Absolutely and to know he pulled off the amazing riffs that he did while in the immense amount of pain he suffered for so long. I know very much what he went through cause I too suffer from a form of ankylosing, mine is in my facial bones called boney ankylosis while Mick's is in his spine called ankylosing spondylitis. It fucking sucks and yet listen to what he's pulling off. He's a fucking guitar God.

As a teenager in the 80's when people thought he died it was devastating especially because it was one year after the death of Cliff Burton and 3 years after Rick Allen crash. Was way too much for a teenager like me lol

80s was tragic for many skilled music artist. Randy Rhoads, Rick Allen, Cliff Burton, and Razzle. Some people probably don’t know Razzle. He was the musician who Vince Neil killed in a car crash.

The story how they wrote the song “Shout at the Devil” is pretty interesting too, It’s all written in The Dirt book.

80s hair metal is some of the most entertaining music out there, so full of energy, uplifting vibes, and kickass riffs. I'm glad the sound is finding some more traction among modern audiences.

Yep that album kicked ASS, To me this was the last Great Rock album of the 80's

Born in '72, the 80's was absolutely the best for music. The diversity was insane. From Madonna to Slayer, from The cure to Wham to Metallica to Kiss to Kenny G. There was always something good to calm you or punch you in the gut. It was absolutely an awesome time in music. Every day i wish i could go back but, i cant so i bring the 80's to the Now. Rock on!!!

Truly the most diverse decade in music...It had everything. Pop King Michael Jackson, thrash metal giants, LA glam metal scene, New Wave, rap, funk, arena rock, pop rock, hard rock, R&B (before it became trash in the 2000s), etc etc..... Oh, and of course, Steve f'in Perry.

And yes I did lots of drugs then. Name it. Crank, acid, coke, weed, alcohol all the while whether it was beer or whiskey. Funny thing is, when you are on blotter hits of acid, you can drink MASSIVE amounts of alcohol and it does nothing but make you pee. Up for 2 days straight. Non stop party man. And I lived through it. Never did heroin though. Had enough fun with the rest though. Lots of girls. Lots of booze. And yes it was dangerous but also, yes it was FUN!

Yeah that all went hand in hand- sex, drugs and rock n roll. I would know I survived the 80's Alex. I was a teenager back then. Another good movie about the 80's metal scene is called " Murder in the Front Row". When it starts off with " Posers must die!!!!" is awesome. It's about the thrash metal scene.

That is exactly what we were doing in the 80’s. It was wild as hell and a ton of fun. Dark side is though some never pulled out and we lost some good folks.

I was a teenager during the 80s and yes there was some crazy shit going on. Motley Crew, Van Halen, Guns n Roses, Skid Row, Poison.... Loved the big hair bands!

He can tell some stories and back it up with pics. I saw Motley open for Ozzy in '84 and followed them ever since. Trust me the book is closer to the truth than the movie.

He said he loved 12 year olds bc you can hear the bones crack. Thank God she didn't get it but it hit 10 on the shock value scale.

The eighties were their own special blend of crazy, innocent, colourful, and wild ass fun. I was lucky enough to have enjoyed the eighties as a teen/early twenties young man. 🤘

It’s great to see people from a younger generation appreciate and like so called hair bands. Alex I was around your age in the 80’s. There were so many great bands that came out of that era.

Yeah man motley Crew were really good back in the day, my favorite album was shout at the devil, heard it in the 6 th grade if I remember correctly, like 82-83.

Since no one else seems to have mentioned it, I believe that was the late great legendary comedian Sam Kinison driving the Crue to this gig. If you have never heard Sam? You need to. Hilarious. The original, screaming, in your face comedian. Sadly, his life was cut short by a drunk driver. Head on collision. As for some other killer Crue songs you need to check out: Try "Looks That Kill" by the Crue, too, along with "Live Wire" and "Primal Scream". Also, they did a one-off album with John Corabi singing when Vince Neil went off to do his solo album/s. "Hooligan's Holiday" with John is a beast. They were pretty much a totally different band with John out front. I love that song a lot. John has a totally different voice than Vince, a howling, higher-pitched, bluesy rasp that I think you'll definitely love. Die hard Crue fans are usually annoyed that someone/anyone other than Vince was ever the Crue's lead singer, but it's really hard not to love "Hooligan's Holiday". 🙂 Anyway. Best era to grow up in man...nothing like the rock concerts from the 80's. They were all general admission and the floor was always off the chain. I seen some of the best at Joe Louis Arena and the Silverdome in Detroit growing up.

i was not a little too young to take full advantage, just sayin,,, 80"s,,,,,,, the most fun decade ever !!!!! And yeah, Sam Kinison was freakin hilarious, paved the way for a few comedians, eg. Bob Goldthwait ( another comedy genius in my opinion ) etc etc Motley was cranked at most parties in the 80's i have many blurred memories....:)

If you label yourself as a metal head, you have this song in your playlist!!! This is one of the most amazing and energetic songs of the genre!!! I Love the Crüe!!!! I don’t consider myself a metal head but, I do listen to a lot of this type of music just not exclusively. I’m pretty well rounded in my music collection.

I'm still hungover from the 80s! Just amazing!!

Officially calling bullshit. No way this dude has never heard this song before.

To be fair he might have heard it over the years but it probably just passed him by as he had no investment in listening to it. So technically this could be his first time really listening to it. I'm 39 and while I know I've heard this song back in the day, it may as well have been a new song to me at this stage.

