I have literally been waiting for you to see this. V is my ultimate Bias also and when I saw this I was filled with so much emotion and IU’s voice built this up for the dramatic ending that crushed my heart. I know this is a video but it broke my heart in a sad but also happy way. Love wins all because they won…they died together and happy regardless of what society ie…the cube chose for them. When she covered his blind eye OMG that was the ultimate sacrifice of love to spare him of watching them die! This was brilliant and the vocals and visuals was just as brilliant as their chemistry and acting. We need more. We need them in a K-Drama when he returns from the military!

IU can't hear and V’s one eye can't see ,in the end IU covered the good eyes of Taehyung so he won't see the horrible ending in front of them ,im Stuck at how a single tear from Taehyung’s good eye traced its path down his face and IU’s hand gently covered his eyes, It's as if he found a momentary refuge in her touch, offering a subtle relief from the overwhelming sensation ... AH I CAN'T STOP CRYING 😢😢😢❤😢😢😢

This music is top notch and the acting from IU and Tae is absolutely incredible and the song itself is absolute masterpiece 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

There are so many layers of story telling and metaphors and the director has explained what the storyline is. It’s a beautiful way for him to convey the message. In addition to this one part of my interpretation is based on the fact that Tae is blind in one eye and has burn scars around that eye. You can see at the beginning he is looking vulnerable, fragile and afraid. IU is leading him and is protective throughout. My interpretation is that he had encountered the cube before and narrowly escaped being captured and so is going through all the emotions from it. At the end, you see IU trying to protective him by picking up the metal bar because (to me) she knows what he went through and wants to protect him. And Tae taking the bar and attacking the cube looks to me like he knows what the cube is capable of and despite his fear of it, he wants to protect her. At the end it didn’t work and you can see the cube glow red with heat and smoke coming off their bodies (burn marks around his eyes). The ending was so poignant. The song was amazing and felt more epic because of the storyline and visuals. They have great chemistry, first with the amazing duet they did on IU’s Palette and now with their acting skills, not to mention their interactions as friends. It’s so good to see Tae being able to express his acting skills even in a 5minute short. I hope he starts doing movies on his return. This movie really makes everyone feel emotional and they did that with their facial expressions, truly stunning. IU is queen for a reason and Tae our idol of idols never disappoints in his unique take on life and the choices he makes, whether to make an album of music he likes or to act in a short film all choices with a sad, emotionally moving ending. He wants his artistry to move us emotionally rather than hit the top spots on charts. Love these two artists. It’s time to stop calling this kpop. These two, with their amazing acting, only needed 5 mins to convey all the emotions of the storyline that most kdramas do in 16 episodes.

This video is only five minutes & in that time their acting just drew you in. Can you imagine if these two were ever in a k drama together?! Omg I keep crying every time I've watched this.😭

I knew this mv was going to be excellent, but I didn't expect it to move we all like this. The tenderness (almost innocence?) between them was so disarming. And then the hopelessness of it all... I was so immersed that I could feel their fear and despair.. V and IU's acting and chemistry are so excellent. I loved the fact that Taehyung was not the stereotypical fearless male lead. That man was terrified (he acted it so well!!) and that made everything, including his moment of bravery, feel even more real.

This music video is a masterpiece, the music so beautiful, taehyung & iu acting so amazing,their chemistry are just amazing, of coarse iu's acting so good, but taehyungs acting is incredibly amazing especially when taehyung holding something their expression are so beautiful.

I've probably watched this video 100 times & cry. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. What a tremendous work of art on a critical subject. Society's INHUMANE treatment of marginalized people. The premise is that V is blind in one eye and IU is mute and deaf. And the cube is "cleansing" the world of defective people. Only through the camera lens, they can exist without any defects.

