You've said it all. I wish the entire planet would know her. I'm convinced she's not of this world. She is magical the way she can use her voice in never ending ways.. AND.. each song is completely different from the last. She has every genre perfectly covered and new genres that can't be explained.. It's just MONICA. I discovered her from watching Rupaul's Drag Race Espana. haha. I've checked out every lip sync song they've played.. Each one is fantastic. The very first episode or the very first season was Sobreviviré. I was immediately addicted.. It was like the first time I heard Kate Bush. ( "What was THAT?.. what did I just hear? Did I just hear something I've never heard before?) blown away

it's one of the many styles/voices she uses in her songs as all artists try many things, she may still use those sounds you think are mistakes but she is doing it on purpose. You should react more to Monica. 1)Europa live or original 2)Jamas 3)sobrevivire and many more.

Hi! She killed it! But in my humble opinion, I don't feel she forced anything or pushed air at all. What I feel is that she lets go out some air in the soft parts and then, even in the same phrase, she closes totally the vocal chords and adds a metallic texture (not nasal) mixed with hers so personal voice timbre. All of that in different dynamics along the song. I think she uses that effect to express sadness in the soft (aired) parts and annoyance and even some anger when she is belting ("a goodbye took away the happpiest years of my life" that's how it starts). Metallic texture is not to everyone's taste, probably, but I think this song without all those nuances that she adds can easily go from very nice to quite boring.

@@voiceenthusiast Thanks a lot! I'm sorry but I don't agree with that comment. As I said before, I do not hear a nasal sound here as long the air doesn't go out from her nose . What a I hear here is a lot of twang (metallic) sound. Along her career she changes styles and probably uses less twang. But her voice timbre (what I really love) is allways there. Here you have another old performance of her first electronic pop dance times. She uses a lot of resources and, yes, this time, for a few seconds she uses nasality. you'll notice a big diference. (It's lip sync as all tv shows in Spain at that time, but you'll forgive her with that a such performance).It could be a good reaction. This is one of her first songs when she started...waut to you see her now...she has MANY voices, including of a little girl. And has many different styles, from Gaga to Celine Dion. , listen to Doble Corazon, Ahora Ahora diecto de sde luar... etc.
