This is the entire video of powered parachute stalls and falls

Спорт

This is the entire video of powered parachute stalls and falls. Its just a couple more minutes; sorry I should have uploaded the whole thing the first time. This gives you a better idea from cameraman and spectators that they really believe the parachute is rigged wrong with to high angle of attack. It almost stalls as it goes up wind. Even pilot admits stall as he enters into the wind.

The whole flight seems to be with great trailing edge deflection (brakes). He was close to a parachutal stall and finally entered it while getting in some wind gradient. As he descended he encountered less wind...The canopy could not dive to speed up because it was restrained with the brakes, so at certain point the wing stalled a a lifting foil entering the parachutal stall, he worsened it when he gave power because he increased even more the AOA. Let the wing fly or adjust the brake lines!

Your right Pipkeajaj, The parachute was rigged with to much brake, but also the angle of attack was to great for the parachute not to be in a stall condition during all of the flight. This was a home made PPC and the builder was not schooled in rigging the parachute.

Hi Monsterdunkk, The pilot and most of the people saw the parachute as rigged with to much angle of attack. The chute was rigged with to much leading edge in the up position thus causing the parachute to be close to stall during the entire flight. Thanks for watching Tom.

4:22 total brake on the tailing edge, at about 40 feet, ground effect wont go till about 20 with that chute height. I can see the cross wind at 4:00 minutes on the video. He should have ascended again. and entered the retaliative wind direction to land. With the trike, the pendulum effect would last longer than without. And with the same center of gravity but more weight the flair needs more precision and trike stability.

Its called a "Meta-Stall". Chute not rigged properly, gets behind machine. You start dropping straight down and instinct is to go full power. But if cut power the cart swing under the chute and stabilize (pendulum). You have really understand it to believe it, or else you add power as you fall straight down "locking" the chute and make it worse. Too bad the video was cut, we never saw it develop.

@@hadleymanmusic You've fallen fallen for the infamous "downwind turn stall " myth which applies to all aircraft types. As well pointed out, the pilot was flying on the edge of the stall for the whole flight.Because he was at low altitude he would have been using his ground speed to judge his airspeed. Due to being pushed by the tailwind, he simply stalled because of the illusion of having a faster airspeed than his actual airspeed.
