This is the PC I REALLY use...(2024)

Ғылым және технология

About a year and a half ago I made a video about my personal gaming/editing system, and spoke about why I used my chosen components.
This is an updated version of that video, and since the last one I've made a few changes to my personal rig. I want to share those changes with you, as sharing my long-term experiences will hopefully help you decided if parts like these are right for you.
I'd consider this build mid-range, but some would say it's low-end as the CPU and GPU are the weakest in their respective line-ups. All I know is that this system is fine for my needs.
I'll also be discussing any upgrades I want to make, as well as any changes or alternatives I'd suggest for a PC like this.
Thanks for watching :)

It's definitely worth the peace of mind tbh, i personally have an i3 12100F, a 4060, and 16 gigs of RAM, and it plays everything at maxed out settings, even the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 with Path tracing it plays it very well thanks to frame generation, and of course i play on a 1080p 60hz monitor.

I am rocking on a 1500X cpu (+16GB Ram), but of course my main rig is a beefier one. For what I need It's usually an overkill (the main rig), but sometimes I need it, so it comes handy. On other days the 1500X is doing fine for daily tasks, learning, playing and entertainment (music and video)! Amazing times we live in! With a 6 years old cpu you can still have decent performance for some tasks, not like in the 90's where a 2 years old machine was obsolete, but completely! Enjoy your rig, until you feel you can't enjoy it, because of reasons.

Respect. This is an honest system, not a hotshot KZread 'review samples' machine - despite there being some of that in pieces. I love the fact that your setup remains functional, humble, and cost conscious. Also, a thing that a lot of folks forget is that 'how you game' has a big effect on what's right for each of us. Not sure what you default to on your own time - but I don't do competitive eSports, first person shooters, or AAA 'open world' stuff too much (Ok, I like Grand Theft and Red Dead, but - honestly - I have those on console...). I roll with cRPGs, and some Indie/Retro titles. Yeah, I occasionally play the Witcher series, or mess around with the whole comic book adaptation - but I just don't need a 4090 or RX 7800 type card. I do like style so I collect some older cards, most of which CAN STILL DO WHAT I DO. I find myself on the CPU bottleneck, a lot - Baldur's Gate 3 is a prime example. My favorite way to play, however, is with an Arc a380, Pentium g7400, and a 75hz CRT at 1600x1200. That's not my 'normal' computer - which I rarely, if ever, game on (eh, it's that tinkering side, as you'd say). I keep the main system fairly recent to let my wife have a hassle free situation with maximum rewards for someone who just beats the damn game regardless of the settings. Me, I meander about and explore... both in game and component wise. So, hey, thanks, man. Keep on keepin' on.

That's still a decent system, and a nice upgrade on what you had before, so thanks for sharing this! Though I certainly wouldn't be happy with 16GB DDR5 when I'm currently sitting at 61GB usage (!) and I also wouldn't plump for 1080p low (or lowest) with just a 75Hz monitor. What a waste of a 4060! If I ever do a proper upgrade for it, probably going to get it a 5800X3D, and 6800 XT or maybe whatever newer is out and about the same price as a used 6800 XT. Toughest part to get ahold of was GPU (2020 build), I snagged one, a Power color card, on the RX6600 non-xt's release day.

Always loved the humbleness you give and share, your videos have always been very calming and enjoyable to watch no matter the content. I just recently upgraded my case to that exact one you have, except in white!! Love the little temp gauge. I had a question for you though, are any of the sites you do your deal hunting for international at all? I'm here in the states and deals are real hard to come by, I look through eBay, FB Marketplace, OfferUp and Mercari and even then there's so many fake scams!