The cubes are trolls/ media. In the MV, she is deaf/mute, he is partially blind - it may seem there is no fathomable way these two can understand each other. This video is dedicated to artists, great Korean idols. The cube represents the Korean music and film industry, where every artist is under threat of social pressure, where one wrong move can ruin their careers, where they can be intimidated by the media and end their lives, living under stress and constant fear. Through the lens of a video camera, artists, idols of many, are beautiful and happy, but in real life they are very vulnerable. The Industry sucks all the juice out of them and then throws them away as if they were old and unnecessary clothes. In South Korea, the big music lobbies have a way of treating artists that is scary. If they see that they are good and successful, they take everything and more out of each of them, becoming ruthless. But when they have been exploited to the point of exhaustion, they leave them aside like broken toys. More than one artist has ended up committing suicide. Everything is very sad. At its end the trolls/ media come to consume another artist and fandom and discard it like a pile of clothes and IU is ready to fight but V (the fans) steps in front of her to defend her and their bond, but they are met with a bitter end. A sad reality every artist must face someday. She sheilds V's good eye to protect him from the inevitable. .😭😭😭😭

Btw, the pile of clothes is a reference to the pile of clothes in the BTS Spring Day mv (Suga sits on top). That scene and this one is calling to an 2010 artwork called No Man's Land by Christian Boltanski. A few things you may have missed. This is one of the theory. There are many others too :- 1) IU is deaf/mute and V is blind in one eye. 2) The cube represents the society which discriminates against people having disabilities thus eliminating them. 3) However Love truly wins all. IU and V stayed together because of their true love. 4) The camrecorder shows how the world would have been if the society didn't discriminate against them. 5) They would have get married happily. If you see the scene where IU was singing in the mic and Tae puts a flower on her ear, the people in the back were pointing fingers at them. 6) The whole mv was mainly shown from the pov of IU. You can see how she always put herself in the danger first and tries to protect Tae, how tenderly she loved him, her touches were so gentle as she saw his normal eye through the cam. But Tae loved her too. At the end of their life, he puts himself in front and tried to break the box. Tae was not your alpha male. They both are equally scared but when time comes, they can sacrifice themselves for the other. This is true love. 7) The three taps on Tae's chest at the end of the mv where Jieun was hugging him from behind indicates i love you in sign language. ANOTHER THEORY - The cube represents inevitable death. IU and V remember their memories when they were younger through the cam recorder. How happy they were. They run away from death, wanting to spend more time with each other but at the end, they can't run away from death. It's bound to happen.

Tae's character was definitely blind with one eye..but maybe either he was deaf or iu was. Because of Tae's you can see iu always leading Tae and being so protective..I want them in a movie or k drama 😅...this was just so good, it made me cry so much 🤧

V's character is blind in one eye... it's why she touches that eye when first looking through the camera, and covers the other eye at the end(so he won't see the end). Protecting him, while she faces it head one. And it took Me more than one viewing to notice this. They both appear to be Mute... to have "No Voice" in their world or in their life/futures.

I was literally waiting for u.. Here's for the explaination- IU is a deaf and Tae is a one eye-blind here who represent all those disabled or marginalized people in the society..The cube represents the social judgement, critisism and oppression towards special people..In the building,the pile of clothes represents those people who have already disappered bcz of the society..Through the camcorder, IU and V sees the normal life that they could have lived..They decide to enjoy all those little moments even in that situation..Bcz for them, their love is all that matters..But the society can't let them live in peace..U can see that in the wedding scene when IU is singing happily with V on the stage, the crowd under the stage is not congratulating them, instead pointing fingers at them..In the end, the cube still manages to make them disappear.. the most touching this is - throughout the whole mv u can notice that IU is so protective of V...But in the ending when the box approaches them, V takes the weapon from IU and fights to protect his love but fails..Then at the very last, IU covers V's only functioning eye so that he won't be able to see the tragic end.. Though they disappered, the only thing that remains on the earth are their traces of love (their wedding clothes and the camcorder).. Hope it helps..

IU is deaf and V is Half blind because of the burn mark that is caused by fighting the cube that "kills" everyone and they show their love even with their disabilities.. they chose to surrender to the cube together because if only one dies, it's like their life will be useless...
