This is How You Get The Rust Effect on Furniture
Want to know how to get the rust effect on furniture?, watch what Lel does to create this effect on a large set of drawers to create a steampunk effect. She then uses glass bead gel mixed with gold paint to create raised gold stencils and a crackle medium to make everything look properly industrial.

I love the grunginess of this piece! Also the unexpected additions of the number plates and small handle plates! It is a far cry from the pine😊 I have some glass bead gel but haven’t tried it yet. Guess I’ll pull it out! Thanks for the inspiration🥰

Whoop whoop what you going to do???? I'm excited for you
Hi Lel, yes, as another viewer said, this piece and handles are from Mexico. They actually make very good furniture in Mexico. I.e., it's real solid wood, usually stained dark. Funny, my hallway armoire has the exact type of handles (i e., held together by a bent wire inside) and I never noticed it. And, i have a Mexican wrought iron baker's rack too. Both, second hand. What else? Ha, ha. There's quite a bit of Mexican furniture in Miami. I don't know if there's new Mexican furniture still incoming to Miami, but 40-30 years ago, there was. My guess is that the previous owner was American, from a southern state? No need to respond. But it's interesting. Have a great week, all of you. Love, Eve

What a great way to start a Monday....a Lel video. I have to say I cheat and use rustoleum rust affects when I want a rusty look. I'm too impatient and find it hard to be random. We found one of those handles on a pine bedside table 2 weeks ago and were just as amazed as you 🧡🧡🧡

I love this Lel, love all the odd knobs, thats me to a T! I have a story to tell. I have 2 sets of drawers with them weird handles on them and at the back of them they are exactly the same as yours!! One set I got about 30 years ago looks like yours. I got them from Freemans catalog. The measurement were in metric lol which I refuse to learn, give me inches and yards all day long. So, I thought what a great price they were,£70! Any hoo they arrived and shouls have seen the size of them lol. They are tiny so no wonder they were that price.I will take phot"os and put them on your FB page. Xx
