    What i find interesting is that Hubbard actually said, in an article, which as published, that ''the best way to make a million dollars in America is to start a religion'', and despite that, people are still influenced by him!

    According to the fellow writers who knew him in the 1940s, one of his main topics of conversation was how much money you could make by starting a religion.

  • @Mereologist

    @Mereologist

    Yes, but. Even if we completely accept the notion that Hubbard was some kind of con, it still begs the question of the success of his con. After all, he was not the first nor will he have been the last to attempt such as con, if a con it is. In this sense, then, there is reason to have some interest in his ideas because - even if they are a con - they are a con which SPEAKS to people. And that CANNOT be a con. We can ask ourselves even if these ideas don't reflect the actual nature of the external universe and the history and entities within them, what those ideas have to say about our own personal natures. I am reminded of Immanuel Kant and his attempt to disentangle whether the world was limited into cause and effect or it was simply our minds that had that limitation.

The lost and lonely, who are looking for something to believe in and a group to belong to; and narcissists, equally isolated, but whose vanity is attracted to the proposition that they are super beings. In both cases, Scio validates them as someone special.

As someone who has studied the effects of RFs & EMFs hidden side effects, what ever they want us to believe, I lovingly recommend that you , please, switch to wired earpieces instead....Especially for long interviews....you have to take good care of that National Treasure brain of yours!...Take Care!

    I was told after taking one of their lengthy tests.....that I was clear, and therefore scientology wasn't something I'd be interested in. My husband and I were there for a management business seminar, and apparently they were involved, since they came in to one of the classes to pass out the test that we were to fill out and bring back. I thought it was weird. It took me no time to answer everything, while it took my husband hours. He was told he wasn't "clear". Wanted him to sign up for all their courses, and probably, more. He told them that since I was clear, he had no need for their classes.

    I lived near Clearwater for almost 20 years. I never really knew what Scientology was about. I went to the dentist. The dentist said go to Clearwater to this doctor downtown. Then I learned more than I ever wanted to learn about Scientology. Justice for Lisa McPherson and Whitney Mills. Justice for all touched by the darkness of this organization. Truly stranger than fiction. My intuition spoke loud I got away.

    I see why this works for some people. Body Thetans equal sin, or human weakness. If you fight against these things to better self, lessen your sin or human weakness or whatever you wish yo call it you will certainly have a better life. The fact that all that is just the honey to catch you and take your money is not surprising. Like joel osteen mixed with star wars. I also see why Christ will come back the way it says, if i was him id be pissed at all this nonsense.
