This is the best USB-C hub

Ғылым және технология

USB-C is a complicated standard, and if you’ve got a new USB-C laptop, you’ll probably want an external hub to get back some of the ports you’re missing, like HDMI, Ethernet, USB Type-A, and SD card slots. We tried a bunch of hubs, considering things like charging speed, ports, design, and cost to find out which one is the best for your new computer. Subscribe: goo.gl/G5RXGs

Pleaaaase stop using burned in forced letterboxing. Just edit and output in the aspect ratio that you want your image to be, without any built-in black bars. Now I'm watching a full black frame around the video; bars left, top, right, and bottom, as if the video is just too small for KZread. I'd prefer if you just output 16:9 videos by the way. It's a tech video, not a Sergio Leone movie. But if you insist on the wide aspect ratio, DON'T bake in the bars, thank you.

I have the Hyperdrive, and it has two USB-C attachment points instead of just one like you showed on the video. Also, I work on a desk, not on my lap, so I never felt like it was flimsy. Also, it’s not a dongle-I could leave it attached to my MacBook when I slide it in to my bag. It feels like it’s a part of the laptop.

I've purchased the Saitechi USB V2 hub on a recommendation from you guys - It sure is a great USB C dock! And suprisingly small one too. I like the aluminum finish which gives it that premium feeling. Though it costs me 800 DKK (about 130 Dollars), it's still cheaper and smaller than most of the docks from the laptop manufactors. I've needed a USB dock with a lot of ports since my Lenovo X1 Gen 3 tablet only has USB C Thunderbolt ports, and i needed the Ethernet and 3x USB A ports for my gamestreaming with keyboard, mouse and a gaming headset. Great video, thanks Verge!

For the most part, getting the right cables will eliminate the need of a HUB. But a HUB is still useful for expanding the number of total ports, and for improvising. And in some cases, like a Ethernet and HDMI, the right cable doesn’t exist, so then it’s either dongle or HUB. Satechi has another irritating design flaw in v1. The MicroSD slot swallows the whole MicroSD card completely. You’ll need long nails to get it in and out of the port. I hear they’ve since updated the design in v2.

Hi, I am using Macbook Pro 2019 with external monitor (1080p). I am using one of the USB-C hub from FitFort. To connect to the monitor, I am using HDMI connection from the hub. But the resolution on the external monitor is not upto the mark and it looked pixelled. Not at all looking like 1080p. I did all the settings in the diplay and resolution on the setting showing 1080p. I think it is due to adaptor. Which adaptor would give me proper resolution? I saw adaptors (apple and satechi) on apple website. Is satechi is good one for the purpose?

Hi. Maybe you know the difference between a hub with 220 power supply through the power supply unit and without it it does not work (not one connector) and those without power supply can be attached to the laptop, but you can optionally charge it through tiapsi ???? them, with a power of 200-600 euros, and without it 30-100 euros. I suggested that through the first infa comes from flash drives faster, if 3 immediately and for example 2 monitors 4k and everything pulls and in simple ones something will slow down or 4k worse or speed ... no other explanation ?????

I have a hub, now I need a USB-C extension cable. There doesn't seem to be one that works well with any of these hubs - need it to carry signals for all the bits in the hub. Would love if The Verge can review cables for these hubs.

Is there a 3.5mm jack for using earphone in this hub?

Very useful, thanks! I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T470, which has a USB C Thunderbolt 3 port, but also has an RJ-45 network port and HDMI port. However, I need a mini-DisplayPort adapter. Has anyone used a USB C mini-DP they can recommend?