Currently running a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus mITX WiFi, with an 8700K, 16GB of 3000 Corsair Vengeance at 3200, and an EGVA 3060Ti that my friend gave me when my GTX 1080 STB! This however is my secondary system in my shop. It does great for gaming, and I see no need to upgrade it at all. My main system however... ! LOL I am a Mechanic, and I also do 3d design work with 3DSMAX and AutoCAD, so I am looking to upgrade that system. It currently is running an E5-1680 V2, clocked at 4.8GHz all core, with a GTX Titan Xp, and 32GB (8x4GB Corsair Dominator GT 2133 at 2400, on an EVGA X79 Dark MB! Also, Happy New Year to you, and yours! And we need more Jack Russell in your videos! LOL! OK, I am a bit biased, as I have a Jack Russell Terrorist myself! Have a great day, Sir! o7

I am still using my Z390 motherboard, i9 9900k and HX750 PSU since 2019. I even mined ethereum with this rig for a year. I have been through multiple GPUs but sold them all. I now have a 4070. I have a generic RGBless case and a Scythe Fuma 3 air cooler. Nothing glowy and "tuby", just old school air cooling and black components. I wish they would bring solid side panels back.

wow. i cant even get my 5800x to 5ghz without freakishly high voltage. good job. i went the undervolt route instead, i set power limit to 100w (old is 120w or 125w) and did -30 on the voltage offset so i run around 4.85ghz all core. runs cooler on all core workloads, doesnt go above 64c on my 280mm with the fans at the lowest speed and didnt change performance in games.

On the topic of DDR5 DIMMS, the 8GB DIMMs if I remember right use x16 ICs, you should see 4 chips on one side, these are cheap basically but are slower than DIMMS with x8 ICs when repeatedly accessing data. The 32GB kits with 16GB DIMMS should have 8 chips (x8 ones) on one side and will perform better even if you don't need the full 32GB.

i love mini PCs, the bigger are always more pleasurable to build in and I have made tons of them, personally had Corsair Obsidian 500D as the last big case, my wife still has her Corsair 4000D airflow I made for her, but always wanted to make myself a small PC that is powerful and can carry it anywhere, so for this new year I gifted myself one. Got the Lian Li A4-H2O case, mini itx b650i AM5 MSI board, 7800X3D, corsair 750W SFX psu, and a new G Skill 6000 MHz CL 30 ram 32GB, reused the two 1tb and 2tb gen 3 nvme because they are fast enough (who needs anything faster unless you are flexing) and even managed to squeeze in my old 3080 gaming x trio after shaving about 1-2 mm on the plastic far end in it, its tight but I love it, powerful PC (however, I am disappointed by the 7800x3d performance, my 12600k performed better in majority of my tests on a 3200MHz ddr4 ram...)

My 2021 build of 10600k + 6700 xt (GPU upgraded in 2023 from GTX 1070 Ti when prices became sane) seems to be a match made in heaven, should take me through another year at 1440p 60 fps (ok, not Starfield) if the parts do not fail. I do like to separate general purpose PC from gaming, because I often pair the gaming PC with the TV in the living room, so it does not stay at one place always. The "basic" PC is a R5 4500 with the 1070 Ti, which as I have found, is no slouch at 1080p for most titles up to 2020. Latter does have 32 GB RAM because I am running several containers/ VMs for personal dev projects, whereas the gaming rig is at 16 GB.

Man I love your content so much but at over half a million subs, I would think you could have one of every gpu made in the last 5-6 years on hand to do any comparison test as you need to. Certainly from the 10 series onwards. I know a KZreadr who had a dozen cars including three Ferraris before he hit half of the subs you have, so you definitely have the money.

My PC is right between your old one and your new one, I got a prebuilt from eBuyer on offer a couple years ago as it offered good value at the time (marginally cheaper than same/similar parts on PCPartPicker) and was new to PC gaming at the time so didn't want to jump straight into building one myself. I could've got better for the money now but the GPU shortage was still in affect at the time as well as COVID. For £820 Mobo: ASUS B550M-K CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: ASUS OC dual RTX 3060 (12gb) RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200mhz Storage: 1tb Samsung m.2 + 1tb WD HDD I want to upgrade the ram and storage soon as I know newer titles need an SSD and use up tons of space, but for the most part I'm happy with it. Also the case ventilation is not the best, so the GPU regularly hits the high 70s, it has a decent CPU cooler inside though. My monitor is 1440p 95hz and older/esports titles easily max it out, while new AAA titles hover nearer 60fps with DLSS.
