Excellent review. This was a no brainer day one get. I'm getting one to replace my now defective RG351P!

I picked up the white transparent pre-order in last night. Good timing as I was close to picking up a 35XX Plus to upgrade from my original 35XX. This is a much better upgrade overall. I agree that the naming conventions are a little convoluted. My guess is that the 35 series is popular and they want to utilize the same name. It looks closer to a 353 with a plastic housing.

Man I think I'm definitely getting this, the analog sticks are a huge plus! Looking forward to that setup video!

You definitely want this or the V or vs if you want any 3D games at all like the n64, the + is great but you have to remap the controls etc and doesn’t work as well

Very useful table of contents. Helpful with the girth comparison and how it fits in holes 🕳️ on my body.

I'm glad this came out because the RG35XX+ really needed analogue sticks like those found on the R36S. Sticks just come in really useful or are even required in some instances on the systems that it's capable of emulating (DS, N64, PSP and PS1). Plus they always come in handy for any retro racing games and a lot of arcade games that used a joystick. They also work pretty well in the place of a mouse on some games for the Amiga or Atari ST. I'm also more of a horizonal handheld gamer myself anyway, ever since I fell in love with the PSP back in the day. I just find they are far more comfortable in your hands than the vertical GB style controllers, especially whenever you are gaming for a lengthy period. Also, another bonus they have over them, is you can always flip them sideways on and play vertical scrolling shooters or other vertical screen arcade games on them pretty well (Like at 12:23).

Once upon a time I tried to buy the original RG35XX one. Then, it failed to deliver. And today a bit earlier I just bought the H, as it looks like the prefect handheld for my needs. Watching this video kind of confirms my expectations

Put my order in for a purple transparent zazzbizzle last night, so excited for my first step into retro handhelds. Really can't wait to get back to my old gameboy, gameboy color and N64 games. The tatte mode support also really sold me on it as i feel like thats just a great form factor to play those old arcade classics.

@TechDweeb I live in Florida so it's def getting hot af in there, but it's only 60 bucks so it's a good throw away console for this. Currently I have a $20 retromini in there and it surprisingly still works fine after being in there the past year

Still looking forward to when mine arrives. I do think its great that you found a way to make the stock OS a much better experience. But I do feel like it's a bit of an issue that Anbernic haven't just fixed the OS issues themselves. I feel like if they just teamed up with the developers of Garlic OS they could have it to where their devices come with great firmware out of the box. And I guarantee they would sell better that way. They'll probably eventually start selling them with custom firmware cause they did do that with the original 35XX. But overall it would be better for them to sell it with that custom firmware day one.

Every handheld should come with custom OS at standard, these stock OS's are bad for emulation and I feel bad for the regular user that isn't tech savvy to figure it out. When I got my first handheld which is the Miyoo Mini Plus, the WiFi card was giving me the biggest headache ending up having to downgrade stock OS. Funny part is the WiFi doesn't even want to get out of scanning on the stock OS compared to OnionOS that fully works. All these devices need to be dumb proof out of the box.

Yeah it's really sad. They can make great devices but there software is just so outdated. Bare in mind btw the D-pad is different compair the 35xx plus. The miyoo mini with onin os is still the best in my eye's and for the money ♥ Mr tech dweeb is sure right about that

I don't mind the lack of sticks, I just wish it could do all of Saturn without issues. I would get it just for Sega and fighting game emulaton

I picked up a RG35XX Plus because I prefer the form factor for the games I want to play on it. Figured for me personally, if I want to play a game that plays better with the horizontal layout or from a more powerful system then a PS1, I'd just use my Steam Deck at that point. But I 100% prefer playing handheld games on a device that looks like a Gameboy. But I can see the zoopaloop being much more appealing to people thanks to the analog sticks alone. And I hope they get the one they like best!

Can you leave links in the description on how to tweak it to the level yours has gotten to? And then show us tips and tricks on how to enhance the experience? Much appreciated! Great video!

I’m waiting for mine to show up. I’m not sold yet on a 351 353 mashup handheld but my opinion could easily be swayed once I have it in my hands

The Miyoo mini and the Miyoo plus only have one flaw in my opinion, and that's the lack of RTC. I know there are some workarounds to mitigate not having real time clock like using the wifi in order to sync the clock, but RG35XX already have the RTC chip and I think it's the same for the Plus/H version.

