Always loved the Crown Royal velvet bags. All the kids I knew kept their marbles in those bags. I lost my marbles years ago, but that's another story.

Thanks for sharing. Didn't know Crown was made there. Also Gimli was where the Gimli glider incident occurred.

Ah yes... the Gimli Glider! They have a little museum dedicated to it (or they used to, anyway).
Love the peach. Sometimes I mix it with red cream soda. Odd combo, but I like it!!!
"it's nothin' fancy but you don't need fancy when you have world's best whiskey" Well said Frank & Copyright that lol
I missed this bonus road trip video somehow. As a whiskey loving Canadian I’ll probably never be to Gimli so thanks for putting in the clicks for me. I don’t drink anymore but I’m nostalgic about Crown and many other whiskies and beers, all Canadian made of course.
Crown & 7, Canadian Club & 7, 7 & 7 are my go-to drinks. For on the rocks or straight sipping, I go to Montana and get myself some Montana 1889 Bourbon Whiskey! Cheers, Frank!
I am a Scotch guy. Did so many whiskey taste tests in Ireland. Nothing comes close to Scotch. But, is Crown the best whiskey? Welllllllll, no, it’s not at all. But way to represent, Frank!! Thanks for this video!
The greatest D&D dice bags ever
Love trailer park boys, funny 😂
Thanks for doing this trip! Personally I'm not much of a fan of Crown Royal but have bought it on occasion, regardless it's cool to see the location where it is made. I knew a guy about 10 years back whose go-to was always Crown Royal and I still have a Crown Royal glass from him to this day. I think I have a couple of their velvet bags floating around as well.
Thank you for sharing Frank. It looked pretty cold out there but we know how much you like you Crown Royal. Shame they dont have a customer shop or a walk round tour... but based on sales....perhaps they dont need one !! Cheers

Very cool. Not a crown Royal fan myself. We have a local distillery in Dutchess county NY called Hill Rock. They make a great single malt whiskey and a great bourbon. They have tours and tastings. Went there just over a year ago. Great fun and they sell it there as well.

The Crown Vanilla and Apple are pretty good. Though I will drink the regular on ice. 🥃
Hey Frank, I hope all is well! That was a very cool video, I have to say! I have always enjoyed CR over the years, and I had no idea at all that it was made in Manitoba, let alone exclusively! I feel that is a huge honor and point of pride for the province, and most certainly for the Town of Gimli. Thanks for the video and for the enlightenment! Cheers 🥃🥃🥃

Definitely a point of pride. I have heard many stories over the years from Gimli residents working at the plant... kids making 'swish' from old whisky barrels, haha... It would be even better if Gimli was acknowledged on the bottle (it says Toronto on the bottle... argh...). Oh well... at least the whole story is on the Crown Royal website, with some pics too. Cheers!
This is where music and whisky come together. At one time, during the late 1990s, Seagram owned controlling interests in MCA, Universal Music Group, Polygram, and Universal Pictures and Theme Parks. They were also into minerals and chemicals.

Very cool - thanks for the comment. I would love to visit Iceland someday. There used to be direct flights from here, but I think that stopped, unfortunately. Gimli (the town I visited) was settled by Icelanders in the late 1800s, and they are still very proud of that history.
Very cool video, love road trips and love me some CROWN ROYAL ❤🤘

I drink it with lots of ice and some Diet Pepsi... I have friends who drink it with Pepsi, Coke, ginger ale, 7-Up... on the rocks, or just straight. Enjoy!
I currently have a regular bottle, a apple bottle, and a salted caramel a friend left. It has been my favorite for years, and still haven't tried the master series
@Channel33RPM

The apple is great... if you ever come across the Northern Harvest or Reserve series, grab them. I want to try the XO, but I can't justify the cost.
Gimli locals may be able to confirm this but at one time, was there not a large Seagram’s sign in red neon on that building? My memory suggests there was but my memory is flawed.
Man, I drank A LOT of Crown back in the day... Goes well with records, indeed. Cool vid.

If you don't don't get some CR "swag " from the company, there is no justice. One must visit their sacred place, at least once, and I am glad that you did, and shared with us. Thanks. P.S. how many records did you pick up on this pilgrimage? Just. Saying.

I would not object if Crown chose to sponsor the channel, haha! No records this time... Gimli is a small town without any music stores (population of 2,000, which grows in the summer as people flock to the lake).
I’ve never tried it, but I’ve seen it in my local bottle shop. I’ll have to buy a bottle (for research purposes of course)

Such a shame they don't do a tour. A loss to them as it may bring in extra revenue if they included a shop. I loved the clarity of the video too. Both in the vehicle and outside. Freaky to see snow as we have not had any yet. Mind you we are quite low where I live and usually nowadays get one day of light snow and it's gone after that.

I do enjoy some Kentucky bourbon - and have several bottles at the bar (Baker's 107 proof is my current fav bourbon - though expensive here). Crown is my go-to though.
How is the building not painted up like the purple bag it sometimes comes in?
The most important thing about Crown Royal is the blue cloth bag. Everyone’s first stash bag.
