This is simply very calming yet was very easy to setup.

Wow, just from the beginning and going through this, this actually looks as cool as some Linux rices i've known and done (although far less advanced to setup, which for those of us in the linux community is half the fun) Great vid!

Looks good, I like these sort of vids. I personally been doing this sort of customization for years. Rainmeter, rocketdock, winamp, steam wallpaper etc. Plus there are lots of icon packs out there to do all sorts of stuff. You can go hardcore and actually change your complete windows UI as well. But, definitely recommend Rocketdock. Give it a try if you never used it.

I disable all of this and minimize the amount of anything running and set the background to black and then disable showing any icons.

Personally I have been through the same situation with the dock bars until recently, when I realized that I can create groups of shortcuts within the start menu. Now with just pressing the windows button I have everything I need and more, while my desktop is completely free (with some Rainmeter skins).

This looks BEAUTIFUL. I searched for "better than 'other desktop' (you know the drill), and you came up. Love it. Any chance you could provide the list of downloads? I'm 75-76 years old and have been on computers since before Bill xxx, but a few things have changed in these years. Retired now. But I can still download and install and follow directions very well. My IT friend/helper got me figured correctly. A LIST would be GR8! Thanks much. This solution looks like my answer to prayer. my laptop was booting like 10 sec now it takes 5 min after that so i uninstall all of this and downlod apps from microsoft store and it back fast like normal 10 sec 😃👍

What the point of Screen Styler if you have rainmeter ? Personally I'm using Wallpaper Engine + Rainmeter + Stardock Fences and you can also add Wox/Launchy if you like minimalist desktop or Rocket Dock if you want a simple, yet very cutomisable additional dock. I guess the Screen Styler interface is simpler than the one in Rainmeter but I don't like having too much apps, particularly if they do the same thing.

@@js-km5fw I would recommend Rocket Dock. You can set it up so it's only appear when your mouse is at one side of the screen like Mac OS. Otherwise you can try Launchy or Vox, They are like "search bars" to launch your apps. Stardock Fences allows to divide your desktop into frames that can be unfolded or hidden when the mouse isn't on them. Rainmeter is the best desktop customisation tool but there's a learning curve to achieve exactly what you want.

Another great program to have to keep your computer tidy is Rambox. I have my online drives (google and proton), emails, discord, messenger apps and productivity apps like notion all in one program. It really tidies up the desktop.

Wallpaper engine +fences eat all customisations alive. Aside of maybe Alienware old ones, that are still ass-kicking.

What a beautiful desktop design. I see you're running an Acer Nitro with i5 11th gen. I'm curious to see how much the various widgets and add-ons affect the overall PC performance. Also, it would be interesting to find out what's the minimum hardware to make this run smoothly.

Didn’t keep the widgets on the screen cuz it was too frustrating when I usually try and click them and they just move by one grid but I kept the live wallpaper thanks :D

i have the same wallpaper, no lag. Just lower the quality in settings. My pc restarts in less than 3 mins

yes. You can, however, use better software for this. Wallpaper Engine, TaskBarX and Rainmeter* can be trusted... For Rainmeter though, be careful with the plugins you use. I use those fancy JaxCore plugins and they occasionally lag my PC at startup.

At 3:07, see the one called verticle menu? How do you choose where the button take you? It seems the default is that they open a folder in you PC of the same name (i.e. music opens the folder called music), or in social's case it takes you to facebook on your default browser. How do you choose what it opens instead?

Does this affect the performance of the device? Or use a lot of ram at heat the CPU up? Because that customization is so good but I do have 8gb ram and a Pentium N6000 in an Acer Aspire 3

That's depend on your PC. But with i5 10400f, 32GB RAM, GTX 1070. Live Wallpaper using 0.5% CPU, 120MB of RAM and 15~20% GPU

Yes, it works, looks nice, but a lot of performance loss, i mean, if u have a very decent computer no problem,or just DON'T play any games, just watch videos and browse no problem, good if u have like a octa or more, but quad-core can't handle it too well and keep a nice programs usage, if you have a dual core don't even try and loss your time, but the video is nice! thanks for showing, keep the good work!