Bluegrass is still incredible. True blues is still played around the world. There is still some good hip-hop out there. Not like rock and metal doesn't have its share of poor performers and mediocre subgenres.

Just came from a Concert with Motley Crue as a main performance and this was the song they finished on. To say it was an adrenaline rush all the way through is a severe understatement

He needs to listen to Livewire.... that is the definition of the Crue ❤️

Now you're taking back to my days. Lol. I was in 10th grade when they came out with this album. Skipping school to go see them not once but twice. Got my ass tore up from my parents. I remember my mom asking me if it was worth the ass kicking.... I said oh it was well worth it!! Then got my ass tore up again. But I've seen them 5 times. Awesome memories!!! i was born in '98. i love artists from many different time periods but nobody brings me the same type of energy and joy that motley crue does . In my opinion they are one of the greatest bands to have ever existed.

This was back when being a rock star meant you were a fucking rock star.

I love Motley Crue and their music please react more to their songs

I've seen Motley Crue play 5 times in the last 8 years. The first time was at the Hollywood Bowl. Poison opened and was incredible. The Crue is high octane from start to finish with the piano driven "Home Sweet Home" always the last song of the night. I love these guys.

Saw Motley Crue back in the 80's on their Dr. Feelgood tour, along with Warrant and Poison. Best concert ever!

Please react to more Mötley Crüe, or just more 80's hair metal. Thanks for the vid!

Dr. feelgood was an all around great album with exception to " Time for Change"

This is the Crue taking a victory lap after coming out the other side.

I was working the Motley show in Austin Tx in January 1990. I was security and was moved to the stage and got to see the show from the stage. Amazing night for a 22 year old. I can’t even explain the excitement, noise, lights and music. 80’s were the best to be a teen/ twenty something!!

He was feeling something he could never attain again. That's why the overdoses. You need more and more and can never get that first feeling again. That, and all the crap that's in it. Too much? It's over. Bad batch? It's over. If you do it, with some exceptions, it's over. All the horror stories and proof of past losses, yet people still do it. I get the stories of it being easier to obtain than meds people need for pain these days because of the few ruining it for the many with abuse, but is it worth your life?

right a lot of doctors got in trouble for writing too many pain med prescriptions. i hear facts from my stepfather who is a pharmacist. you used to be able to get a months supply of pain meds now you can only get 3 days worth.

Tell me about it! People piss me off! I'm a post Transplant patient and I'm living minus 5 &1/2 organs. You can probably guess that my pain from all of that is through the roof. I have tried everything under the sun. But, these are the drugs that work. And IDIOTS who wanna get high have made it very difficult for me to get pain meds. I don't get it. I have alarms set on my phone so I know EXACTLY when I can take them. If I miss a dose, I wait until the next dosage time. So I have never had to worry about an overdose. I really don't see the appeal. If I didn't have to take meds to have a semi-normal life, I wouldn't take them at all. Go smoke some weed and chill. Stay away from drugs you don't NEED!

My dad said he saw them in concert. Snuck out- later got grounded, but said it was by far the loudest and best concert he ever went to. 1989 Dr. Feelgood Tour. Thanks to Pops, 70-80s era is my all time favorite music. Honestly I probably would have thrived in the 80s so much. Ugh just love everything about the 80s

OMG ALEX YOU BROUGHT BACK A LOT OF TEENAGE MEMORIES!!!! My high school locker was adorned with The Crue, I legally changed my middle name to Lee because of my huge ass crush on Tommy Lee, partying to this band and all the other 80's hair bands [doing all those things you knew could land you in jail - but not giving a damn]. Never did heroin, thought never crossed my mind, but I did partake in the green and even tried some other stuff just to say I did. Those times made me and a lot of my friends feel invincible. Thank you so damn much young brother, you are awesome. Now do yourself a favor and delve into the 80's rock scene a bit more so you can see where us "Old Timers" are coming from. Wow, maaan what a blast from the past. My parents were teenagers in the 80s, and this was one of my favorite so gs when I was 8. Motley Crue has been a part of my whole entire life. I think you'd get a kick outta this band of you gave a couple more songs a try.

Lemmy said it best. Heroin must be good cuz people die for it. He did speed and drank like Bender on a life long binge but heroin was the one thing he never touched, which speaks volumes about it.

Damn man, this song was my senior year in HS. Went to see them live at Legend Valley right after graduation, 1990. One of the most incredible experiences of my life. It was like another world.

Cool fact: This song is etched inside the turret of the battleship USS Iowa

I grew up in the 90s with this song and Johnny B Goode remake by Judas Priest. My dad told me when I was 3 I went into the basement, managed to turn his huge stereo on and put in his mix tape with these songs on it that I called the "lights bright tape" and just blared it. He said he came down to see what the hell was happening, and saw my little ass jamming out in front of the mains. Still my all time favorite song to this day.

I saw the Theatre of Pain show at the Cow Palace in 85. Awesome show. Went on my own because nobody else wanted to go (too many Cure and Pychodelic Furs fan in those days). A friend dropped me off, and drove around town while I watched the show. Had to get back to the Presidio of Monterey for class the next morning. I'm 54 and still listen to and love hair bands.

Live in the San Fernando valley ( L.A.) in the early 80's when motley crue, ratt, Cinderella and so many more were playing at the whiskey, troubadour or country club before they had record deals. The girls the parties, wish I remembered it all.

Alex - you should read Nikki Sixx's book, "the heroin diaries"....it's an incredible book about his life with it. The funniest part of it, it's kinda in comic book form....great review, love your channel!!! You should try..."Sevendust - Face"...t
