This is The Enlightenment Trap

The West's faddish fascination with all things 'Eastern spirituality' leads to strange conclusions about what it means to be Enlightened.

Coming back to the term "Middle-Way" always brings me peace of mind. Not to fall into the extreme of thinking we've become "enlightened" and completely quelled all of our suffering. Not to fall into the extreme of thinking we are completely "unenlightened" and haven't made any progress, as even the Buddhist doctrine suggests that our very biological evolution may be a part of our journey. (Being a human is regarded as "favorable" because it allows us to contemplate the nature of our existence.) Nagarjuna's philosophy in particular... I find to be extremely mind boggling and difficult to understand, but it also can't really be refuted... Very intriguing stuff. Nice video Scott.

I really enjoyed 'What doesn't kill us' and the 'The wedge'. WDKU was my introduction to Wim, breathwork and cold exposure. I'm reluctant to say it "changed my life" but I try to make it part of my daily routine... so I don''t know a better say to put it. Anyway, I'm looking forward to listening to the Audible edition, which I preordered. FYI only - The video seems to glitch for a few seconds around 17:35. Looks like an issue with the cut.

In Guru Granth sahib it talks about the cycle of reincarnation and how to get out of it. It says you must have faith in the Eternal formless creator. Start by meditating on your crown, you can start with five work up to 30 minutes a day practice each day to focus on your crown and it explains how you will hear the sacred music and that’s when you know you’ve escaped the cycle. Its a process of dying before death being able to leave your body on your own while having faith that you are safe and can enter your body again. to escape the cycle of rebirth you must learn to die on your own without the reaper taking your soul from your body, again this does not mean once you leave your body your current life is over you can choose to come back and when to leave.

Before watching I wanted to comment. Loving your videos earned a sub from me for sure!! I always thought enlightenment was strange. On the cusp of enlightenment, one has the choice to transcend the material and shed the ego, or to enjoy the dream and "forget" the truth. To continue one's suffering for the love of the trivial. At least that's my take on it

The problem is when ordinary people approaching the vast world of spirituality reduce metaphisycal realities and concepts, talked in all religions and sacred traditions since time immemorial, to their level of (mis)understanding and mixing different states of consciusness, and that is the reason why it is necessary to have truly realized masters (as there are false ones - both by intentional imposture and genuine delusion - there are also true ones), if it is necessary to be trained in secular knowledge by expert knowers, this is more necessary in sacred knowledge. Not only spiritual people but also materialist people make insane and even criminal things thinking they are doing the right rational thing, for example wars all over the planet to propagate "democracy", "progress", "civilization", "freedom", "science", secular deities in whose name the holders of Power sacrifice huge masses of human beings (modern human sacrifices) for the so called "historical progress and good of mankind".

I'm sure you'll want to meet him and exchange face to face. In this vid you see him perform a demonstration followed by his master: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mH2ts5SLYJSfY6g.html

@@sgcarneyeh. Personally I wouldn’t say ADHD addles my brain. Modern society just isn’t built for people with ADHD to thrive. My brain is only “addled by ADHD” from the perspective of modern neurotypical society which doesn’t value unique forms of thought. In reality, I simply work differently.

kzread.info/dash/bejne/X3prkq5rdMuYYto.htmlsi=SKs-2GVEE9bNWx5R. Scott are you aware of the side effects of mefloquine and have you considered whether or not your student in India was on this anti malarial drug. The side effects mimic what you describe reading in her diary. I was prescribed on my journeys to India and doctors did not notify me of possible serious side effects. I later checked into its side effects because I was getting a prolonged rash during use and found very severe issues with this medication.
