You forgot to mention that despite Eirika being unable to find a boat to cross to Rausten because of the Ghost Ship, Ephraim just gets on a boat, runs straight into the ghost ship, and destroys the entire thing in what was voted the worst map in the game (after the prologue). #JustEphraimThings.

Actually, I just realized something. FE8's story theme is basically the antithesis of FE13's. Think about it. The story involves the tragedy of Lyon doing everything in his power to "Challenge his fate" of the earthquake hitting Grado. By doing so, he was responsible for resurrecting the Demon King and causing a war resulting in numerous deaths throughout the continent. Even going through all that length to change the future, the earthquake still happens and all he does is make people hate Grado to the point of considering the earthquake its divine punishment.

DarklinWolf tbh this game reminded me alot of FE6. *legendary weapons return known as sacred twins. *Backstory about a group of heroes defeating a demon dragon/king *multiple paths *In both games you use a unit that uses a dragonstone (fe7 is the only GBA game that doesn't have one) tbh there are many similarities that I think they were trying to bring back a FE6 type of a game to western gamers.

Tbh I know Eirika was naive in that one scene, but it was also really humanizing and in character. She really thought that the stone would save Lyon, having heard from Lyon some of the miracles it could perform such as saving the girl who nearly died. And she hadn't yet come to terms yet that Lyon was truly lost. I think this scene does a good way to transition into her (or Ephraim) getting that resolve to defeat Lyon, during the chat with one of the princesses in chapter 19.

EmblemBlade9 she loses the bracelet that Seth tells her is super important, then 1 or 2 chapters later hands it over to the enemy. This leads Seth to tell her why its important and she still almost lost it a 3rd time to Orson if Seth had not been there to spot the betrayal. Despite finding out the king of Grado was dead and being controled by Lyon from her brother and Knoll, and seeing Lyon right before the Jahanna hall burst into flames( Yes i know Caellach does that but the heros don't see that) she still believes Lyon is good. That goes beyond naive and into stupidity.

+Athanasios Demertzis When I try to envision novelising "Sacred Stones", there are certain elements I'm not sure to decide between... except that Ephraim being beaten by Lyon and losing the stone THAT way, before being moved to tears by his words, is SO the canon path in this case! Ephraim's scene at the end of Chapter 18 is just much more potent and moving overall, too... Dont get me wrong, I really like Eirika but... that scene was just SO stupid - Eirika's compassionate, not stupid. More importantly, any time she DID make a bad move, it was due to either deception (going to Renvall because Tirado spread rumours about Ephraim's apparent capture) or incomplete information... urgh! Damn it, Seth - would it REALLY have kill you to tell Eirika about her bracelet's properties right after FIRST getting it back from Colm, instead of waiting until she gives it to the enemy (to try and negotiate a hostage trade, that fails) and thus has to fight off that s**tbag Novala to save the civillians AND get it back a SECOND time? Really, were you not convinced ALREADY that she had NO idea just how important that thing was, you boneheaded excuse for a knight Captain?! I mean... Eirika's not perfect, but she's more of a diplomat who's caught in a situation way over her head - against an enemy of demonic beings, no less. Technically, Ephraim's not perfect either - his own story is about realising that he needs to be a more responsible leader to his people instead of running off on adventures, especially after the war. The two are kinda halves of a whole (incest jokes aside), and they're both great FE Lords. ;)

I love the character from this game, save from a few, but I still think the story is pretty good compared to other games in the series. Good video nonetheless.

I like Sacred Stones. While the plot is flawed, and the MC's are kind of stupid, it's still an enjoyable story. Along with that, the villains and characters are super memorable. Plus, the music is great, and the writing is god tier.

Nah! Plenty of people do that, including me!

I do remember this being brought up in the endgame chapter video of Mangs' Awakening playthrough, but the idea is just so good: Why isn't there an Innes story to go along with Eirika's and Ephraim's? Sacred Stones, in terms of the number of chapters in a single playthrough, is really short, and only gets partially rectified by the two divergent paths. Over the game, the Lord that you're following (and by extension, the player) learns of events that happen involving Innes, exactly how the same Lord learns of what happens to the other twin. It seemed natural that Innes would have a story alongside the twins, and I was disappointed to learn otherwise. Now that I've typed this out, I'm not sure why I did this... huh.

it might be because innes started his story before the twins did they would have had to add another type of like fe7 choose a Lord feature but with the limitations of the GBA cartridge space j don't tthink they would be able to add a whole new set of levels alongside the two they already had. fe7 had the same exact maps besides a few added here and there. 8 would have to have made it the same exact maps to preserve space but that'd just be like playing eirikas story again but with iness as the Lord unit.

This youtube series gotta come back.

What's the difference between sacred stones and fate? One of them let's you do skirmishes to get exp and the other one has a pay wall to get exp

GAME THEORY: Intelligent Systems made FE8 easy enough for babies so that the ratings board would let them put all those mature themes and they averaged the score out to 12+.

If they remake the game I want Selena recruitable in Ephraims route and Glen recruitable in Eirikas

You can get them at the end of the game, if i remember right you can get lyons by beating the ruins several times
