    I'd say avoid intentional cutbacks as much as possible. It's inevitable for people learning to have to do some cutbacks, but making a line with the intention of doing so usually takes away from the fluidity of most pieces. When you look up close at most real graffiti you'll realize that most outlines are done in one shot, and almost all illegal burners still have a few drips and imperfections. Most people looking from 10+ feet away (which is conveniently where most photos seen on the internet are taken from) won't even perceive them in the same way you're much more likely to notice a blemish on your face than the people you interact with. Chances are your favorite writer uses rusto with stock tips.

    Also another way I know to practice drawing with cans *legally* is to put strech out something like foil in between two poles for example. This way you dont have to worry about painting anything accidentally, and you get to have a clean surface every time you paint (assuming you dont reuse said foil)

    go find a river system in your city. Find an entrance and go paint under a street/bridge somewhere. I spend all day trying 20 different tips until i settled on NY FAT/Pink dot to fill. Lego's and skinny creams to outline/cutback.

    If you buy rolled paper at Home Depot or Lowe’s, you can cut out a huge piece and hang it up with carpenters tape so you have a huge surface to practice on.

    This topic came up in my circle. The fact that the community suffers through a new artist who thinks there ready for walls when they are obviously not. There's and almost every other toys crap is covered your city in a gross way just waiting for someone to buff it so they can hit it again. There's nit much 101 either. Kats paint on anything with no edikit. Landmark statues, diamonds on mirror, and wood fences on ppls homes. How do we communicate to them. Artist with skill or savage vandal toy??

    Personally I've always advocated for more time practicing getting control over blending and linework with the tools you had at hand. In my early days, I noticed that too much time spent cutting back on lines and blends that should have been done right the first time affected two things: stamina and overall aesthetic quality.

  • @SpamRage

    @Theartistblock my go to is (montana) colors.. Havent tried sabotaz or fresh paint. I use alot of Sherwin Williams; ibgot my start as a commercial exterior painter on a graco airless. Colors actually came before cans, my prejudice is over the history and not the quality. My close second is probably loop, The pressure feels very stable the whole way. I honestly didn't expect you to reply, thanks man.

    @jongrim aka @theartistblock define "legal wall"? please .. is it an unclaimed wall or a something more that terminology?

  • @Theartistblock

    @Theartistblock

    Жыл бұрын

    A wall that is legal to paint on = legal wall. Unclaimed walls are still illegal and you can be arrested or fined while painting on those. Normally, depending on the spot, some cops don't care if you paint these unclaimed tucked away or abandoned walls BUT that doesn't make them legal and sometimes it can even be a felony depending on the wall
