During the pandemic, I drug out my old Strombecker from 1966 1/32 scale, 124 scale track and add 66 feet of hill climb in my living room for about from 2018 to 2024. It was amazing just like you said in the beginning, and then a monster of a track layout and more cars and more track. It was fun. Your video is just like my experience ….long live slot caring

Thanks very much! Very kind words! I loved having the attic table, and would absolutely fill a 2-car garage if given the opportunity. My 5-year old daughter loves slot cars, so now I have someone to race with. I love it!

Thanks. I ended up covering the table in green grass, which I liked very much. I used that because I never planned on doing scenery or anything, as I like to change up my layouts a lot. That whole situation is over now, as I've moved out and the table is no longer. Now I run on the floor for the time being and am focusing on the cars more. I love all the Classic race cars! Thanks for watching

Cool. I’m trying to decide if I want to go Carrera track or wood. I have a shitload of Artin track, with 6 new sets that I have yet to open. And at least that many already open!My dilemma is that I want to race 1/24 cars also. You can do that with Carrera track, but I like the idea of building a wood track also. Had one on my patio in Germany before I came back to USA in 2011. MDF. It got screwed up after a bad wind and rain storm. So I would set up the Artin track on the screwed MDF track. Also have 3 SCX Pole Position complete sets. Wanted to make a layout to race with two little dudes that live next door to me this ( 2020 ) Christmas, but couldn’t find the controllers for Pole Position. Artin track is buried too deep in storage, which is probably where the controllers are. Trying to get my house sold, as I got rid of the wife 😂. Hopefully it will be gone in Jan 2021. Then I can start the search for a new house and make a huge layout that will be permanently up all the time. Ain’t doing that married shit again 🤣, so no one to bitch about my track.58, no kids, no wife, over 300 slot cars and my 6 yo female Yorkie and me. She likes to chase the cars when I setup on the tile, no carpet. Had to make a car special for her to attack, lol. So now the decision, build a table for Carrera track, or routed wood, as I could then run my 1/24 cars too. Two lane or four lanes? Carrera could give me digital, but I have too many analog cars.Want to have at least a 30 foot straight to open up the cars a bit.I love the Artin track, but would probably sell it and keep the SCX for Mini to chase cars from time to time. Just bought two Revo Slot Apple Porsche cars ( 89, 90 ) and a pink pig NSR, lol. Then single story or two story. Really don’t want stairs, but easier to control who gets to see my track when I have visitors 😁. Enough life story, good luck with the track, later dude!

Sounds to me with those choices I'd go routed wood. Plus I'd hate to have to digitize 300 slot cars.

@@biggusmikus recently found out I can get a box to allow the use of analog cars on digital track with the flip of a switch. So I’m leaning toward Carrera Digital! Still would be nice to have a routed wood track. Don’t know if I am up for building a new one.

I’m reading this a year later....but I was in the exact same situation as you back then (except for being a bit older). I went with a 3 lane routed track (spaced for 1/32 and 1/24) and really glad I did. It was my third routed track...went with tinned copper braid from slotcarcenter. Highly recommend them. Sure hope you’re happy with whichever way you went!!

@MikeyHanson. Awesome paint job on the track. Does it provide more grip? Awesome Thunderslot elva video too. I was thinking of picking up a few thunderslot cars. I truly love the Slot it cars and Mrslotcars cars.

I've done comparisons with new track and freshly painted new track, and I feel a grip improvement. It's not much, but it's noticeable in the corners. The larger the radius of curve, the more grip improvement there is. I love Thunderslot cars. Not a dud in the bunch.

A very nice video & history with photos of your previous track layouts. If you don't mind me asking, in what state are you located? I'm in NH, no home track, but have been a commercial raceway 1/24 scale racer since 1967.
