This is my electric converted Volkswagen Golf Wagon from 2009
In this episode of Damn Fast we have a very special car! It's the company car of Nicky's Company: Mission-E! This 2009 Volkswagen Golf Wagon/Estate/Variant has been retrofitted with a AC Propulsion GEN 2 Drivetrain with more than 200HP and 200kms of range!
It started its life as a regular 1.4 TSI Golf V Wagon with 122HP and 200Nm with a 6 speed manual transmission. Now its still has the 6-speed manual gearbox (although you only need 2nd) and more than 200HP and 220Nm of torque! Here are some specs of this Golf Electric Conversion.

So what exactly is the “disaster” if we may ask? We eventually have to use other energy sources than fossil fuels… Don’t you think?

@@DamnFast If you don't know why it is a disaster and an impossibility to switch to electric vehicles on batteries NOW, you are living under a rock. Do the effort to get informed about the side effects of alternative energy sources. So what is the rush of getting rid of fossil fuels? I bet you'll say "global warming and CO2". Then go to the nearest mirror and smack yourself in the face twice. For good measure.

I build electric cars myself… Guess I live under a rock then! 😃 I did actually study in the field of renewable energy & mechanical engineering and know quite a lot of what is needed for a sustainable way of living, hence why I do what I do. But Im really curious, could you give me concrete examples of the way sustainable energy via electricity would harm the world? Genuinely interested :)

And so why do electric cars don’t work now/ are having bad side effects? Just today I drove 200kms and charged the car via the solar panels on the roof… If you make bald statements like you did, then make sure you know your facts and state them too. Right now you look uneducated about this topic, which btw isn’t bad, lots of people are in energy/engineering. Just don’t spread misinformation.
It seems to be actually a good idea for people who want to keep their old cars tbf

So far, you mostly presented an old VW golf and its cupholders and temp screen, and the very generic comfort of a generic car. Give us the details! We want to know- what are the benefits of the conversion, how readily are the components available, what legal hoops you have to jump through in order to convert an existing gasoline/diesel vehicle in EU? Haha best interessant, alleen alle opties noemen die op een standaard 2009 golf zitten is echt niet boeiend. Vertel wat over de installatie, de problemen waar je tegen aan bent gelopen, kan dit ook bij andere oude auto's? Wat zijn de kosten? enzovoort....

Wat zou je zoal willen weten van deze elektrische ombouw? Misschien maken we er een aparte video van! Overigens kun je nicky zijn persoonlijke account volgen over de problemen met een soortgelijke auto. De VW Polo 6R uit 2010

Ligt heel erg aan de manier van rijden & de weersomstandigheden. Zuinigste ooit was 12kWh /100km in de zomer met 30 graden op de snelweg. Slechtste is met -10 vrieskou op de snelweg met een 4kW heater aan, dan zit je op 20kWh/100km. Gemiddeld zit ie tussen de 15-18kWh / 100km, best zuinig dus!

Nice. Hoe zit dat met keuring van zo'n ombouw in Nederland? In België bijna onmogelijk om dat legaal op de weg te krijgen.@@DamnFast

Je hebt bepaalde RDW en EU regels waar je aan moet voldoen. Alles moet goed en veilig elektrisch ingebouwd zijn, zolang je je aan die regels houd kun je eigenlijk elk voertuig elektrisch maken! Wel moeten alle onderdelen ook goedgekeurd zijn
