With Ungodly Hour, their image was perfectly fine. It was adult, very feminine, and it gave ethereal “we are the muses” vibes. I think their roll out was great and their VMA performance was a big deal. Their rollout needed more, im talking more marketing. Give me the merch, more interviews, collabs with big names. But nah it’s not that she’s super sexual, it’s that the transition isn’t fitting well with her fan base that was capture by her ungodlyhour era before the separation, not her being sexy herself so much even though it’s cringey sometimes 😂

You hit it right on the head. The album lacked direction. There was no definitive era. She keeps talking about heartbreak and resilience but we was not seeing heartbreak from Chloe. Chloe been outside for the last 2 years...what heartbreak sis? How we goin through heartbreak with you and we never even fell in love with you? Lol nah but for real. I think people were perplexed about this rollout. Should've let Sza and Summer do the sad stuff and she Should've did the fun r&b stuff. The joyous fallin in love stage, the spring mixy, the summer boppin, type vibes. Then she sometimes comes off pretentious sayin stuff like, "im a studied musician," "i actually create music." True but that doesnt mean people like it Chloe. She also tries too hard to be a vixen then wanna play coy when she's clearly thirst trappin. It's annoying. Pick a lane. This album and era was rushed and sloppy but im glad she's havin fun on tour. She looks fabulous! 😍

She is so talented that-the “Treat Me” video actually upset me. You hit the nail on the head! I’m not sure why women think that being promiscuous means that they are expressing their womanhood. I think the feminism thing is a reverse psychology tactic to get women to objectify themselves. There’s nothing empowering about being promiscuous. Ask prostitutes, hookers, and call girls. Most of them want to stop being promiscuous but they feel like they have to due to insecurity.

The album has continued to grow on me, and my appreciation for more of the tracks overall continues to change and evolve. That said, I do think the album itself does play it a little safe, controversial collaborations and things of that nature aside. I definitely love tracks like “In Pieces” and despite the toxic message, “Cheatback”. “Worried” is also another favorite of mine. I definitely think the drive is there, the ambition and the work ethic, but in my opinion, I think this record still shows that she’s stepping into her own and that she still has some forging to do and that’s perfectly okay. She’s young and hungry for the success and I think that will allow her to mature and hone where it’s necessary. I do think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a woman being assertive and hyper-sexualized and I do think Chloe does pull it off with a certain finesse. I think what comes across the most jarring to me and maybe other listeners is how innocent and meek she still seems by comparison. There’s always this dichotomy of the artist who we see onstage and the person off the stage. That Chloe comes off as this very sweet, soft spoken personality. People may be thinking that her more robust and cocky stage presence is an act. I think it’s entirely possible to separate the two because people are more than just one thing, BUT I think a tighter branding and more consistent messaging will be the key going forward. Again, she’s young and has all the room to grow and only continue to get better. I get the sense that she very much will. She has all the trappings of a major player in the music industry. Even the greatest of the greats had to start somewhere and take a few falls before getting it perfectly formulated. She just needs that time and to continue to have more experiences.

I agree w/ this and I also feel like her creative team dropped the ball…for example, changing the album cover & color scheme at the last minute her key colors was red black and white she should have stuck with that rollout. Also, picking the wrong songs as singles…Have Mercy, For the night, Body Do, and In Pieces should have been the lead singles. And she didn’t even put the hits on the album. And sadly, her tour is low budget with literally nothing on the stage. But she did do a great job performing. Overall, I do agree that she went solo too soon…and I fear that Halle’s solo music is gonna outsell because it’s more relatable, focusing more on the vocals instead of mediocrity and she’s not forcing the sexuality.

I actually liked worried but felt there was some missing elements in the production. I also wanted full tracks a lot of the songs I liked were too short. The Chris brown song was boring. Didn’t like future part in cheat back would have been better without his verse in my personal opinion. Her previous single and the tracks on this album should have been 3x mini albums or EP because then her projects would flow more. Chloe career reminds me of Tinashe who also had issues with releasing music and sales. Chloe going to come into her own when she in the position to figure it all out. Columbia seen the praise she got off of that and tried to capitalize off of it by marketing and pushing her as this sex symbol. So her record label is partly responsible but ultimately she is responsible. You have to put your foot down in the industry, know who you are, and have boundaries on what you will or won't do. Or these people in power will put you on a path you may not have seen or intended for yourself. To me Chloe is someone growing into her womanhood and there's nothing wrong with that, but there is a way to do so with taste. Serious question: Do you think she wanted to debut at #119? I'm guessing not. Most of her criticism isn't "hate". She's not getting what she wants and people are telling her what she needs to do to entertain them, she's a entertainer. Nobody's forcing her to do anything.

@@r.johnson1170 Why do you think she sold 10,000 albums? It's easy to argue why you like something, it's different when trying understand why something wasn't like by a lot of others. The "because it's Chloe" isn't a good argument because every artist have haters and no artist resonates with everyone.

Chloe had some great songs but every single song lacked a lil sumtin. Instead of Chris Brown she should've put Mario, Wiz Kid or J. Bieber. Songz were so short & but nice. She needs to focus on her music alot, more than her sex appeal. Wish they gave someone else creative control. But fortunately she's just starting so maybe she'll learn a thing or two.

In Pieces didn't have good music. Ungodly Hour was a good album that I still listen to. I'm confused as to what happened with this album. I want her back with her sister.

The thing about music nowadays is you do t have to pay for it. Y’all tell people to love their bodies but once they do y’all start shaming them

stop it. loving your body does not mean spreading eagle and tapping your chocha. less is definitely more. her trained amazing vocals don't need that.

If that's all there was to it then why do other female artist get away with being sexual and are still successful? There are different markets, people don't all think & consume the same. Her base id different from Cardi B's base or whoever. If lil Wayne put out a gospel album I don't think it would sell, but Kanye does it and it does numbers.

I don’t agree with you. I do think she is over sexualized but her album is fire. Worried, told you and a few others are definitely hits. I think you should actually listen to it. It seems you named the ones she put out and are judging the entire album by those. Either way, thanks for sharing your opinion ❤

So sick of you kids talking about someone being too sexy. Sex is HOT. It sells! Most importantly, she's exploring. How is this album a flop? Grow with your artist. Let the artist grow with you.