Also having trouble with my save states /saves. It never actually saves… I just tested it out on my save file with my leafgreen, got to the 3rd badge last night, only to be only saved the first 37minutes in? Even my save state which I know I did both

I was waiting desperately to see some reviews on this particular one maybe i could regret for buying the rp2s but I'm still glad for buying the rp2s.

As a naming expert myself, I confirm that Zazzbizzle is indeed a fantastic name.

I have a Retroid Pocket 3+, but i want to pick this one up as my 4:3 option. I really dont like the metal RG405M, and id really hate what Techdweeb pointed out where the face buttons are grinding on the metal for each press. And it's hard to say no on that price point on the Zazzbizzle...

Ambernic is the Ibanez of handhelds when it comes to naming. Zazzbizzle is way better

So the Zazzbizzle is a 351p with built in wifi, bluetooths, a bezel free screen and it has a slightly more recent chipset?

Do the games actually play nice though? All the games I have tried have looked choppy on 35xx unless you are playing a slow game like pokemon it doesn't feel nice like how the emulators on pc do. Is that just a matter of processing power?

Are you still planning to make a setup video for the native OS or just gonna do one for the new one that came out?

I'm not sure TBH. I was planning on showing a setup on the stock OS but it turns out that the upgrade process for the stock OS is very messy right now and it would take an entire video just to show how to update, and then another one to set it up. I'm personally using Koriki on my unit and I love it, so I might just stick with that for future content.

Can this or the plus version cast to your tv or chrome cast or anything for wireless connectivity? Tired of hdmi cables

Yeah a little bit. Same thing with the face buttons. It's a bit more of a tighter/cramped device than lots of handhelds.

Thanks I have the 351P but rarely use it due to my RP 3+ . Its just way better for all games up to psp. Also i play game cube and some ps2 games on the 3 plus.

I got the + and bought the H too. Will keep the + for older games but you really want the joysticks for 3D games like n64, the plus can do it too kind of but it’s remapping controls and a huge pain.

I laugh so hard when I heard zazzbizzle great name TechDweeb 😂.

I just prefer the vertical form since I can play them one handed. I keep my 35xx in my lower cargo pocket of my uniform pants as a medic. I was waiting for a bed at the hospital yesterday with a patient and just pulled it out and played some pokemon crystal legacy with one hand while we waited once I finished my paperwork. Same for when I am doing a wait&return for a patient getting radiation. Or when I'm laying on my side in bed, which horizontal sucks for. I practically always prefer vertical. So much so, that I basically never play my 405m, I went back to the 35xx. That's how much I prefer the vertical form factor I just want a premium version of the 353v with the chipset of the new retroid pocket 4 pro. That's my endgame. I just want that.

If you already have an Rg35xx garlic os card will this work straight away on the H?

Both are great, for different reasons. Go for this if you want to save some $, go for the RGB30 if you don't mind a not-as-pocket-friendly option.

The Zazbizzle looks awesome

I like it but I want the handheld to be slightly taller and slightly wider, also the handheld should have the L2 and R2 triggers on the back, so the R1 and L1 are not in the same finger line, so we can have index finger on R1 L1, and middle finger on the R2, L2 buttons.

At $50, this is definitely a steal. I will introduce retro gaming to my kids with this.

Appreciate the videos I've enjoyed my RG35XX and was thinking about getting the plus but I'm leaning toward the ZazzBizzle now. Not in a rush since I ordered the retroid pocket 4 pro. The RG35XX Plus and H seem like they'd be good gifting handhelds though.

Why would you bother if you have a RP4 Pro? The RG35XX does everything up to PS1 which you don't need analog sticks for then the RP4 Pro can do everything in between PS1 and PS2

Looks great tempted to buy it but thinking of saving for the 2s since its at a better price now or even the 3plus since I love playing ds 3ds and psp games I think the 3+ might be the better option for me

It's not great. You can use a hotkey to swap between dpad and 'analog' input, but it's still 8-way directional.

The jazzbezel looks kinda cool but I prefer the retroid pocket

I do understand why folks are down on the Zazzbizzle...it's just odd what Anbernic is doing with their release schedule. I'd be mad as heck if I wanted a horizontal version of the RG35XX Plus and settled on the vertical only to have this appear out of the blue. Still like this one though and will order one for sure. Just wish they released it differently is all.
