators placed in either end of Onbu will keep most infestations at bay. I however built 3, one on either end and one in the middle, and only partially staffed them all at 4 each. All spore forests/clouds are no longer an issue. The trick ot find staff is to have 2-3 worker huts nearly full that you can just shut down when a spore cloud appears and then re-assign the workers back to these once done. Wheat and berries is amazing, and will be your go to stable food production in any environment. Wheat is saddly not gonna do too well in freesing or torrid environments, but you do not have to constantly change these farms whenever you enter a new biome. 1 fully staffed villager docters seems to be able to effectively be able to fully treat 25-ish people in high toxic air. Furthermore, a herb farm can fully stock around 2 fully staffed village doctors. I have a population of 120-ish, and 5 village doctors fully staffed along wih 3 fully staffed herb farms. I can tank jungle biomes now. Kitchens are always importent, and as long as your raw foods are never going up and the processed food is always going up, you are having enough kitchens. Onby anatomy: Onbu has certain areas you can build in. There is a heart region for injector and blood collector locatoed just at around center and a bit towards Onbu's head. There is a spine section running mostly through the middle of his back for the deep stone quarry, there is a gall-bladder/stomach section near the middle but towards the side of his belly for the gall collector and liquid fuel injector, and finally the poo section at his back and the feeding sectionnear the front. THe buildings mentioned can only be placed in those areas, so get ready to move your buildings around. Max out all the poo collecting. The dung collector only works when Onbu defacates, so having more of the collectors means you get more poop out of each defacation and you WILL run out of poop. The only neccessary Onbu-hurting buildings you willmost likely have to construct, whether you want to or not, is the bile collector, the deep quarry mine, and the injector. This will set you up for most late game challenges. Just ensure only one of them are on and never two, and that you take regular breaks between usages. Onbu's trust is hard to manage, but it is possible.

it might be better if you were to have a single farmhouse for each individual crop, then when the right climate comes along you won't have to wait for them to plant and grow and harvest since they'll already have been planting (provides the right climate). also, each farmer can only work maybe 6-10 squares so you might save some space there

@@tonyhinderman Exactly my point. I played Stellaris for hundreds of hours and won, but this is the game that to me looks more intimidating than Stellaris on hard because of how easy it is to fall victim to forces of nature, which are much more chaotic than if you are pitted against foes that are personified and whose agenda can be clearly outlined. Even Frostpunk manages to give its dangers a semblance of an outline, so while you are struggling to keep your settlement alive, you fight the devil you eventually come to know, it becomes a predictable quantity, and I'm not feeling that with Wandering Village at all. I'm not willing to play fetch with a random number generator. I'd rather jump in a piranha infested pool of water to escape angry natives with an arrow in my back in Green Hell than experience slowly walking toward a poison cloud, because with the former, I'm able to anticipate the magnitude and extent of the danger I'm about to face, with the latter I can't. If the risk can't be quantified with napkin math, it's a bad game to play. I'd much rather play Settlement Survival or any other Banished clone and reserve the extent of my exposure to Wandering Village to youtube.

I think canonically Onbu is an Onbu called Onbu 4:02 Since Onbu doesn't really go west, it's reasonable to think another Onbu made those tracks Because it says "an Onbu", an Onbu is a species But because the word Onbu is capitalized, it's a name It's used as both it's species and it's name, so idk maybe all Onbu are named Onbu, possibly because it's rare for them to encounter eachother

Am i the only one who thinks that when RCE set those bushes as priority those villagers were not so much "punching" them but in fact harvesting them? Because if you must have a specific job and resources to deal with the poisoned plants, then that means other villagers who are not decontaminators cannot deal with it. And then after a while a bunch of villagers were very poisoned... I think RCE inadvertedly poisoned the food supply :(
