I had no idea about this game until now

I just can't understand their thought process. TWO times their games failed because their games literally did not have enough players in the entire world for their game to function. Clearly, their goal should be to accumulate as much of a playerbase as possible so this doesn't happen a third time. What do they do? -Release a game on the console with the smallest playerbase of the big three -Charge money just to access the game, when their main competition is free-to-play, and when the franchise's previous entry was free-to-play -Charge money after purchasing the game to play individual rounds The payment model of this game would be a bad idea for a free-to-play game with a pre-existing, strong playerbase. This is straight up suicidal. I'd be genuinely surprised if this wasn't some sort of social experiment to see just how big of a failure you could make out of a franchise.

Yea that always annoyed me greatly. When i played they did keep up on it with constant bug fixes, new content for every holiday as well as lore/story driven events and server maintenance but they charged way to much for the game to then turn around and ask 15 a month to play it. . I found out recently everything but the latest expansion is included with the subscription now and that it was dropped to 12.99 a month. I also heard that they began a system to exchange in game gold for game time which does sound like it would reward loyal players and help with the inflation of the ingame economy which had become almost impossible for a newbie to compete in. In the past they had dropped the price of the old stuff but they are doing now what they should have done 10+ years ago price wise. if someone has played since launch and bought every expansion they have paid them thousands. Even right now at 12.99 its gonna be 156$ per year + the cost of the expansion. But even that's not really worth it considering how much they dumbed it down and ruined the story with the panda nonsense and who knows what other fresh sins since i left. They did a fine job making a fun game up to and including cataclysm i'll give em that. If they would have done the smart thing with their pricing earlier and kept up with the quality content they might not have dropped from 12 million peak subscribers to the 1.7 they had at their lowest. from what I hear people are very happy with classic and getting back on track with the storyline and what not but stuff was getting hairy for a while.

EA is a publisher , it does not even make games anymore. Respawn , which is a fantastic development studio is pretty much what's keeping EA's reputation alive.

As the game industry progresses, I keep seeing ppl defend greedy actions of companies, only to say "they need to make a profit" and back them.... this is probably the climax of that. Game companies need to remember that they're trying to sell a product no different than another company. With inflation, games have been sold same price forever, if techniques are costing a company more, then develop less. Stop pushing development and demanding money. It's sickening.

Is this an actual joke? How can a company be so stupid. It honestly amazes me that they are still around

The perfect masterpiece of a series, the only series that stay true to their name "The Culling", and what that title means literally is The Culling of their players and fanbase.

The prices don't even make sense. Why would I pay $3 for 10 matches when I can play as much as I want for 7 days for $2?

The only seeming quality is that when an Ad plays now, it resets the comment section (as it always has done, very annoying) but since the comments now work by clicking on the comment button (instead of a scroll down) it pops back right where you left off. I love this but besides that it’s kinda weird they moved it

@@danang5 nah almost every single mobile game takes off to some degree, remember that pile of shit clash of clans? yep still massive and was the biggest grossing game at one point although being free, same with raid, same with tons of other absolute copy and paste shit, too many adults stuck in a situation of not being able to use a coping mechanism for places like work or outside of home so they get into the biggest trend going and feed the system, heck i played a game years ago about green army men, literally like a clash of clans but green army men and didn't seem special or big in any way, a Chinese owned game marketed towards Americans and Russians, i only found out they receive thousands of dollars a day alone for a game nobody seems to know of, like at all by people buying 'packs' or resources on game which turns out to be like full triple AAA pricing for characters to unlock and increase power in. people always says and claim kids possess these markets of games like mobile or thre mommy or daddies, but they dont at all, same way EA makes billions a year from fifa, from ADULT men not just kids, a majority of actual adult men without special needs or a legal status of such pouring there hard earned money into a gullible system that pays nothing back out. i say it always but there is a demand, otherwise we'd have regulations and such or pathways to not allow weird little sick hentai games to be a market on steam, or Battle royale pastes, but thats the thing, people keep buying, then they complain its broken or its not getting updated and released because its Early Access, its crazy since the consumers are actually the ones in control yet we cry and shout about things not changing, why dont we change our actions and mentality? sorry thats my 2 cents.

I was top of the leaderboard when the first culling game was “popular”, and it really does pain me to see how bad xaviant has tarnished their name and ruined everything they had going for them, and still haven’t learned. 1 free Match per day??! How do they think that will even work? They don’t even have a playerbase anymore and they think they can get 16 people to use their free token at a set point of time to even start a match? They have got to be some of the dumbest game developers of all time.

Same. I loved how dedicated the small community was, and not gonna lie, I loved the first one to death. Then the devs kept making bad decision after bad decision. It was easily one of my favorite games of all time, and then they shit on it, and tried to make a sequel. Honestly a very sad moment.

What a horrible business model. Even if people were open to the idea of paying for this latest version, by only giving them 1 game per day you are incentivizing them to quit and move onto another game, because no one turns on their console to play for just 30 minutes and then quit for the day

I was the last person at the DMV in Michigan before it got closed down due to COVID-19. Fun fact: DMV employees do not become any less hostile when you're alone in a room with them.

The worst bit: "Win tokens by winning matches" This means that even if it manages to take off, winners play for free and new players have to pay more to lose. It's literally the opposite of the pay to win model
