The true identity was clear from the start. There’s no way she could keep up pedaling a tandem bike and I doubt she would want to appear on television as a cheat.

To future young people watching this and wondering why you couldn't sit at an outside table because of "lockdown", we were all a little panicky during the COVID-19 pandemic. It's comparable to your ban on words with the letter "z" in 2031.

And there were in fact countries (and governments that took the virus outbreak seriously) that _within weeks and a few months of lockdown measures_ completely eliminated their, local, outbreaks. And, if every government had done this, too, and actually implimented country wide measures **PROPERLY** the virus _genuinely_ could have been stopped and in well under a year. But, hey, that's not what humans can do as an overall species.

@@Tao_Tology Your speculations are a little wild and unfounded, you need to look at the actual comparative world data. It shows NO correlation between the severity of lockdown and the progress of the virus. Viruses simply spread, and then slow down. Even in neighbouring American States with similar demographics and totally different levels of lockdown, the number of infections were the same. Data, my friend, not guesswork, is the best guide.

@@Tao_Tology Oh God, if anyone believes your authoritarian rewrite we are truly screwed in future crises. No one of any consequence believes the entire world could have gone into lockdown. We can't stop human trafficking, but you somehow believe we could have stopped picnics? What actually happens is that your inability to distinguish between small risks (outdoors, masked) and big risks (packed spaces with inadequate ventilation) pushes people to disregard all of it. Because the first casualty of COVID was credibility. That's without even counting the negative effects to economies and psyches from lockdowns. Yeah, if you're New Zealand and a virus is discovered on the completely opposite side of the world and there are no borders that people can cross, you can try to eliminate it. (Although you'll have to return to lockdown over and over, as New Zealand did.) For the rest of the world, even countries that were praised for their handling like Germany knew they couldn't eliminate it.
